Not anymore
The following day, during lunchtime, both Cassidy and Kyle stretched their smiles more than they used to, trying to maintain the lie Allen asked them to. But the tension was such, they ended up drained after only one hour of not saying a thing.
For Kyle, it was not as hard as it was for Cassidy. She felt she was betraying her best friend. But after being a dick to Allen and Kyle, to the point where she even embarrassed herself, she felt it was the least she could do to fix it.
Right after school, Cassidy left with Isabelle to her place to hang out together.
She wanted to keep her best friend from thinking too much about Allen. Cassidy didn't know when he was going to be ready to speak to her, so she had to do her best to ease her best friend's uncertainty.
At least by watching movies, talking about books, or just gossiping around.
