Not Tired at All

Yang Wu Huang gnashed his teeth in anger. This Mei Chao Bing! Did he really think he was so great? Even though he had denied that the other time and Yun Bei Fen and Elder Baili had also stood on his side, he would never believe that there hadn't been anything shady going on. There was no way Yun Bei Fen would fall in love with this traitor.

And now, this bastard actually had the gall to accuse him of doing something to Yun Bei Fen? He had done nothing wrong! He had even lowered himself to actually apologize to Yun Bei Fen for what had happened the other day. Where was he in the wrong there?!

He barely held himself back from lashing out at Mei Chao Bing. He had to endure. If he didn't, that guy would definitely use that to make him look even worse. He couldn't let that happen. The other disciples were already looking quite cautious. He couldn't let this escalate any further. Mei Chao Bing had really managed to drive him into a corner with his bullshit.

He forced himself to smile and wanted to retort when the sound of hurried footsteps sounded from the nearest alley.

Everybody looked over and saw Yun Bei Fen with his hair sticking up in all directions running over with a worried expression.

Yang Wu Huang lost his train of thought and just watched in silence as Yun Bei Fen rushed out of the street, over the square and then plunged himself into Mei Chao Bing's arms.

"Why didn't you wake me up?!" He looked at Mei Chao Bing with an aggrieved expression as if this had hurt him badly.

Mei Chao Bing smiled and smoothed out Yun Bei Fen's hair, giving him a smile in return. "Actually, I tried to but it seems that somebody was tossing and turning all night and was too tired to get up. That somebody just turned around and refused to wake up."

Yun Bei Fen's cheeks flushed pink and he wanted to step back, not having the face to scold Mei Chao Bing anymore. This was the truth, after all. He really hadn't slept well. Although he couldn't remember refusing to wake up …

Mei Chao Bing chuckled at his expression and didn't tease him any further. "I figured that I might as well let you sleep a little longer. Are you feeling better now?" He cupped Yun Bei Fen's cheeks and gave him a brilliant smile before leaning down and kissing his forehead.

The other disciples tensed up, feeling blinded by this display of affection. Shit. Did they have to be like this? Couldn't they think about those single people around them?

Unfortunately for them, Mei Chao Bing didn't pay them any attention and Yun Bei Fen was completely focused on his boyfriend and didn't notice anybody else around.

"Oh. I think I do. I'm still a little tired though. Did I miss out on something?" Yun Bei Fen finally looked around and noticed that people were staring at them. He hid back into Mei Chao Bing's arms and blinked his eyes in confusion. "What's going on?"

Mei Chao Bing rubbed his back and shook his head. "Nothing. Everybody is waiting for the Elders. I guess they saw you running over so suddenly and thought that you had some kind of news to bring."

Yun Bei Fen's eyes widened and he shook his head. "I don't have any news. I didn't even see my Master when I went out."

"I guess then there's no reason to continue looking." He pulled Yun Bei Fen closer into his arms and turned away from Yang Wu Huang, not bothering to continue the previous 'conversation'.

Anyway, if he could keep all this conflict away from Yun Bei Fen, then he would do so. Maybe that was wrong. Maybe he was being exactly like Elder Baili before and not letting him experience things. But while he felt that Yun Bei Fen should become acquainted with the ways of the demonic practitioners, he couldn't bring himself to want him to be embroiled in these conflicts of the righteous faction.

That … It just wasn't something he wanted for him. Because these conflicts were even worse. Nobody would die but it didn't mean that nobody would get destroyed. Sometimes, that kind of thing was worse to see.

Yun Bei Fen didn't notice that anything was off at all and just continued to cling to Mei Chao Bing, rubbing his head on his chest. Even though he would have liked it much more to stay in bed and cuddle there, this was also nice. "Where do you think my Master went?"

"Maybe he was at Elder Xing's place to discuss some matters. Who knows if the other groups have brought anything back? There could be some new hints that were retrieved and they consider making some announcement and are still talking it through right now to make sure that is the best option."

Yun Bei Fen nodded and then kept quiet. After a moment, his breath evened out and his whole weight pressed against Mei Chao Bing's body.

Mei Chao Bing raised his brows and peeked at his face, noticing that his little bunny had closed his eyes and fallen asleep again. So much for being alright now. Obviously, he was still very tired and had only leaped out of bed because he had noticed that he was alone. Well, as long as the Elders weren't there yet, it wasn't a problem.

He just brushed through his hair again, rubbed his back and then continued to hold him. If he wanted to sleep, he might as well. In the meantime, he would be there to protect him.
