My name is God

The world fell underneath me, my entire body consumed by a void. The world slipped away as the timer hit zero. The towns consumed by a blinding white light. The players fell with me. Screams echoing in the hollow world.

'Loading...'

My body fell forward smashing into a table and cracking through the wood. Drinks spilled over the floor and splinters scattered around me like shrapnel from an explosion. I rolled onto the soft carpeted floor, my body thudding into the soft fibres.

"Hello and welcome."

I looked up, sweeping the splintered wood from my head. I was in a huge bar. The floor was softly carpeted and the walls lined with TVs and scoreboards. In front was a small counter lined with drinks.

Standing at the front of a crowd of surprised players there were six figures all standing and staring down at us. I recognised two faces out of the six. The childish grin of Kyn and the official stare of Yuki. The man in the middle stood forward, he was wearing a robe and his face was a demonic grin, a bright red smile carving across the black in a perfect crescent. His eyes were the same and he looked terrifying. The view of his avatar smiling down with such wicked carelessness.

"My name is God

As you may have deduced, I am the creator of this game. So without further adieu I will now explain the game.

Each player has been awarded a certain number of Gems for their position in the rankings. To win this round you must end the time limit with one hundred gems. If you kill a player you will get their gems and if you quit all of your gems will be distributed between the players.

The number one player already has a hundred gems so killing him is the easiest way to win… although after watching him play maybe not. Hahahah

There is a limit of two thousand gems which of course means the limit for people passing is twenty. However it is possible for no one to win since we have two thousand people currently…

Any questions?"

The room was silent.

This can't be happening.

I'm now the target for everyone?

What the hell?????

I stared at my fellow players all looking at me like there was a huge bullseye on my head. The sight was terrifying and the feeling was worse, the pressure of thousands of blood lusts pushing down on my shoulders. The words "I'll kill you." seemed to drift over the silent room.

"How long do we have?"

"You have three hours."

"Can we respawn?"

The room was now alive with questions and queries, hands flooding the sea of people and voices raising.

The admins pushed back at the mob of questions overwhelmed. The man in front, God as he called himself, clapped his hands.

"Let's get started then shall we? Once you die ten times you will come here and watch or just log out. But most importantly let's all have fun!"

He bent over looking down at the mob like a child, his innocent devious smile staring down at the players.

People were stunned into silence. He didn't answer any questions!!!

But before the outrage could reach them the floor disappeared and we all fell into the abyss. Our last view was his hand waving down at us as we fell.

I fell into a forest, my body hitting the branches and crashing through the mass of leaves.

The teleportation system hates me!

I stood up carefully, my body aching as I stretched. As it is now I could win simply from hiding, I have enough gems to coast but what if they have some significance in the next round? If they didn't they could've just set a kill counter or a point system… The use of gems seems important, like you can buy event items with them. Also… If I collect all of them I'll win by default.

"There he is!"

"Yeah that's him!"

"ItsAssassin!!"

The rumbling of voices echoed and erupted through the forest, before I could even comprehend what was happening I was surrounded… there was an army of people closing in around me!!!!!

God dammit!

I drew my knife holding it in front of my body.

"He won't win if we all attack!!!"

"NOW CHARGE!!!!"

The footsteps rattled through my head as over a thousand people stampeded towards me. Instinctively I jumped upwards the players swarming underfoot.

'Unique skill 'Copy' activated - shockwave'

As I fell back to the ground my hand started to glow a bright pale blue emanating from my palm as I dropped down to the mass of weapons. As I collided with the ground my hand exploded pushing everyone back in a huge wave of energy.the players began to pick themselves up charging in. It was like waves attacking a beach, unrelenting and unconquerable.

I dug my feet into the ground awaiting the onslaught of players. My copy window opened as I desperately searched for a spell that would help. Everything that could kill would be too, or I'd lose all my mana. If they respawn close by I'll be done.

I scrolled frantically through the names, the boundless archives of skills flashing across my HUD.

Then it appeared, my saving grace… a skill I'd forgotten about, a seemingly base skill that was perfect.

The hundreds of players started to regroup knives, shields and swords all shaking as they charged, forming an indomitable wall of people.

I gripped my knife, staring down at one part of the enclosing wall, locking my target. I lifted the blade up to my face smiling.

The glowing blades hovered behind me as I moved forward, the power surging through my steps as I stampeded. The cuts showering down on the players carving through their heath and spraying blood in a cacophony of screams.

"Holy shit!"

"What the hell was that?"

"Who the hell is this kid????"

The rest of the players stepped back with their weapons dropping at the sight of the devastation.

The thunder smashed into the ground surrounding the players and trapping them in my arena.

"You can't just leave now. After all that big talk."

I walked back to them, the blood pixelating and drifting into ash. I then pointed my finger out and lifted my thumb up shaping my hand into a gun.

"Oh shit run!!!!"

'Unique Skill 'Copy' activated - 'Fireball' subskill paste x100'

The strength sapped from my body pouring into the fire forming behind me, the blue bar in the corner of my eye draining.

Then the heat started to bear down, the burning scorching my back. The fireballs hovered behind me building strength and staring into the faces of the terrified people. Their faces contouring with fear as their knees locked.

"Bang."

I flicked my finger upwards but the fireballs disappeared. A friendly smile formed over my face as I closed my eyes looking down at my former attackers.

"There's no point in killing all of you so bye. Don't try again or I'll eviscerate you." I turned waving behind me at the players, all of them grabbing their eyes and falling to their knees.

"What was he?"

"How can he be that strong?"

"He's amazing."

The compliments made me smile, it reminded me of my time in elementary school, the year where me and Ella studied hard and soared to the top of our class, people used to say things like that about her, me included. She was amazing.

Ella I hope I'm honoring your life, I hope I'm using the life that you gave me, so that one day… one day I can see you again.
