Chapter 14 - Vampire struggle

This brought a smile to her face, as she continued to train with the more power dummies, not caring for anything else.

In a blink of an eye, a year had passed since the vampire entered the castle training ground, she had done nothing but train with the dummies, after getting past the 3rd day without drinking blood, she soon realized that she could live well without blood but she couldn't get rid of her unending hunger.

Which continued to get worse every day but the plus side was the more she went without feeding the stronger she became, which further brought her power to a whole new level, after a year of constant training and not feeding she could feel the power coursing through her veins "I feel like a whole new person, now let see what those stone figures are protecting" she aimed to open the door behind the two golems.

She marched out of the training room for the first time in a while, being locked inside an underground training room the vampire had no idea how long she was there as her mind was focused on one thing alone it was almost like a program in her DNA to get strong enough to enter the door behind the golems, but to her it just felt like her curiosity was getting the best of her.

Before long she stood before the two golems, she could still feel the power emitting from the two but it wasn't as heavy as before, she drew her sword before getting closer to the door and as she had imagined as she crossed a certain distance the golem with the spear broke free before standing before the door, the golem spins it spear around its body in a fluid motion before pointing the tip of its spear at the vampire.

She had expected something like this the first time she saw the golems, she knew going through the other door wouldn't be easy, the golem stared at her for a while then nodding its earthly head it threw its spear away before reaching for it back and a sword appeared, the sword was half the size of the 18 feet tall golem, the golem took it fighting stance not even waiting for the dazed vampire to react, the golem shot towards her at a great speed, with it sword aiming to cut of her head clean from her body.

The vampire ducked at the last second after feeling an overwhelming danger coming towards her, she rolled away from the golem, she was shocked by the speed of the golem, it she had been a second late her head would have been rolling on the floor right now.

Even though she had dodged the attack she could feel a sharp pain around her neck, the golem dashed towards her again this time with a left swing a crescent-shaped arc was sent towards the vampire, this time around she was not so lucky as the sword attack cut right through her right hand from the elbow.

"haaaaaaaa" the vampire screamed in pain before subconsciously jumping backward the golem was about to attack again when it suddenly stopped before going back to its previous position beside the door.

The vampire saw the golem go back to its previous position, she looked around to see if there was anything different, and she saw a white glowing circle just a step from her feet, one wouldn't have to be a genius to know what the white circle means, but still, the vampire couldn't believe that she lost in just two attacks, she even lost her right arm.

This defeat dealt a heavy blow to her ego, how could she a being who had gone through evolution suffer a defect from a golem with no free will, taking one last look at the golems she went back into one of the rooms in the castle to look for anything to stop her bleeding arm.

After that she went back into the training ground this time around she vowed never to come out until she destroyed all the dummies in the training ground, she would train for 5 years without rest and blood, and now her pale skin was ashen, thick red veins, she looked nothing like a human being.

She was still training with her sword, she would try the moves the golem had used against her from time to time, during those five years she had challenged the golem more times than she could count her purpose wasn't to defeat it but to learn from it, every time she challenged the golem it move-sets would always change.

As a creature with near unlimited stamina her training with the golem would sometimes take days, she would try to study the golem to see if there was any pattern to its attack but as the golem continued to change its attack in every new challenge, reading it's pattern prove to be unnecessary.

By now the vampire sword mastery had improved so much that sometimes during her training she could feel herself becoming one with her sword, today after five years she was finally going to face the golem for a year.

When her battle with the golem started she was barely able to counter the golem's attacks but still using her brain she was able to deliver a solid sword slash to the golem's leg, the golem barely moved an inch with the sword slash hit its leg, thrusting it sword forward the vampire was able to parry the sword away before doing a couple of backflips to distance herself from the golem but she made sure not to leave the white circle.

This was the first time she had hit the golem all her previous attempts during her training were either parried or blocked but this time she had delivered a hit to the golem, this little action made the vampire overjoyed as she could feel her improvement but now wasn't the time to think about such details, she still had a golem to defect.

The golem swung its sword aiming for the vampire's waist but she was able to slide under the sword delivering yet another hit to the golem's leg, her game plan was simple 'bring the tall golem to her size' with the energy she was drawing from the sword plus the power from her crazed state from not feeding for six years her speed was faster than what it should be.

She was too focused to notice such a detail, she only had one objective on her mind and that was to destroy the golem before her, after delivering more hits to the golem's leg she could see cracks spreading across the golem's leg, and then for the first time the other golem that the vampire had completely forgotten about broke free.

"What the heck, just one of you is too much for me to handle now two" the vampire cried but she was not going to back down, she had done far too much damage on the sword welding golem to retreat now but just to be safe she jumped to the edge of the white circle.
