The library and a strange man

The Royal Library is the biggest in the Northern Empire where only nobles could go but students of the academy could enter using the student pass. Whenever Avaline went to the library people stared at her with loathing eyes. So she started going at night when there were fewer people. She always covered her face before going inside. Handing her student card to the guard she entered the library. Royal Library never fails to astonish her. It had books of all genres. She went to the history section and looked for books on the great war between the South and the North. The War between the two empires is a common story, but she was looking for details about the great war hero, Duke of North Scheward Arthur.

In this continent the South was famous for advancement in magic, they had archmages, and the North had advanced war weapons. The late King of the North and the South decided to create weapons imposed with magic, but the Grand Duke of the West started a rebellion and brutally murdered the entire Royal family of the West taking control over the affairs of the state.

The present King, who was the former grand Duke 'Sabine Monal' is a tyrant who kills anyone who opposes his decision. High taxes, corruption, drug exports, and smuggling were common, in the empire. The majority of the commoners migrated to other countries a large number of migrants sought refuge in the North.

The empire welcomed them. The problem arose with the termination of the contract and the disappearance of the crown prince. When the King threatened the South with war who knew that the South would begin the war themselves?

The only reason how North won was the Duke of the South decided to leave the South and come to the North. The Duke also known as the war hero is the person who can blend his magic into a sword aura and they say the aura surrounding him makes the other person creep out, The same is the case with his son who is known as the 'ice prince'. Avaline had to write a book as her final year exam. The topic could be chosen by the students but the contents should be true. She picked up the books and went out of the library.

The sun had already set, and there was an air of silence. As she moved forward, she felt as if someone was following her. She started running out of fear when the man ran towards me and pointed a dagger at her.

"Why are you doing this?" she asked, trembling.

"Some stupid lady gave us a hell lot of money just to make you disappear" he replied with a smirk.

Suddenly, the morning incident flashed in her mind. She was so afraid her hands were trembling and her body went cold. All she wanted was time to stop because she felt so helpless, a tear dropped from her eye on the floor, and a sudden gust of wind flew. When she opened my eyes the time had stopped. Before she stood a still man who looked like a statue. She was shocked but more than anything, she ran away. It felt as if there was no end to the endless running. She went inside her house locked the door and went inside her room, where she started losing consciousness. Her mom came from the kitchen when she heard the door.

Normally she would greet with a sweet voice but there was no greeting. She knocked on Avaline's door but there was no reply.

She ran towards Avaline seeing her lying on the floor half-conscious the last word Avaline heard was her mom shouting her name "Avaline!!". She lost consciousness while looking at the blurry image of her mom.
