Broken expectations

The carriage dropped me at the dukedom castle. I tried to remember the contents of my dream but every time I tried it felt as if something was stopping me and my head would hurt too much. It felt as if the entire world was falling. At that time I only followed my instincts that were saying that dream was not just a dream.

"Mam, do you have the e-entrance card." asked the guard who stood at the big gate in front of the mansion.

"No, I forgot it at home but trust me I am Zill Artur's friend," I replied.

"I am a sorry lady, but we can't let you in." He told me.

I remembered my student ID that I showed at the gate and the guard let me in. I ran through the garden and bumped into a girl. She was tall and had her hair tied up in a ponytail. She looked at me as her hazel eyes shined bright.

"Are you alright man?" she asked. I was out of breath and unstable.

"Do you know where Zill is?" I asked her.

She looked at me and then sighed and replied "he is in the training ground."

I didn't wait for another second and turned around. She called me from behind and said "Miss, don't cry later." I didn't understand what she said and neither did I want to.

I ran towards the training area. The entire ground was filled with a dark aura in which Zill's silver hair shined brightly. People were lying down on the floor bleeding. For a minute I was too shocked to see the scene. There was blood on the floor when I lifted my head I saw Zill holding a person by his collar. The person seemed as if he would die the next second.

I couldn't bear the thought of Zill killing someone and shouted "Zill! What are you doing? Leave him right this instant."

Hearing my voice he turned back it felt as if he was trying to recognize me his deep blue eyes felt soulless as if they were empty. His cold gaze gave a shiver down my spine, but I still gathered my courage and stepped forward. I don't know why but he looked so confused and the only solution I thought of was slapping him so that he would come back to his senses. I slapped him on his face.

All the dark aura in the room dissipated and his eyes went back to normal, they were dark grey when he didn't use magic.

"Avaline" he looked at me in shock, placing his hand on his cheek that turned red due to my slap.

"Now you recognize me," I said looking at him in anger.

What the hell were you doing" I shouted at him.

He lowered his gaze and replied "I am sorry. it's just that I got angered."

"so what? does getting angry mean you're gonna kill every person you lay your eyes on? Is that your justification? Sorry isn't going to do any good Zill." I shouted.

He stepped a little forward and took my hand into his, I pulled my hand back and said "You disgust me." saying this I ran away with tears in my eyes. Like how could he do this? I didn't even turn back, if I looked back that day I would have known that I shattered someone's heart.

It wasn't the thought that someone was going to be killed that made me sad but the thought that the person who would have killed was no one other than Zill Arthur and this thought angered me more than the actual reason. I just ended up venting my anger and the pain from headaches on him.

 I went back to the castle with swollen eyes.

"Pack my clothes," I ordered Perry.

"But princess where are you going?" she asked.

"I don't know, but I will come back. so don't be stressed." I replied with tears.

"But princess....." she said looking confused. "

I smiled silently at her and left as soon as she packed up my stuff.
