chapter 1: Ran away

she ran as fast as her feet could take her.

she had been running all day long from that monstrous man who had been set to marry her by her step mom.

purity had been living with her step mom and dad with her step sister.

her mother has died ten years ago when she was only five years of age.

because her father couldn't take care of her by himself he decided to remarry again so that purity can get a mother's love just like other children.

when she had a mother again she became happy

soon her step mom gave birth to a baby sister who purity loved with all her heart.

she would love to play with her as soon as she came back from school and she really was extremely happy.

she will everyday tell her stepmom and dad how happy she felt to have a baby sister who she could play with.

everything was well untill her dad Wilson died of blood cancer leaving her under her step mom's care.

she remembered how her dad pleaded with Clara to always look after her and take good care of her always as her own daughter and the latter was like, " oh dear Lord why did you have to do this to us? why?" she was even unable to speak out

"promise me that you would take care of mine and Anna's daughter just like how we could when we were here Clara please!" Wilson pleaded crying painfully.

by that time purity was now 13 years old.

she got her dad's arm and spoke and tears.

" dad I know that you love me so much that you can't bear to leave me alone in this world but you do not have to worry about anything. we will surely go through this and you will get well soon and we all will be happy together with mama..." she sobbed.she was disheartened with her dad's situation but she knew what can't be undone

but as old as she was she had to stay strong and not to break in front of her dad to weaken him further.

" my baby has become such...uh! uh! a grown...uh! uh!" the more he spoke the more he coughed and purity was fast to give him a glass of water.

" don't speak father take rest please. you will be alright soon." she told him and Wilson looked at his daughter and tears flowed down his cheeks.

he didn't know if his daughter will be happy now that he is leaving this world provided that his wife too left earlier. he wasn't sure if Clara wasn't just having a mask on her real self just so that he can trust her but what was be supposed to do?

that was the last day she saw her father in this lifetime.

since then her life became a living hell to her. after her dad's funeral, her step mom changed drastically and it shocked her so much.

how she had thought that atleast she had one person left with her in this world to take care of her but oops!

things turned upside down for her, her life changed alot!

she could even sometimes go hungry all day and sleep in an empty stomach for a week!

she worked all day and night to even not have time to go to school.

the school was not her place to be as Clara always said to her when she spoke about going to school too with Rubby.

"school isn't for fools like you! your place is in the house!"

it lead to her staying at home for three good years! never went out of the house once.

now that she's seventeen in the next few days, Clara had brought home a man saying that he is her suitor!

the guy looked like a goon!

and she won't accept this no matter what! she has to act and find a way out of the house and seek help.

in her room where she does sleep where atleast was bearable, she used her bedsheets and tied to her window which she used to climb down and as soon as she got down she quickly ran and crossed the road

where she was going she didn't know, what was running in her mind was how to get out of the place so that she can stop the man from taking her with him to make her his wife.

she isn't even aware of all this wife thing and here Clara is subjecting her into

back in their house Clara was fuming mad when she couldn't find purity in her room

she locked her inside and was discussing with the guy on the price for her not aware that she might find a way to get out of the room.

"mom that fool left through the window. she isn't inside!" rubby shouted from the states when she came outside purity's room

if purity got married and the brideprice paid she would enjoy luxery to her content but now that she's gone what will they do?

all speculations ran in their heads

they rushed into the room and sure to what Rubby said no one was inside and there was it, the sheets connected through the window

"she must be nearby let's go and catch her before she could go far. I know her she isn't that strong to be very far by now." Clara said and was about to run out of the house when the guy he brought got her hand and spoke to her demandingly.

" if I do not get her in twenty four hours,consider yourself dead!" and he left without looking back!

both Clara and her daughter Rubby hugged each other afraid that he might harm them but nothing came.

when they heard footsteps they looked and saw him get in his Porsche and and accelerated away in a swoosh!

"thank goodness he has given me sometime to find her...come we must find her as soon as possible Rubby!" Clara got up and ran outside followed by her daughter. thy both were panting heavily
