Sending the Delivery Team

Lei Jin raised his brow in surprise and slight confusion before letting out a difficult sigh. "Elder Jun Bai's words are contradictory. What Elder has said just now makes it seem like I'm someone who doesn't give second chances. I sent the team as it is required by the Sect's Laws. I knew there was likely not many who would try to devour a Universe World's Spirit since it's also incredibly dangerous." Lei Jin started explaining.

"My apologies, Young Pillar. I didn't mean to insult you." Elder Jun Bai said, nervously.

"No need to worry about it. I was simply pointing it out. I may have been raised on the Ink Battlefield. However, that does not mean I would act out of anger. Besides, I have too much work on my hands as it is. Provided it is possible, I'd prefer to make big things small, and small things nothing." Lei Jin responded with a lighter tone.

"That's rich coming from the young man who looked like he was going to bite the heads off of the Artifact refiner men a month ago." Supreme Elder Mei teased a little.

"Ahahaha, that's right. He must have been quite disappointed they failed to keep up with the women, especially by that much." Elder Kong laughed.

"It was quite funny to see the looks on their faces. All scared and everything, I thought they might mess on themselves. Hehehehe." Supreme Elder Mei giggled.

"Is… is what they say true? Young Pillar?" Elder Jun Bai asked, terrified.

"Well, it is true that I did give them a piercing look… My In-Laws are just teasing right now." Lei Jin said.

"I… I see, then we should get ready for the delivery. My team is ready to head out the moment the packages are ready." Elder Jun Bai said.

"Good, summon them all here. I'll give them all a gift personally. I'd prefer you accept it without reservations. It will help you all a great deal." Lei Jin said, with a soft smile as he sat down at the table.

A short while later Elder Jun Bai came back with his team of 30 Cultivators all of which were at least 5th Rank with the potential to increase their rank in the future. Some were nervous and some excited. It was after all, a team scraped together at the last minute. The Headmaster of Myriad Demons was quite eager to do something as penance for his Sect's sin. It made sense since the rule generally would merit direct and total destruction of the entire Sect.

"Elder Jun Bai, and his team should relax. I want to give you this. It will help you on the way and in the future." Lei Jin said, raising a finger and shooting out a Rainbow Light to each of the team's members. "Now as much as I wish to spend more time talking, it would be for the best if you all head out as soon as possible. The Brothers and Sisters on the Battlefield need these supplies desperately. And we are entrusting the transfer to all of you." He added.

Lei Jin handed over a great many resources. There were several sets of things handed to each member of the team. This confused everyone. Since they thought it was best that the strongest among them held onto the resources.

Seeing the look on their faces Lei Jin cleared his throat to get their attention. "Achem… Everyone must be wondering why you have all received resources. Is this right?" He said, making sure before going into explanation.

"Young Pillar, we are just confused. Doesn't this just increase the chances of losing some of the resources and items that are meant to be delivered?" Elder Jun Bai said, after looking at his team's faces full of difficulty. And realizing his own had a hint of this difficulty as well.

"Your view is flawed. So allow me to correct it by posing a question. The one who answers it correctly will receive 30 sets of rank 6 materials and 3 sets of rank 7 to aid in their cultivation. So give it some good thought." Lei Jin said, with a half smirk on his face.

After a short wait one of the younger men in the team raised his hand. "Junior Brother Lei Jin, Is it because there will be a higher likelihood of the battlefield receiving something?" The young man who had recently broken through to the 6th rank answered inquisitively.

"Ahahaha! You are indeed correct! However, allow me to expand on it for you." Lei Jin said, pausing for a moment to thank that someone figured it out albeit partly. "If one of you is holding the resources and some unforeseen event occurs it is better to lose a small portion of the materials than it is to lose all of it. My human race has been fighting the Ink Clan since Ancient Times. And have been making do with extremely limited resources. Since we know how to fight this way, it is easier to fight with less than none." Lei Jin explained.

"The Young Pillar is truly wise. We will carry out your orders and advance to the battlefield with new wisdom!" Elder Jun Bai said, cupping his hands and a look of revelation creeping across his face.

"Then be off. I wish you a safe journey and hope that all of the items arrive safely. Each of them are crucial aid to all the battle fronts." Lei Jin said with a hint of worry and an overwhelming sense came over him. "So this is what it's like to give an order directly. One that holds their very lives in the balance." Lei Jin thought.

"As you command, Young Pillar! May your future be prosperous and your children grow up healthy." Elder Jun Bai said, followed by the rest "As you command!".

With that the team sent by Myriad Demons Cave Heaven set off. Knowing full well they will not return. The place they head now is a place only one was ever allowed to leave. Lei Jin himself was sending them there under his own direct order. It did in fact feel different when he was the one in front of them delivering the order. He took a sip of tea to bring some normalcy back to himself. Keeping a clear mind was important after all.
