Feeding The Wrong Flame

"Very well." Langya Headmaster said. "Fang Xu, come in and explain yourself to this Headmaster!" he added shortly after sighing.

The man entered and bowed, cupping his hands. "Headmaster I can not let this injustice befall Sister Gu Pan." Fang Xu said, then glaring at Lei Jin.

"Oh ho! Brother Fang Xu, seems to have some kind of hatred towards me. So explain!" Lei Jin said, in response to the look of contempt he received from Fang Xu.

"I just explained! I can not allow this Injustice." He shouted back. "Headmaster, not only is Lei Jin, undeserving of Sister Gu Pan. He is ignorant to a fault! Not understanding that I just explained why. Please take back your acceptance of his proposal, headmaster." he continued.

The headmaster was bewildered. Fang Xu had actually thought it was Lei Jin who proposed. Hell if it had been that way there would have been dozens of women lining up and all would be Great Emperors. Not a single Open Heaven. Clearly it was Fang Xu who had no idea on the situation.

"You want to stop this sister from marrying! Too bad I'm going to get married today, and there's nothing you can do to stop it!" Gu Pan said, angrily. She was obviously upset at the fact this Fang Xu was stopping her.

"I can't do that Sister Gu Pan. This Lei Jin is nothing more than a vile trickster! But if you won't yield then I must compete with him and take you for myself!" Fang Xu said, boldly.

"Just what kind of confidence do you have to say these things about my Fiance! He is stronger than you know! Moreover he loves me dearly!" Gu Pan said. "You… You're hateful!" she said, before walking over to Lei Jin and kissing his cheek.

"Fang Xu, you have already caused quite a stir! I suggest you stop pressing the issue." Lei Jin said, looking directly at Fang Xu.

"Fang Xu you have severely misunderstood…" The Headmaster started saying.

"I'm in love with Sister Gu Pan! I will accept any challenge to have her hand! If the Headmaster will accept this request I'd be forever grateful." Fang Xu said.

Lei Jin looked at the headmaster as well as Gu Pan. "Headmaster, why not allow him to compete with me? I have already accepted Gu Pan into my family and my wives have accepted her as well. While at this point it would be devastating to see her leave my side. I don't wish for a repeat of what one of my other wives went through. So I shall prove there is no one better suited for Gu Pan than myself." Lei Jin said, simply stating a matter of fact.

"Very well you will have two tasks. First you must provide a dowry gift to show off and flaunt your wealth. Second, you must each fight 1 on 1." Headmaster said.

"Headmaster, I accept this but it seems unfair for this Disciple to fight a great emperor while being an open heaven realm." Fang Xu said.

"Very well go at once and source your gifts." the headmaster said.

"No need headmaster! I am already done with the task at hand! Take these as a gift. With them you should be able to nurture your own disciples that study the esoteric daos of time and space." Lei Jin said.

He handed over two scrolls and 5 Artifact worlds along with several pieces of 5th, 6th and 7th rank Water and Fire materials. All of which are things he can make plenty of. He had a potentially infinite source of water and fire elements. And even the True Rainbows in each Artifact world were simple to create and cast.

"Wow, Young Pillar Lei Jin is exceptional indeed! To have prepared such a gift. Even though it was I who offered up the proposal of marriage." The Headmaster said, holding the exceptional gift in his hands and passing an Artifact world to a few others.

"Wait… the headmaster was the one who proposed this marriage?" Fang Xu asked now beat red.

"Yes it was this headmaster who first proposed the idea. I don't regret it. Lei Jin is quite the good youngman. Even if he is still a Great Emperor There have been many things he has done for my human race already." the headmaster said.

It was at this point the rest of the disciples had already left. No one else was daring enough to contend with such ability. However the moron known as Fang Xu was not impressed.

"I still can't accept it. He must be using some kind of trick, headmaster. Just look at him, he already has 6 wives. He is super young, I think this person is related to the ink clan! We mustn't allow this to stand!" Fang Xu said, trying to use the last method he could think of to sway the favorability towards himself.

The room fell silent as Fang Xu's words just fell out of his mouth. Each following one dug him deeper and deeper still. Lei Jin was doing his best to keep his composure but hearing such an insult made it quite a fair degree more difficult.

"What evidence do you have to say this young Pillar Disciple is an ink disciple? Such an allegation can not be treated lightly. If you really have a way to tell if he is one you should share it. So we will have an easier time in the future." the headmaster said.

"It's simple! There is just no way that Lei Jin could have been this strong. Or well off. His parents must also be ink disciples and in hiding." Fang Xu said, spewing more hateful lies.

"I would shut your mouth and begin begging for forgiveness right now Fang Xu! Or I can't promise your safety." the supreme elder said, appearing out of nowhere.

"Supreme elder, please I beg of you help this disciple. Lei Jin has deceived Sister Gu Pan and the Headmaster. I beg for your help. I know not how strong his inked parents are but I don't think I could handle them myself. Please I beg of you to help this disciple in writing this wrong." Fang Xu said, bowing deeply and smirking. "With the help of the Supreme Elder I'll be able to have Gu Pan as my wife. I'm much better than Lei Jin, who only uses tricks." he thought to himself.

There was a bit of a pause as the room looked at Lei Jin to see how things were going. To not a single soul's surprise he was furious. No! His fury was furious. They could tell by the look on his face and more importantly his hair and aura were flared. Fang Xu didn't pay attention and continued talking.

"Lei Jin knows nothing of what it means to lose something. His parents must have not taught him well. Heh, even his parents are hateful!" Fang Xu said, thinking that the silence was because he had hit the nail on the head.
