Incoming Threat

They paid two silver for grape juice to the waiter. They walked out of Erestenica. They tried to go to the market near the south gate. This market usually existed in the morning when many people were selling various things ranging from food to weapons such as swords, wands, and others. The sellers here also vary, there are people who are always honest with their buyers, and there are those who are deceived by 1 gold coin because they bought a fake sword. Leonarda told them that she wanted to buy a piece of chicken. They went to the butcher shop, which was served by an adult man. Leonarda tried to ask the price. However, she thought it was too expensive, one silver and one bronze. Maria tried to help her.

"Is there a discount?". Maria asked.

"No.". the man refused.

"I saw another shop that had chicken for 6 bronze one piece.". Maria with a smiling face.

"That shop probably lost money so they sold it cheaply, not the same as my shop, the quality is also different.". The man knew what was planned, which was to find a discount.

"Well, then I'll just go to the store that is losing money.". Maria tried to persuade him.

"Wait". The man shouted to Maria.

She smiled

"How about seven bronzes?". The man asked Mary

"Well I'll buy three for two silver five bronze." .

"Okay." The waiter didn't accept it because it didn't sell very well.

They were very happy because they got three chickens quite cheap. Soon, there was the sound of bells from the south gate. Then, someone shouted and ran from the other end of the market.

They saw 3 green goblins carrying sword weapons and 2 orcs carrying iron hammers that were bigger than ordinary humans. The monsters started walking in different directions. The people seeing them were speechless and all they could think of was to run. Maria let out a sparkling blue light that made the monsters unable to move. Then she issued the skill "Steel Resolve" which made the archer more focused than before. Then she gave the skill "Guided Fury" to Leonarda which could control the direction of attack desired by the user.

Leonarda saw a little girl crying because she was faced with two goblins especially since they hid their weapons behind her body. Leonarda knew what the two goblins were thinking, she immediately pulled an arrow from her bow at a distance of 10 meters. She released her bow and aimed at the goblins. The arrow went to the right and went to the side of the goblin's head, hitting him in the ear. They ran to the little girl. She was crying a lot because she just found out that there was a goblin that she thought was strange. Maria decided to take the child to a safe place and asked Leonarda to be careful of the orc with the big hammer. Maria drove the child to a safe place but she was confused about which place was safe in her mind. But there was something more important than that, she didn't know who this child was. Maria tried to look at this child because his face was quite familiar to her. Maria just realized something and drove to Erestenica with her teleportation.

She arrived at Erestenica, she saw that the waiter was quite panicked and it turned out that his slender yellow face and wavy hair were a pair of mother and son who went from being worried to being a happy spring because both of them were still alive.

"Thank you, arbalest." Said the waiter who was touched because his son survived

"Yes, thank you, sis," Maria replied

"Yes, you are welcome, I will go out first to catch up with my friend. It looks like he's having trouble. Just call me Maria."

"There are orcs huh?"

"Yes ma'am, it looks like a mess out there, I immediately took her home so I don't really know the conditions at the south gate."

"Maria, be careful they could have magic powers."

"Yes" she cast a teleport that appeared in a circle below and Maria flew together in the circle to the Leonarda.

Maria was at the market where there was food left on the ground. Maria ran towards Leonarda to see if she survived facing the 2 orcs because she was very worried. Because in the past she had almost died because of an orc who could attack a large area with the magic lightning ability on his hammer. It turned out that she saw Leonarda who had just been hit by an attack from an orc. Maria saw Leonardo's arrows in the eyes and stomach. She saw Leonarda's wound on the left shoulder which turned out to be an attack and she was trying to endure the pain that seemed to have a deep wound caused by the hammer attack from the orc. Maria gave her heal to Leonarda to eliminate the wound. soon the other orc ran toward the two of them. Leonarda tried to shoot her arrow again but the orc attacked Leonarda's arrow which made it miss the attack from him.

"Do you have any ideas, Maria?". Said Leonarda.

"I think so but I'll try first," Maria replied.

Maria said something while Maria's hand emitted a light in front of the orc which made his vision temporarily inactive which made the orc fall and try to eliminate the effect by rubbing his head. Meanwhile, Leonarda closed his eyes and said what he had in mind, namely "Augmented Strength". Leonarda opened her eyes to see that the surroundings were very dark but she saw a small and shifting point of light. Seeing that light, she prepared an archery position. Her hands positioned the bow and arrow to the light while her eyes did not blink at all as if she had hope that would never be extinguished. Leonarda released her archery and headed toward the point of light. then, the arrow shot into the light. after the light was shot with an arrow. The light shone around Leonarda and consumed the darkness. Leonarda closed her eyes and opened them again. It turned out that Leonarda saw his arrow hit the orc's right eye.

"That was very thin". Maria sighed.

"Thank you for your skill earlier, thanks to "Augmented Strength" I can focus more than before.". Leonarda said.

"Yes, you and your team are still the same as before," Maria replied.

"But this orc is so strange that he can survive my arrow attack even though he is not an orc warrior but his ability almost makes me unable to do anything let alone face 2 at once.". Leonarda was surprised.

"Was this orc attacking the same as the orc you killed?". Maria asked.

"No, the first one was quite slow when attacking so I attacked at close range so I put a gift in its eye.". Leonarda smiled while showing an eyeball from her pocket.

"You used to talk like that." Maria shook her head.

"But not this orc, he's quite different. I don't know if he was watching from a distance when I shot the orc at a close range earlier or what, it doesn't make sense."

"Yes, there is a point. We should report to the village chief about this." Maria advised Leonarda.

"Agreed."

Shortly afterward, a frightened man wearing armor stepped quickly. He ran while carrying a spear. He was a gatekeeper who always had to face any threat from outside the village that aimed at evil or destroying the village of Karatuaria.

" Maria, I need help to heal my advance troops at the south gate. I also apologize that orcs and goblins have penetrated the entrance.". the person with a trembling voice

"It's okay, at least we managed to kill him.". Leonarda replied to the gatekeeper.

"Let's go to the south gate. Mr. Guard please stay nearby.". Maria while preparing her teleportation skill with her staff and the guard nodded his head. Maria cast a teleport that appeared in a circle below and flew together in that circle to the south gate. They arrived at the south gate. This gate was the same as the north gate which was always covered with iron. If allowed by the gatekeeper then, it would be opened, but now it was different because they saw that orcs had broken down the gate. Leonarda saw this, was shocked because she just found out that there were orcs like that even though, orcs don't have intelligence and Leonarda thought the wall was broken down by orcs, but the fact was not like that. Leonarda tried to ask Maria.

"Is this big the effect of magic power or have you seen orcs like that before?". Leonarda asked.

"I think I've seen orcs but they were too far away. After all, this village and kingdom were detected by him. He could have finished off all the monsters but, he was too busy. If there are orcs like this, he should inform the village chief directly and after hearing the news, the chief will strengthen the north and south gates.". replied Maria

"I would also do that if I were him and would wipe out all the monsters, even though he only works halfway. Then choose another job." Leonarda shook her head.

"But if the monsters had been killed by him, we wouldn't all be adventurers. We'd be merchants or farmers.". said Maria.

"That's right, but I'm worried about her... I hope she's okay outside the village". Leonarda's anxious eyes about Sara.
