You found yourself outside of Mirror House's auction hall where the cold night air hit your skin. You were crouched down as red lasers cut through the building. You had long since ditched your gas mask and you had instead called in some back up. At least, you would have if you weren't still in the black out zone.
Y/N: Ok. In hindsight, this was a bad idea.
You looked at the hovering figure before you. From this distance, you could only see the red from his eyes and his suit. This Superman clone was seriously just a confused child. You needed to stop him before he leveled Gotham to the ground.
You reached into your belt and pulled out a special batarang which you threw at him. To your surprise, he caught it and crushed it like it was nothing. Green shards fell to the ground as he stayed unaffected.
Y/N: Shit.
The clone flew down to you at amazing speeds which you barely avoided. You tolled out of the way as he stood back up and glared at you.
Y/N: Look, whoever you are, listen to me. I know you're confused.
He fired off lasers at you which you avoided again.
Y/N: You need to calm down! Listen to me and calm down! I'm not your enemy!
Clone: I don't know who you are. I don't know who am....what's going on?!
He grabbed his head in confusion as you slowly reached out toward him. You knew what he was going through. You were there once when you lost your memory. The confusion, the fear, all of it.
Y/N: Just, calm down for a second. I know you don't want to hurt anyone. We can talk this through.
The clone zapped lasers at your feet which stopped you.
Clone: Not another step! Who are you? Why, why do I recognize that symbol?!
You looked down at the bat symbol on your chest and nodded. Right. He had Superman's DNA. In that case...
Y/N: I'm the Batman. I'm, uh, a friend of Superman.
Clone: Super...Man? Who...
He grabbed his head again and tried to think. Good. This was going somewhere.
Y/N: I'm here to help you. You were going to be sold off as a weapon. I can help you. I know Superman. I mean, he's gone at the moment, but I can still help you. You just need to calm down.
The clone shook his head as you noticed the Dealer was gone. Must've gotten away.
Clone: Superman. Batman. Wonder Woman?
So he had some faint memory of who they were. Good. You can work with that.
Y/N: Yeah. I know them to. As a matter of fact, I can introduce you to Wonder Woman. She's really cool. Really strong.
You lifted your hands up to show that you didn't mean harm.
Y/N: Let me help you. I know you're confused and scared. I can help. I've been there before.
You then held a hand out.
Y/N: Just take my hand.
The clone looked at your hand before slowly grabbing it gently. His eyes slowly turned back to normal as he looked at you.
Y/N: Good. You, you have a name?
The boy shook his head.
Clone: I don't know. I can't remember anything properly. Just blury images and names.
Y/N: Then we can worry about that later. For now, we need to get out of here.
Clone: Where will we go?
You gave it some thought before you sighed. This was Superman's clone. You knew what you had to do.--------You entered the apartment with the clone behind you as he looked around impressed. From the mini Batcave came Tim and Cassandra who looked worried.
Tim: GCPD said that there was an attack and who the hell is that?
The two looked at the clone and you smiled as you presented him.
Y/N: This is, uh, he doesn't have a name right now. Meet him at the auction.
Tim: And you brought him here?
Y/N: Yeah. He's Superman's clone. And, uh, Lex's but he seems cool.
The clone looked at Tim and Cassandra before he awkwardly held his hand out. Tim looked at you and you signaled for him to shake his hand. Tim did just that.
Tim: I'm Tim Drake. Robin.
Clone: Drake.
Tim nodded and the clone turned to Cassandra. She shook his hand.
Cassandra: Cassandra Cain.
Clone: Cain.
You nodded. You helped the clone to the couch where he sat down. You then turned to Tim and Cassandra.
Y/N: Call Cassie. And Jon. They should know about this.
Tim: Yeah. I'll get on the phone in the morning. It's 3 in the morning and they're definitely asleep right now.
Y/N: Whenever. I think we all need some sleep. Especially him.
You all turned back to the clone who was looking at the TV remote with interest.
Tim: Right. There's an extra room here, right?
Y/N: Yeah. Our room, two guest rooms.
Tim raised a brow and you had caught what you said.
Y/N: Our as in, mine. Mine, Cassandra's, and a guest room.
Tim just slowly nodded.
Tim: Whatever. I'm calling it for the night. If you need help, let me know.
Y/N: I will. Thanks for the help.
Tim nodded and took his leave for the night. You turned to Cassandra who was already looking at the clone with a smile. She then turned to you with puppy eyes.
Cassandra: Can we keep him?
You just sighed. Maybe having him around would be useful. At least, you hope so.-----------Cassie: This is weird.
Y/N: Extremely.
Jon: I always wanted a brother!
The three of you were in the living room with the clone who was looking at Jon. The two looked almost identical.
Cassie: So....what do we do with him?
Y/N: We can't let him fall into the wrong hands. That being said, he's too dangerous to leave on his own. I think we should keep him here so we can monitor him for the time being.
Cassie: Here? You and Cassandra can take care of him?
You shrugged.
Y/N: Cassandra already's taken a liking to him. She seems to think he's a pet. I swear, she's just happy that someone else is eating now.
Cassie laughed while Jon and the clone mirrored each other's movements. Jon turned back to you with a wide smile.
Jon: He's so cool. It's like an older brother or something.
Clone: Brother?
Y/N: Right. Uh, he doesn't have a name.
Cassie: So what have you been calling him?
Y/N: "Hey" or "you" mostly.
The clone returned his attention to the TV where some old sitcom played. It was actually the same one Megan had gotten her name from.
Megan: Come on, Conner! We have to go to the mall!
Clone: Conner?
You and Cassie looked at each other.
Y/N: You like that name?
Clone: Conner? I guess.
Jon: Then your name is Conner! Conner Kent!
Cassie: Kent?
Jon: Well he's my brother technically, right? Then he's a Kent!
You couldn't argue with that. He wasn't wrong.
Y/N: Alright. In that case, Conner.
Conner looked at you.
Y/N: How well can you control your powers?
Conner sat up.
Conner: It's the only thing I know I can do.
Y/N: Good. How would you like to work with me and finish something important?
Cassie and Jon looked at you.
Cassie: Really?
Y/N: Yep. We can't rely on Jon for stuff like this. He should be focusing on his education first and being a hero second. He's, no offense Jon, not ready to be Superman.
Jon: I agree!
Y/N: But we have Superman's clone here. He can step up and take his place. He looks like he's our age anyway. The world needs the Trinity to lead the Leauge. He's the missing piece.
Cassie gave it some thought and turned to Conner was still standing there. Cassie finally sighed.
Cassie: Conner, you wanna do this? You wanna fill in for Superman?
Conner looked at you and you gave him a reassuring nod. Conner smiled.
Conner: Yeah. I want to do this. I, I feel like I want to do good.
You smiled as you crossed your arms.
Y/N: Alright, then. Let's start with finding the Dealer that got away.
