Arc 15, Prologue of Blood Chapter 111, Level Boost

"Morning, Arata." Hiro greeted me as I passed by him in the hall way.

"Morning, Hiro." I answered.

"You better hurry or you'll be late." He smiled.

"Yeah." I answered.

I've just entered our classroom when the bell rings. I sit down and wait as the lecture begins. During the lecture I feel someone staring at me and I turn to see Karin glaring at me.

"Ignore her." Alexis who shared the same lecture as me says.

After class we head to lunch where Will and the others have gathered. May and the girls are all there when we arrive. I sit down in my seat and the moment I do, Mao hugs me.

"Mao, let go." I complained.

"No way." He answered before Will glared at him.

"So, let's talk about what to do next." May said.

"Right now, the Azure Dragon and Magician of Verdant Blooms are nowhere to be found." I stated. "I sent Growth to the place where they were only to find nothing."

"There's nothing abnormal for now with the Chimeras." Lyzander said. "There's something bothering me but it seems to be nothing to worry about for now."

"There seems to be no sign of the other Gems of Sin so I think we can safely say that whoever has been handing them out is taking a low profile for now." Van stated.

"Let's all relax for now." I told them.

As we all ate our lunch, my thoughts wander to the Chimeras, the Guardians, to Saint and my own power. If I recall correctly, Elias and the others said that my power isn't complete yet, as I have not summoned my Flower. If I could learn what my flower is then I could be even stronger than I am now. But, no matter how many times I try it won't bloom. For now, it might be best for me to practice my spells and abilities for now. Lately, I've been using them a lot after all. I might as well call it preparations before the search for the Azure Dragon.

After class in the afternoon, I head to the training room where Pres. Mayumi and Hatori were. It seems that there were a few others in here as well but I think it's fine to practice here. I spot Touya among them and call him over.

"What is it?" He asked.

"Can I ask you to help me practice my magic?" I asked him.

"Sure, what do I have to do?" He asked as he took out him weapon. A long sword.

"Just be prepared." I answered.

"Okay then." He answered.

"Beloved Bloom, Beloved Petals, Beloved Gold, I wish to remain by thine side. This love found after a thousand nights. My name is Argent, an forgotten light. My name is Arata, a golden light of day break." I chanted and my body began to glow. A ring of eight petals surrounds me and blooms. "For you who reach for the azure skies, I allow this ancient light to envelop me. Echo, voices of you who have walked this path, let the lamplight engulf all, ancient flower, ancient bloom, devour all and bloom!"

I'm engulfed by the golden light and behind me a larger version of our crest made of light emerges. I hope this spell works. It seems everyone has stopped their training to look me.

"Grow. This vessel, this power. A tower of riches for a tower of wishes. Until the tolling of the bell, grant forth great strength and power." I chanted and the petals behind me began to glow and spin. "Grow! For those who have yet to be blessed by the Ancients. This power granted by the Ancients, as the seeds grow, the flower buds and blooms, lend your ancient might upon the brave warriors headed for battle, Level Boost!"

The petals bloom and a stream of light shines and links to Touya and he is engulfed in a golden light.

"How is it?" I asked.

"Ummm... what is this?" He asked.

"Level Boost. Basically it allows you to somewhat keep up with Will and Theo's teams power." I answered. "It's a spell I'm trying to perfect."

The glow fades and my petals shatter before Touya can even use an attack. It isn't working. Do I need to boost it more?

"Arata, that spell, can anyone use it?" Pres. Mayumi asked.

"I don't think so. Level Boost is a power imbued to the Sacred Flower when they elect the Vassal Braves and Swords that serve them." I answered. "I somehow managed to recreate that power and created a chant but as you can see, it doesn't work as well as I want it yet."

"I see." She sighed.

"Maybe it's because you used so much words?" Karin said mockingly.

"Just now, you casted two spells." Van said as he walked towards me. "The first one, Ai no Tame Ni."

"Ai no Tame Ni?" Touya asked.

"For Love. A magic that works in conjuction to spells he already knows. In other words, he was trying to cast Level Boost on everyone here but lacked the Vi maintain it." Lyzander said as he walked beside Van. "The original power of the Le Fleur is to give Braves power, which is why there always Braves protecting it. If anything happens to the essence of the Le Fleur, all Braves would be affected after all."

"Keep trying. I'm sure you can perfect it." Van told me. "I know you can. We'll keep it a secret from Will and the others."

"Thanks." I answered.

For the rest of the day, I practice with Touya, Pres. Mayumi, Van and Lyzander the new spell I'm trying to master. I've been struggling till the sun finally set. Van says to take a break and try again tomorrow so I agree and we head back. No matter what, I have to learn and master this spell. It should give us a good boost in battle if I could master it. Especially against the Chimeras.
