Their Verdicts

The girls received their verdict and it wasn't looking good for Elizabeth. As she was still sulking and depressed by her first performance being horrible and wasn't to her best done for the day. The others were trying to cheer her up saying there's still two more attempts at the exam to set things straight.

Best thing right now is to keep Elizabeth a float and not let her sink into despair. Who knows what might happen. Plus she may or may not melt down if things go haywire on her magic. Which is the last thing humanity wants right now.

I don't know how much damage she could cause if she loses control but I bet the entire world that's the thing we'll be losing if we mess up big time.

"Alright settle down ladies. I know you all are a bit sad right now. Miss Elizabeth, I want you to chin up." Miss Ivy walks towards Elizabeth as she is crying.

"C'mon Miss Elizabeth this incident was expected. Miss Ivy was testing your wits out there and she probably went too far on you. No need to cry for now, I tell you Miss Ivy will lessen the burden on you on the second attempt don't worry you haven't failed yet." Miss Claire confronts Elizabeth as she was barely audible when responding to that only she could hear it.

Elizabeth reluctantly stands up to face Miss Ivy right up in front. Raises her head slowly to show how she feels towards the words Miss Ivy gave to Elizabeth. But something's off… Something unusual about Elizabeth today.

"I'll do it." Mumbled Elizabeth.

"Come again dear?" Miss Ivy asked.

"I said I'll do it!" Elizabeth raised her head reluctantly, increasing her volume.

"Do what exactly dear?" Miss Ivy isn't backing down it seems.

"I'll do my second attempt." Elizabeth's aura is different from just a few seconds ago.

Miss Claire immediately started to write down the verdict of Elizabeth even before she went into the test room for one more try. I wanna know what happened to Elizabeth, and why she suddenly became intimidating in just a few seconds.

"I have a lot of changes I'm gonna be doing in your second attempt, Miss Elizabeth. Do your very best out there my dear." Miss Ivy's tone did shift a little but wasn't noticeable by the normal human ear.

Seems like both of them are getting serious. Elizabeth has been emitting some kind of powerful magic ever since she cried. Maybe her magic is connected through her emotions. We may or may not have awoken inside her.

I'm hoping this isn't gonna be destructive. I'll prepare myself for the worst if that ever happens. Protection of everyone around me, her, and myself is top priority.

"I'll do my best this time, Miss Ivy. I promised everyone that I'll do my best out here." Battered and still torn Elizabeth walked inside.

Everyone looked worried about her situation. Miss Claire thankfully stepped up into making a move to help her to say the least.

"I can't let a student out there do the test battered. I'll heal you up enough so you can do this but I'll make sure you'll rest after this so do your best Elizabeth." Miss Claire casts healing magic.

"With that settled down now Miss Elizabeth. Don't go too hard on yourself, you already forgot the things I told you guys from before. But I understand the disappointment and the unsatisfactory performance out there.

I know your ego would be very hurt. That was on my part and I apologize, I was merely testing you out and I went too far. I'll make sure I can make up for the things I've done from the previous test." Miss Ivy changed tones again in a regretful way.

"I'm fine now, Miss Ivy. I was just overly confident on my end as well. I overestimated my first test, it was partly my fault too. I wasn't as careful as the others. But I won't make the same mistake the second time." Elizabeth replied with a bit of her composure returning quite quickly.

It is unusual for someone to bounce back so quickly from getting sad. This might be the influence of her magic. I've read somewhere from the archives while I looked around that Magic can also be manipulated through emotions.

And Elizabeth is more confident than usual. It could be that she found her motivation or that her magic forced her to bounce back from that depressed state of hers.

What happened next was something unusual… Elizabeth suddenly got better, her magic power and everything got better. What is she doing?

Meanwhile on the Overwatch Tower of the exam area…

"Surprising ain't she eh, Ivy?" Miss Claire asked.

"Not much but she is very much capable of pulling herself out of the shadows. I'll talk to Beatrix later about this." Miss Ivy replied.

"Understood. We got ourselves a student who's gonna be very much a handful especially in the future." Miss Claire gave her final thoughts.

Back in Elizabeth's test…

She's just going through all of them like they're twigs or something. I can tell Elizabeth isn't holding herself back. I can feel her determination on her eyes burning bright.

Moving quicker and quicker the more I watch her overtime. Despite the exam ending it felt like it was done in one fell swoop. While this was happening our amulets started to resonate suddenly. We were surprised that our amulets were glowing.

We can feel our magic suddenly getting powered up. From where though? Hailey and the others were confused about the situation and why they suddenly felt powered up.

Elizabeth is at her final test, and from the looks of it she's not holding back not one bit. First time I saw her using her magic well. That's odd… I thought Elizabeth doesn't know magic.

After a few minutes later the test ended successfully and Elizabeth is now smiling from the redemption she did. She does look very tired so Mia and Hailey helped her sit down on the benches.

"Alright you ladies are finally finished. I'll be giving out the verdicts on your performance. Also these verdicts we'll be giving are all personal opinions and will not affect your results.

Actually, all of you girls passed. We'll be just giving out what we think was your performance out in the test. Starting with?" Miss Ivy looking through her clipboard.

"Miss Sylve, you were great with crowds from the looks of it. My verdict would be that you are a wonderful support the frontlines would have. Congratulations." Miss Claire gave her verdict.

"Miss Sylve was an impressive support. I can't deny that. But you need to improve upon your defenses not all the time your allies will be there when you least expect. Plus your endurance needs some work otherwise a great job." Miss Ivy nodding as she gives her verdict.

Everyone was happy for Sylve and I gave her a high-five to congratulate her.

"Alright next up is Miss Mia, an unexpected performance from a family line known for White Mages. Your battle performance is pretty great for a White Mage of your caliber. Excellent job." Miss Claire gave her thoughts on Mia.

"Ah yes, Miss Mia. Your parents will be proud of you for performing well in this test. As expected your healing performance will be the best one out here. What's surprising is you didn't get caught up on being on the offensive with a great performance overall Miss Mia. Congratulations." Miss Ivy praised her performance.

Mia was relieved after hearing the verdict. She felt like she could finally breathe again after being anxious about it.

"Next up is Hailey. Balanced performance out there in my opinion. Very good at all types of situations. But it's best that you pick up a specialization at least once so you can master at least one of them." Miss Claire gives good feedback on Hailey's performance.

"I agree with Miss Claire. Being a jack-of-all-trades is nice but it can get overwhelming at times especially when you can't do at least one of them at the best point of the moment. So we do recommend you pick up at least one and the rest you can still keep up the good work." Miss Ivy gave an honest opinion.

Hailey wasn't surprised that she was too overly balanced. She gave a sigh and thought about improving what she could make her specialty. Which takes time of course.

"Alright, the moment of truth. Miss Elizabeth, you 100% redeemed yourself today. Overall in my opinion you just need more control over your magic and that's it for me to be honest." Miss Claire gave a short but nice verdict to Elizabeth.

"First of all I still apologize for the harsh first test you have to go through. But you were exceeding expectations on the second test Miss Elizabeth. That's something to be proud of. And my overall final verdict for you would be to maximize what you've learned here and keep on growing." Miss Ivy finishes the final verdict on a nice note with the rest of them happy for their results.

"Don't worry Bea. We'll cheer for you!" Mia fist pumps.

"Good luck on your test Bea." Sylve pats my shoulder.

"Miss Beatrix, could you talk with me for a minute? We have something to discuss first before we start our test." Miss Ivy approached me.

I followed her and began discussing something for my test.

Thank you for picking up the newest chapter!
