A Dream Broken

CLICK! CLACK!

A man walked across the marble floor with slow, measured steps, his shoes making those clacking noises whenever they touched the floor. He looked around with no hurry as if whatever it was he was after could never leave his sight.

He tied his hair up in a ponytail. He wore a black coat that seemed to cover his body. He was really like someone out of a detective movie. As for why he chose to dress like this? Nobody knew…

He noticed a pair of broken glasses on the floor, along with shattered tile pieces all over the place which didn't seem to contain or rather, had lost the same subtle glow they originally had.

Ahead of him laid a body strewed and mangled on the marble floor, an arm seemed to have been detached and the legs, if they could be called that, were irredeemable.

He had bloodshot eyes that seemed to spill over with tears of rage, but his expression was that of helplessness and regret that could nothing but accept their fate…

The man continued on, his steps remaining the same even at the sight.

Slow and Measured.

Finally he came to a halt, standing before the blood strewed body holding unto a face of amusement and pity, shaking his head. One could see his hands shaking if they were more observant, but he enclosed it into a fist the rage he seemed to feel being unable to hide itself as violent winds blew shattering this already broken dimension further.

He couldn't understand why this man was on the floor tainted like this…

"I guess even dreams die hmm?" He seemed to be speaking to himself as he let out a light chuckle, but nobody could be sure.

He sat against the pillar that happened to be next to the body, one leg up. When he was settled down he took a look around the temple.

It really was a beautiful sight to behold. Giant pillars reaching for the Heavens, even seemingly breaking through the space that had already been fractured. They were what held up this temple of blues and whites.

Ancient lamps that seemed to have never been put out, glowed with blue flames providing a white light within the open roof temple.

This place separated from space and maybe even time seemed to be a temple remembrance. Statues that were lined up in no particular order filled the hall. Each seemingly claiming a domain. Holding a section of the temple to themselves.

The statues seemed to speak to the soul, begging… no… demanding reverence from all who laid eyes on them. But the man who sat against the pillar next to the body and countless seemed to look at them both with contempt.

The fact the some of their statues, sat… grinded to the debris spread throughout the temple, already showed how weak they were. The strong would not be so easily defiled. They wouldn't lose their glow so easily.

Everything that was intact though, glowed with a subtle light. As if unreachable… ethereal. But of course the man seemed to hardly noticed, or maybe such dim lights could never catch his eyes.

"R..ra…ven.. Cough..cough…" The body strewed on the floor slightly parted its lips to speak only to be met by a series of horrible coughs. His hair which seemed to change between black and silver occasionally barely being able to cover the silver light in his eyes.

He looked really intoxicating… all met with the state he was in would feel endless pity.

"Hmm, I guess dreams don't die so easily after all hmm?" The man known as Raven looked on with amusement. If one just focused on his expression as a whole, they might never notice the tears threatening to spill from his eyes, nor the blood that seeped from his palm as his nails dug in.

The young man strewed on the floor who went by Dreame raised a hand up to the sky as if trying to grasp the few stars that could be seen in this shattered world. Alas he had not the strength nor the ability to do this. He slowly dropped his hand back, turning his head towards Raven.

Raven never took his eyes off him, taking in the action he had just witnessed. He spoke.

"They are all gone as well… Can you fix this?"

It felt less like a question directed to someone who had not the ability and more like a question to one who had to make a choice. Someone who provided his only chance. Dreame was his only chance. He knew it was selfish, He knew the man had tried it all. But it couldn't end here.

"I…cough…cough. I would not do them well… by leaving the world like this." Dreame spoke, no one sure what exactly he meant when he referred to the world.

He turned towards the statues within the hall that bled with arrogance. They seemed to be telling the world to look. To marvel at their presence, but the only two within the hall, or so it seemed, did not put them in their sight at all.

Dreame's eyes sparkled. Some of the statues that had not fallen shattered directly. Raising violent winds that breaking the once stable space within the temple.

'Weak… They dare?' Dreame had an expression of self-mockery. After all, he was the one on the ground. Who was he to judge?

"Help me up." Dreame asked no one in particular. But it could have only been Raven.

Raven tried to sit up whatever was left of Dreame's upper body against a pillar. The pillar's subtle light seemingly wanting to fight against his presence only to be eroded all the same. The only reason it seemed on to turn into a cloud of dust was the light keeping its pieces together.

"I guess… I'll be forgotten…" It seemed that Raven tended to ask questions, but questions he didn't seem to want the answer to. He got on his feet, taking out a cigarette pack, pulling one out and lighting it.

Dreame looked towards Raven and sighed. "All Karma… must be completed. You shall not be forgotten."

Raven froze. The tears that were being forcefully held back, finally spilling. He sighed to himself when he calmed down… suddenly blood seeped out the side of his lips.

'Haha… Marvelous…' He thought to himself. It seemed that his injuries were greater than he thought. He would not live long. He quickly wiped away the blood and tears looking towards Dreame once more, with a wide smile.

"Draw the symbol." Dreame's eyes gained a hint of unwillingness, even at his expense he had to.

He could feel the life force of Raven fading. The others were already gone. He had to.

Raven left Dreame, using the blood from the rest of his body to draw a sign and symbol on the floor around the pillar upon which Dreame leaned.

If one looked towards the ring on Dreame's hand remaining hand they would see the same symbol, maybe the ring held some power. Maybe it was nothing but a décor. But the story hardly ever went like that.

"My journey of a thousand years has only began, but this karma must be completed. They cannot be lost."

Dreame seemed to speak in riddles as his only arm drew strange signs into the void, completing the runes drawn from his blood.

"Chaos is all encompassing, Order is all knowing.

"Επιδιώκω το χάος για να αποκατασταθεί η τάξη!"

As the words were spoken, the world quaked. Any modicum of stability instantly shattering, the temple threatening to fall apart. Even the little blue flames on the ancient lamps were directly put out. Anyone who witnessed this would be shocked beyond comprehension.

All this happened but for a moment. Then it happened… the dimension collapsed, no, it seemed time and space was being pulled in together, rewinding itself. Going back to before it happened…

Going back… to the beginning.

A young man was seen speed biking a bicycle across the green rocky mountainous terrain. Pulling tricks only professionals would. Eventually he reached a minor cliff, which had another cliff on the other side of its minor ravine.

One would expect him to slow down but the silver light in his eyes only seemed to increase, breeding excitement. He reached the turning point, creating a now or never situation and…

He did it.

Right at that moment, he pulled a tail whip landing and reaching the cliff on the other side before he came to a grinding halt. He faced down, his two friends, Ben and Nathanael still reeling in shock at what they had just witnessed.

There was a certain sort of silence as the wind blew… Nature seemingly humming for all to hear its beautiful melody. The scenery, from major boulders to lilies surrounding the greenery… There was something all so beautiful about it all.

The boy who was taking in what he, looking just about ready to explode, finally did. Jumping up with excitement, both hands raised.

"HELL YEAH!"

"Mother of… How did you pull that off?" Two boys were at the side were dragging each other's clothes as they pointed towards him. The gap between the cliffs might have looked small in measure but no matter what, it was no small stretch saying he could have died.

The boy calmed down a bit wiping the sweat that had built up on his forehead. He would be lying if he said he wasn't scared. "Because I am Crow, Fucking, Walker!" He couldn't help but scream once more.

"CROW! What Did I Tell You About Doing These Dangerous Stunts?!"

A brunette lady with amber eyes came out from a house nearby shouting with a kitchen knife in her hand as if looking to stab someone. She had been looking out the window when she saw her son looking for a way to die.

"Guys! What are you still doing there don't you see me running?" Crow was already over a hundred meters away, running towards the other sections their little village which was in the distance.

"What? Wait for us idiot! Your mother will kill us!"

Crow laughed aloud once more, his beautiful short raven hair flowing backwards in the wind. The smile on his face enough to collapse a city, little did he know that his first major tribulation would soon befall him…

[Author's Note: What do you think? Take a guess at what happened to dream wont ya?]

I was having this creativity and I just had to pen it down. This is the prologue, and I will continue it regardless.
