Chapter 3 : Vow to the Master

I then walked past him and he caught me by the shoulders right at the spots he can touch my skin, whispering strange words into my fox ears before actually talking to me with his deep voice, he could kill me at any moment...

"Your report."

I show him what I've noted in the paper I'm holding, he keeps his hands on me, without looking at it, I could know how tall he was just by looking at his shadow.

"From now on, I'm your master. Speak your name and ask me your selfish wish."

So intimidating, yet he isn't as bad as I thought he was, most people hated him with no reason, they feared him, they wished to kill him, but just a glimpse of this got me thinking otherwise. I don't know anything about him nor does he knows anything about me.

Deep down, inside my heart and soul, the next words that are coming out of my words are what I selfishly want without a doubt, so I breath just for this one time to answer as calmly as possible.

"I wish to live, to serve you, to get stronger. I want to change my friends perspective on you and to bring back those I love."

"You wish for too much. Now, speak your name."

"Ellen."

"Now Ellen, I'll bind you with a contract. You can't refuse or you die."

"Will you liberate one of them ?"

"I'll see who is worthy of being an ally, I myself hate using torture. Let's talk about the contract now. Pretty simple, you're gonna vow to devote yourself to me your master until one of us die. Now promise me that you will never betray me, no matter what happens."

"If I refuse this can I live ?"

"Don't ask such question, I have to make sure that you yourself is worthy of being my ally, Fallen Hero Ellen."

He screams strange words into my ears with a scary voice, something that I couldn't ignore at all.

"Now, it's time for you to suffer or else this contract would have no meaning. I'm gonna do a move on you but worry not."

I'm not worrying, he took the paper of my hands.

He teleported in front of me at a distance of 5 meters, I tried to keep calm and at the same time looking him into the eyes.

"Now, I want you to keep your eyes open. Everything will be okay."

"Actually I have two names so do I have to tell you both ?"

"Doesn't matter, I already know."

"You're kind."

"Keep looking at me, I want you to understand who you are speaking to Ellen."

He took his time, a few more minutes than that and I would have been gone, I almost closed my eyes because of how tired I felt, he ran towards me and I couldn't move even if I tried to, was it the strange words he spoke that made that possible ? I wasn't even able to close my eyes, the demon lord showed me a big smile and right after...

He took my right eye out of my body, I couldn't withstand the pain, I screamed, I screamed and I screamed, I couldn't stop screaming.

I was forced to watch what he was doing to my eye he was holding in his hands.

"Such pretty eyes, you are the last of your kind. So show me your loyalty and I'll give it back. Tell me who I am and who are you."

I'm still in pain, I can feel the blood coming out of my missing eye, I can see it, the pain won't stop.

"You...are the... Demon Lord. My Master... aaargh. And I am... your..."

What am I to him ? I need to know, I have to say it but I don't know, I scream in pain again... seeing my own eyeball being in his hands, I get myself wetting my pants, he even see it and how scared I am, I use my last remaining strength to answer, because of his spell I can't even be inconscious.

"I'm... Ellen. The Fallen Hero..."

"Now now, I want you to say something else. Something that shows me how much you want to get your eye back."

"I'm your pet ! I vow to you my true Master to be your pet until death ! I'll do anything in my power to serve you !"

"Mh... Fixing you might not be possible. Let me take out your other eye."

I'm scared, he says stranges words that should remove the spell but I can't even move how I want to, instead my body fall on my knees towards him, he takes me by the head and lift it so that I can see him.

"Who am I ?"

"You are my master ! I'll never betray you ! Even if I'm in love !"

"Good. That's what I like to hear. Now that the deed is done I can fix you."

I feel like I'm slowly dying.

Was it really worth living ?

It's too late now.

I can't go back.

"Please do, master. I'll do anything for your sake."

"Let's make a baby then."

What !? This shouldn't be okay ! How do we even make babies !? And if I do get one someday, will it be an egg or not !?

Just thinking about it, made me forgot about this unbearable pain.

"I'm joking, this eye now has a power of mine. It will grow stronger as you use it."

Master fixed me, my eye was back to my body, my body was healed fully and the pain was finally gone.

"Ellen, if you ever fall in love. Warn me. Love can corrupt people, even I the strongest of all demons."

"Master... who am I again ?" I ask.

"You are Ellen, my adorable pet. You obey every order I tell you. Wherever you go, make them understand who we are."

"Why didn't you kill my friends ?"

"You no longer have friends. You are a pet, pets do not have friends."

"I wish to know ! Else how can I know what I'm supposed to do ?"

"This old leader of yours, she has the power to kill God. Without her, it's near impossible."

"Why do people hate you ?"

"It's because of God, he used an high level hypnotism power that control brain waves and makes anyone he chooses hate me from the moment they were born."

"I think I get it now ! Master and I are the same."

"No, the God I know of didn't care the slightest about the kitsune race. If you have questions ask me later. Go back to your room, food will not be ready until we get delivered."

What the fuck ! Did he say the food would be delivered ? How ? I destroyed the world so how in the world can it be possible !?

"I can tell you a thing. I know how much gods exists, the one I care about is the Oldest and the Strongest. Thankfully he can't move from his place after I sealed him, but he still has enough powers. To quickly top it up, 9 other gods exists and most likely one of them hates kitsunes."

"How many days before we get in your homeworld, my lord ?"

"Just two days, tomorrow you will free this beargirl, Shadow told me she was a good cook."

I do not answer anything and go back to my room, I go straight for the bed, not being able to take a shower, I try to see into the future but the only thing I see is a fat guy farting, disgustingly fat, I mean I wasn't born to hate fat people, I just do hate them. And why is he looking at me with such a smile, go die somewhere I can't see you !

The day is over, I had to change my clothes to my pajama and then sleep in my bed, it smelled good... and I'll never forget the pain of losing my eye once, I know I'm pretty but it doesn't mean I want to hear it from you.

I fall asleep as fast as I stop thinking.
