Chapter 11: Known Love Lost Hope

Everyday was the same. Autumn was waking up everyday in the old man's shop, looking at the blood shane on the floor. She had remembered her and Adam's conversation last night and had smiled. She didn't understand the feeling all that much. But she knew every time she had seen Adam she was closer to the only person who could actually understand her more than anyone else would. Adam is what made everyday different for her. But she knew if she had told Adam how she had felt, that her father would go after him next. Even though the letter said differently. She still couldn't believe it.

Adam came to pick Autumn up from the shop. Autumn sat down in the car and closed the door.

"So why are you sleeping at the shop when there are apartments? I'm sure you can buy one." He asked with a small smile.

"Because if I use the money I, you know, stole I would go to jail and be cuffed by you." She said.

"Well, what if I didn't say anything?" He asked smiling.

"Wouldn't you get in trouble for that?" She asked laughing.

"Maybe. But it's better for you to have a place to live, right?" He said.

Autumn couldn't help but smile "Yes. Your right."

"I know. Now, do you want to sit in the car like ducks, or go work on the two cases we have set up for today?" He said laughing.

Autumn had really wanted to stay in the car listening to Adam's laughter then work on two cases that was sadly about the two people she had known and one that might still be alive.

"Both?" She said smiling.

Adam laughed "You know we actually enough to do those two cases." He said.

"Oh...yes I know. I was...joking of course" She said lying to Adam and herself.

Adam smiled and than started the car.

Autumn had looked at the window the whole entire ride. If she had looked at Adam, she would never be able to look away.

"So where are we going? Because I'm pretty sure this is not the way to the police station." Autumn asked, still looking out the window.

"It's a surprise." He said smiling.

Autumn didn't know two cases would be such a surprise to her.

But soon Adam had stopped the car.

"Ok please tell me where we

are." She begged.

"We're at my house. I know you haven't eaten anything. And I'm not going to let you starve all day." He said.

Now Autumn couldn't help but look at Adam to smile.

"Really? That's very sweet." she said.

"Yep. As you eat we can talk more about you and you special

abilities." He said opening the car door next to him.

We both walked all the way inside his house in silence. Adam cooked something to eat for her. Than he sat right across the table from her.

"So...tell me the real you." He said smiling.

"Well...I'm trying to control emotions. But when I get upset or mad, I don't know, the wind gets really really strong. And I end up getting stuck in my head." She said eating a little bit of her food.

"Oh... so is that how I tell what your feeling?" He asked.

"Umm...I don't know. I really haven't thought about that." She said with a thinking face.

He smiled. "Well it's ok. We can figure it out together." He said putting his hand on hers.

Then she felt like she couldn't breathe. She quickly removed her hand than walking outside. Autumn couldn't, didn't understand what she was feeling.

Adam came outside "what's wrong? You've been acting pretty scared lately."

"It's nothing. I just didn't feel like finishing my food, that's all." She said trying not to look at him again.

"Um...ok. Come inside and sit down as I clean up. I don't want you to sit outside." He said

"No I'll just wait outside, do some thinking. Thank you though." She said with a fake smile.

Adam had went inside.

Autumn sat on the porch thinking about the strange feeling. Than she had saw a boy with a hood on. She couldn't see his or her face clearly. But he or she was right across the street from her. She wanted to get up and go have a closer look.

Autumn got up slowly and moved slowly across the street. The person didn't move. It was like who ever it was wanted her to come.

As the figure took off the hood, Autumn had seen a face that she had wished to see for days now.

It was Jason. As she had finally gotten close to him. She saw dry tears on his face.

"He told me you were dead. He said you were gone forever." He said as tears ran down his face.

"Jason. I'm right here." She said wiping his tears.

Autumn and Jason crossed the street and went in to Adam's house. Autumn, Adam, and Jason all sat down in the kitchen.

"Now Jason. Tell us what happened. Adam you write down everything he says." Autumn said with a serious face.

Adam had gotten paper and pen. "Ok"

"It was all painful. He didn't do anything to me. But that was only because he wanted me to watch him kill my father. He put my father's blood in something that had looked like me. At that time I didn't know what he was planning. But then he showed me the news and a saw that he had hanged the blood bag. He told me everyone, including you, thought it was me. I could bare last another night seeing him kill people, and wondering if I was next on him kill list. It was a big risk but I finally escaped." He said as he was about to cry.

"Please don't cry. Your safe here." Adam said putting the paper and pen.

As the minutes past by. Jason was resting on the couch. But Adam and Autumn were in the kitchen planning the next move.

"So what do you think we should do?" Adam asked looking at the paper he wrote on.

"I don't know. Maybe we can do something with what Jason told us." Autumn said with a thinking face.

"Well, I think your friend Jason isn't telling us the whole truth." He said looking at her.

"That makes sense. My dad doesn't just let someone go without putting something in his victim's head." She said.

Adam smiled.

"Why are you smiling? I mean this isn't something to really be smiling about." Autumn said with a serious. And for the first time she could look at his face.

"Your right. But your so focused. What ever was bothering you a few minutes ago. It's like that fear disappeared and came strength." He said with a bigger smile than before.

"Well I have to be brave when danger comes. I can't be the scared one when someone needs help. I'm sure you understand that more than anyone else." She said looking out the window.

"Of course I understand. That happens to me. Remember, me and you are the same in many ways." He said in a serious tone.

"I know. I just need to focus more on the people that need to be saved than my own personal feelings." She said still looking out the window.

"You know, you can't just pretend you don't have feelings at all. There are some people who may make you feel a certain way. How you feel is how you control your special wind ability. I've been listening and watching the wind blow. You did feel a certain way before you found Jason." He said with a serious face.

Autumn turned her head to look at him. She was trapped in his words. He had figured it out. He knew she was feeling some way about something.

"Ok fine. I was feeling something. I am feeling something. But honestly I can't explain the feeling. It's too hard to explain." She said with a depressing look.

"Well, let's take a walk and figure out your feelings and special ability." He said standing up from his chair.

They both walking outside and walked down the stairs to the sidewalk. They both started to walk to the left in silence.

But Adam broke the silence before she could.

"You have to tell me what you feel about everything and everyone right now thats in your life. It matters a lot. If you don't understand your feelings your abilities will go out of control." He said looking forward.

"Well it hurts knowing that my dad is a cold blooded killer." She said glancing at him.

Autumn didn't know where they were going. But all she knew was that she was crossing many streets and walking around every corner.

"Will that I can understand. But what were you feeling at the house before you found Jason. You said you wanted to go outside and you didn't even finish eating." He said in a worried voice.

"You don't have to worry about me you know." She said

"Even if you are Kingdom Queens powerful daughter I will always worry about you. Worrying about others is my job." He said in a serious voice.

"Well I'm glad I have a bodyguard." She said laughing.

"Autumn I'm serious when I say that. If you die, I die inside. That's just how it is with me." He said with a serious face.

The feeling had came back. She didn't know what the feeling was. But she knew the feeling was about Adam. Adam's words had stuck in her mind that whole entire time. She couldn't think about anything else.

"Autumn are you ok?! The wind creating a tornado! You need to control your feelings!" Adam shouted.

Autumn saw that she had made a tornado around them two.

"I know you want me to! But I can't!" She shouted.

Autumn looked down and was that her and Adam's feet were no longer touching the ground. Adam held on to a pole and grabbed her hand.

"Autumn the tornado is getting stronger! You need to tell me what's wrong!" Adam shouted.

She didn't want to say anything. But she knew she had to if she was going to stop the tornado.

"Ok ok. I don't know how to explain it. But for some reason I can't control my emotions because your words affect it somehow. Like when you said if I die you die. Those words are now stuck in my mind and no matter how many times I try. What you said is stuck in my head." She said trying to speak as loud as she could so Adam could hear her.

The tornado disappeared. They both tried to land on their feet. And once they could see clear enough they saw the roads destroyed. They both ran to an ale so no one could question how they survived the natural disaster.

"That's how you feel? Everything that you were feeling was all about me?" He asked shocked.

"Yes. I didn't want to say anything because my father would probably kill you like he killed the old man. My father kills anyone I care so dearly about. Your not going to be the next person on his kill list." She said in a upset voice.

"I understand. But you say the old man was important to you. Why was he such an important person to you?" he asked trying not to make the question sound to rude.

"Well he gave me the necklace that's around my neck. He was one of the people who actually knew me. He was going to help me get to New Jersey in a special way. I guess that's why father killed him. So I wouldn't make it to New Jersey." She said with a tear running down her face.

Adam slowly wiped the tear off her cheek. "I'll help you. Your father won't hurt me. He can't if I mean that much to you." He said looking deeply into her eye's, smiling.
