Abnormalities

Jane and I continued to hunt for almost four hours before we took a break to have some lunch.

"This is weird, why all these strong monsters are here, they are not supposed to be in this area, those monsters are only found in the deep area of the forest," Jane said while munching some roasted boar meat.

"Don't know and don't care," I replied nonchalantly.

Jane looked at me like I was stupid and said, "How did you even survive in this forest with this kind of attitude."

"Well I avoided the fights and killed what I could kill, and prey on what I could prey," I replied with a carefree smile on my face while cooking some new boar dishes for myself.

Jane sighed and said, "You can see thousands of kilometers away with your magic right?"

"Yes, I can."

"Use that and scout the area," Jane said urging me to do it.

"Ok fine."

I spread my magic sense covering an area of 1,000 kilometers.

"As I thought there was nothing in here," I said while busily steering up the stew in front of me.

"What do you mean, John?" Jane asks with a bad premonition.

"There are almost no monsters inside the 1,000-kilometer radius," I replied calmly like I already knew it in advance.

Jane notices John's tone, but she isn't surprised.

She already knew that John already noticed abnormalities when they were hunting, he only pretended to know nothing, and this was one of his bad habits, which he honestly said when they chatted yesterday.

"There is something bad that will happen, I need to inform the village chief," Jane said in a hurry.

"No need she already knew it, she told me before leaving, all the villages and monsters in the 100-kilometer area mysteriously disappeared except your village."

Jane relaxed a little bit and looked at me, "Why you didn't tell me?"

I shrugged, "You never ask."

Veins pop up on Jane's forehead in anger shouting in her heart, "This lazy scumbag!"

We continued to eat and started to hunt again.

"Why are we continuing?" I asked Jane while I was following her.

We run like a ninja on the brunches searching for our prey.

"Well, you said that almost all the monsters are gone, which means that there are only a small amount of monsters to hunt, leading to limited food supplies we could get, who knows when this abnormality ends" she replied.

"So we are hunting as much as you can and preserve the meat, to secure supplies before it was gone," I said.

Jane nodded her head.

We ran for a while before we stopped.

Jane and I jump to the thick branches and hide there.

Moments later, a huge bear monster with six legs, red fur, and four eyes appears.

This monster is 30 meters in height and it is a level 5 monster.

This monster is called Blue Bear, and despite being red, this bear monster is called Blue Bear, and reason is because of its racial trademark magic, which is a very high-temperature blue flame that almost burns everything in its path. The Blue Bear uses this flame to attack and defend.

"Jackpot we got a huge meat," I gesture a victorious post in a low voice.

Jane smacked my head with her punch and whispered, "Idiot you are weak right don't forget."

I only smirk and whisper, "Yes I am weak right now, but that doesn't mean that I can't take this thing, I saved you from a level 5 monster despite my strength being just level 4 remember"

"Oh yeah, I forgot about that."

The bear passed by from our location and when the bear couldn't be seen anymore, Jane sighed.

I look at her, "Why are you sighing can't you kill the bear?"

"Hell no," Jane replied in a heartbeat, and she added, "Do you expect me to kill that thing, I have some trouble in handling a level 5 monster and you ask me to kill one."

"Yeah, that's a stupid question never mind."

I took out an arrow, put it on the bow pulled the string, and gathered mana in the bow covering the bow with fire magic.

The arrow was coated by a red yellowish flames.

The flame emitted a very high temperature that burned the leaves and wood in a 10-meter radius.

Jane who was right beside me felt danger from the flame and she could tell that she would be burned and injured if she stayed so she distanced herself from me.

I aim at the Blue Bear and release the string.

The arrow shoots into the air, traveling at subsonic speed and carrying a terrifying heat, leaving Scorch trees, plants, and earth in its wake.

The arrow travels into the air and Pierce the Blue Bear's heart in an instant making the bear die without knowing how.

The Blue Bear's massive body falls to the ground with a bloody hole in its chest.

The bear silently took its last breath without feeling pain or knowing what happened to him.

After piercing the Blue Bear's chest, the arrow didn't stop and continued to pierce many trees.

And when the arrow reaches a certain distance, the arrow explodes creating a massive explosion similar to a nuclear bomb exploding, destroying everything in its wake.

At the center of the explosion, there is a ball of flame like a miniature sun, this ball of flame has a diameter of 5 kilometers, and its heat reaches over 15 million Celsius, making everything in 5 kilometers diameter at the center of the explosion vanish and turn to ashes.

In a radius of 20 kilometers from its center, everything was burned creating a sea of flame that had a heat of 3,000 Celsius.

In the radius of 50 kilometers, everything was flattened, everything in this radius was blown away, destroyed, and flattened by the shock wave from the explosion.

In thousands of miles, an earthquake erupted caused by an Earth-shuttering explosion.

Later mushroom clouds rise reaching a height of hundreds of thousands of meters piercing the sky and making all the beings in thousands of miles to see.

300 kilometers away from the explosion.

Jane and I stared wide-eyed at the world-breaking explosion caused by my arrow.

Jane looked at me when she saw my expression, she grabbed my collar and shook me violently. "What's with that expression, I am supposed to be the only one shocked not you!"

I scratched my head and said, "I didn't expect that my attack would cause that much damage, I only intended to pierce the Bear's heart and kill it smoothly."

In my mind, I believed, I only used a small amount of mana in that attack how did I create that explosion, did I lose control? If that is the case the bottleneck that I can't surpass must be loosening up and soon I'll break through.

That will be good for me, however, there is a sign that I lost some of my strengths during that breakthrough, and that sign was losing control and the other one was restrictions of my bloodlust and mana, etc expected for my skills and physical body, that will be a bad thing for me.

The first symptom already appears which means that the process of breaking through started. I don't know If this is good or bad. in all breakthrough processes, why did I land on the worst one? 

Especially now that the outskirts of Nameless Forest were in an abnormal state.

While I was thinking that, Jane didn't stop shaking me.

"Hey Jane calm down and stop shaking me."

Jane didn't listen and continued to shake me violently.

I sigh and wait for her to calm down.

In the distance, the mushroom cloud continues to rise and the fire created by my explosion burns, painting the sky and mushroom cloud red creating an apocalyptic scene in the Nameless forest.
