New Magical School, New Magical Creatures

"Long ago, our world had 7 moons. Each moon possessed great magical powers that all matter of witches, wizards and magical creatures took interest in. The Bakunawa, or the Philippine Moon Eating Dragon, is a giant snake-like dragon that was birthed by a bigger dragon that died giving birth to it. The Bakunawa was fond of the moons and their powers, so he ate six of them," Professor Potter started. The projector showed a huge, like huge, dragon and seven moons surrounding it. Its muzzle was golden, eyes glowing white and its body was long, and it looked like it was floating without wings. Its so huge that I feel like it's the size of an entire country!

"On its way to eat the seventh moon, before dived wizards in the Philippines, protected the seventh moon from the dragon. It says that one moon contained the power of wishes. And every full eclipse, when the seventh and remaining moon losses its power, the Bakunawa would try to eat it. The wizards of the Philippines defeats the dragon, the power of wishes would slip and one's wish may be granted. The, 'Republika ng Mahika ng Pilipinas', or the Republic of Magic in the Philippines, which by the way is the only Ministry that's name is not English, has been trying their best to protect the moon from the dragon."

"You see, the moon has great and pure magic. Many witches or wizards or magical creatures tries to exploit it and the Bakunawa is not an exception. When the moon undergoes an eclipse, the moon will be at its most vulnerable, making it a huge arena for those who wants to harness its powers," Professor Potter finished.

"Professor?" Tim called out.

"Why, yes Mr. Reid?"

"When was the last time the Bakunawa granted a wish?" Tim asked, his face was full of curiosity.

"Why Timmy? Do you want to wish and become a real girl?" Steven mocked.

"Oh, shut up, cousin," Tim warned.

"Wait, they're cousins?" I asked Anna. She replied with a shrug.

"Unfortunately," Tim muttered deadly.

"Well, stop that. Mr. Timothy Reid, the answer to your question, it was 17, almost 18 years ago," Professor Potter replied, flailing his hands to stop the fight.

"Well, anyway, we are guaranteed safe from this since the International Confederation of Wizards have been helping the Philippine Republic in keeping the moon and the dragon safe," Professor Potter said.

"The dragon?" I found myself to ask. "Why does it need protection?"

"Good question, Mr. Cowell-Reynolds. You see, you know Spain invaded the country for more than 300 years, right? Did you think that that was just because of just colonization?" the professor said with a smirk, fixing his glasses as he did. "The Confederation has to make sure such practice don't happen again."

"W-Were they…"

"Yes, they used the power of the Bakunawa. And well, the Confederation knew about it and poof, the Muggles pretended another country went for them. Any more questions?"

Alexander raised his hand, and Professor Potter nodded at him, "But sir, why wasn't this in Magizoology?"

"Another good question! Well, the Minister of Magic find it proper to include this with the Dark Arts since normal dragons just breathe fire and grow for up to a couple of dozens of feet but this one…" he trailed off and looked at the dragon on the projector, "This one grants wishes and grows for up to miles. It starts off with just about a hundred feet, then the next thing, it's the size of its country of origin itself."

I stared at the picture on the projector. The slides showed the Bakunawa that was the size of a baby snake, then grew larger, then its size got very huge, its muzzle pointed at the surface of the moon.
