Let's Go On a Date

Towards the end of eating breakfast, Alfred wiped his lips and turned to his right where Jessica was enjoying the last few sips of her coffee. "Did you bring your car?"

"Yeah, I did. Why?" Jessica continued savoring the sweetness of condensed milk in her mouth before the bitterness of coffee sunk in. She looked at him with a curious expression.

"Oh, I was wondering if you could give me a ride. That is, if it is along the way. I need to stop by the Skylight mall." He secretly crossed his fingers under the table as he hoped for a positive response.

Listening to his request, Bryan's lips parted to say a few words. Suddenly, a piece of sausage was stuffed into his mouth. He chewed on the piece of meat as his gaze landed on his girlfriend who was enjoying her scrambled eggs. She gave him a warning glare from the side.

Her curved lips from the side of her face became obvious as she gave him another hint. "Bryan, don't forget our appointment later." Celinda purposely knocked her leg against his.

"I didn't forget." He replied as he fed her a piece of tomato. It couldn't get any more obvious that Celinda was trying to help Alfred get rid of his single status. From Selina's meaningful hint yesterday, how could they not fasten up their moves?

"Sure. Skylight mall is pretty close to my company. I can drop you off on our way there." Jessica didn't see through Alfred's thoughts. She purely believed he needed a lift and decided it wouldn't hurt to give him a ride.

Yi Wei, on the other hand, already caught the hint. She wanted to protest and drive her own car, but it was impossible considering her car was parked by her workplace. Plus, even if she asked to borrow a car, Jessica wouldn't let her drive on her own. 'Damn! When will my license activate again? Tch, I'll be dead from dog food by the time I could drive again.' She thought silently to herself.

After the trio had left the villa, Bryan looked at Jason with a smirk. "Brother-in-law, can I borrow one of your cars? I have to drive Celinda back. I'll return the car to you another time."

Hearing the soothing words from Bryan's mouth, Jason agreed to his request. "Sure. I'll bring you over to the garage, and you can choose which car you want to use. Choose any car model you want."

"Thanks." Bryan said as he followed Jason outside. While Jason led Bryan to the garage, Selina stayed behind with Celinda. The girls had a small talk about Alfred's next move to wooing Jessica. Considering this is the first time someone besides those from her blind dates was pursuing her, it might take her a bit longer to realize he liked her.

Finally, everyone has left, leaving only Jason and Selina behind. Selina stretched her arms upwards. "Ahh, now it is just us. Are you going to work? It's already past the regular time that you head out for work."

Seeing her raised arms and closed eyes, he wrapped his hands around her waist. Naturally, she leaned onto his body, circling her arms around his neck. She groaned as she stretched her back for ten-seconds before taking a few peeks at her husband.

He answered, "I'm not going to work today. Yesterday, I already assumed that I would be late to work. So, all the important documents were dealt with already. Since we already ate breakfast, let's go out on a date. It's been a while since we've walked around. What do you think?"

"Hmm? My hubby purposely took off from work to accompany me. How could I reject?" Lifting the heels of her feet off the ground, she put her body weight on her toes. She stole a few kisses from her husband, and the couple took their time exchanging sweet words to each other.

After dawdling around with each other, the couple got dressed and left the villa. In half an hour, the couple arrived at one of the well-known malls in the city. Selina tilted her head and held Jason's hand, wondering what they were doing here. Instead of asking him, she decided to follow his lead and see what he was up to.

Standing in front of a luxurious, rose gold themed store, Selina questioned Jason's motive. "Why did you bring me here?"

His thumb caressed the back of her hand as he explained the reason why they were here. "Remember the project you were working on? The clients loved your work, and the project is successfully completed. Soon, a grand party will be held for this occasion, and I want to properly introduce you to the world that you are my wife. Other than that, I also have a small gift to give you."

"Uh huh..." She looked into her eyes with the urge to steal another kiss from him. Unfortunately, there were too many people around, so she could only hide her desires and fulfill them later.

"I personally asked the designer to design a dress exclusively for you. Your dress is ready, so... you just have to walk in and try it on." The astonished look on her face made his heart soften. He loved how she always looked at him in the eyes with such warmth and happiness.

His hands gently pulled her forward as he took small steps towards the store. As the couple walked past the security guards by the door, the guards bowed to welcome them.

From a distance, a middle-aged woman with a deep frown observed the couple from afar. To be exact, her eyes were pinned on Selina ever since she saw her and Jason stopping outside the international brand store. It was a store even she couldn't enter, yet Selina had walked in without getting stopped.

At first, she thought it was a mere joke and even laughed to wait for Selina's embarrassing moment. Now, the smile had faded, and a frown had replaced it. She snapped a picture of them and sent it to Jessica. The caption of the photo was: "Do you see this? Your best friend went off with a rich dude. She's been using you all along! When will you wake up and get yourself a man as powerful that?"

Within seconds, she received a response that triggered her anger. Jessica replied, "Mom. That's her husband and she never used me. If you don't know anything, then don't speak with your lazy assumptions. I'm uninterested in all men you've introduced and will introduce to me. If you force me, I'll get married with a woman and show you my marriage certificate."

Letting out an irritated tsk sound, she turned around and left the mall. As soon as she reached her vehicle, she opened and slammed the door multiple times to vent out her anger. Not long after, she dialed her husband's number and decided she must make Jessica's next blind date a successful one.
