Journey of A Reincarnator

Matthew, an orphan, and a bastard child ever since he was born, died during a war protecting his fellow orphans and caretakers. Now, being brought into a more dangerous world than he used to live in, how will he use his second chance? --- Warning! I haven't written anything for the past few months, so don't expect anything good. Don't read it if you don't like it... I have no writing schedule since I'm in the 'busy' year in high school now... so don't expect an upload every day.

The boy groggily woke up, he was sweating all over, panting.

Looking back at his past, he cursed himself at stupid he was. Feeling 'betrayed' that one of his best friends told a trusted adult about his... condition... wait...?

At the time period, he lived in, although many people didn't have technology like phones, the trusted orphanage still worked for the government, how was his condition never checked before he entered?

He noticed that other than him, every other child had been examined, meaning they were definitely checked for diseases and the sort.

Indeed, he was too stupid and too emotional that he never even noticed this fact. Maybe it was because his father stopped them from doing so? Maybe... even if he was a bastard, his father couldn't stand having a disabled child being known to the world.

Maybe... he wanted to wait for me to just die silently?

Though he never knew what kind of work his father did, he must've been decently powerful with that arrogant tone of his while talking to his mother... or maybe it was his family's power?

All he knew was that his entire life was being controlled by someone... And for Matthew, no, for anyone, they'd be uncomfortable with that.

... No, now is not the time for this.

Snapping out of his stupor, he looked at the blue screen in front of him. "Wait, how did I get transferred from there to whatever place I was floating at and then here?" Matthew asked while wiping off his sweat.

[After the master had died, the system took action and sent your consciousness to another body. It would be suspicious if you had inhabited a body that had parents. It would be extremely difficult to completely act as if nothing happened, especially since the memories of the other person might have been blocked, or rejected completely. Because of this, the system transferred you into a body that was just born, with most of its original memories already gone with him being no more than two years old mentally.]

"That... is a fair reason, but how was this body alive before I got to it?" Matthew looked at his tiny naked body.

He had four limbs, two arms, and legs, he had skin, he could breathe, he could do everything a human could do. Honestly, he looked just like any other human child, so how could he survive in whatever place he was in?

[Due to the master's late arrival in the body the system has prepared for you, the child already died, not by the environment, but due to the lack of energy and nourishment. Meaning, he starved to death.]

"Oh... shit... even if it didn't have a soul, it must've suffered regardless." He took a moment of silence for the vessel.

...

Taking another peek at his body, Matthew noticed he did seem a little too skinny. He couldn't see any outline of his ribs or anything like that, which was good.

He was completely human, at least he looked like one. How did this child survive the vacuums of space, but die to starvation? There were an array of questions on his mind...

...

He wanted to ask the system another question, but to no avail, it didn't answer. No, more like it couldn't answer like something was restraining it from speaking as all he heard were static noises.

Growl~

Matthew patted his stomach, "There we go..."

'Now then. Since it seems like I won't get any answers from you anytime soon, I'll go on another topic. How am I going to survive? If you have anything like some sort of starter pack for this like I read in some novels which would give me the ability to hunt, that'd be great too.'

[Since master has finally awoken, I can assign you the basic essential items and skills.]

The rewards were much more than the ones he saw in the novels and manhwa he read, which was a pleasant surprise. However, out of all the things they didn't give him... a weapon...

He also felt like the system had trolled him with the {Weak One} skill, but a skills a skill. He'll need it later, no matter how bad it sounded.

Well, at least his food and water problems were solved... for now...

Observing his body, Matthew saw that his body was slightly glowing, "Well, I might be screwed."

Shing~

Matthew's body shone in bright light, completely engulfing him in a cold tingling sensation as he felt his body growing stronger.

His body mass increased slightly, making his abs slightly more apparent. While he was in this trance of improvement, the system had also explained to him how to use the three functions he had been given.

Matthew could feel himself growing stronger, no longer would powerlessness hold him back now that he could properly become stronger without his old, and frail body.

At this point, he had already placed all of his attention into this world. This, being his new reality, and if he wanted to survive, he needed to get stronger.

After the light dimmed slightly, we could see that Matthew had grown slightly, but most of his skin was completely covered in dense black substances sticking to his body. Although it did not give off an odor, feeling something abnormal on his body, Matthew snapped himself out of his trance.

Matthew immediately scrubbed himself, "Argh!? How do I get this off of me?"

As Matthew got increasingly annoyed, he used more and more of his strength to scrap it off, until off of it was finally gone from his skin.

Since it was odorless, Matthew didn't gloss over it much and directly went into his inventory, clicking one of the blue boxes in front of him.

Poof~

In his arms was a plain grey robe. There wasn't any decoration to make it unique like any somewhat important character in any cultivation manhwa. Wearing it, he seemed like any other commoner child that was lost if anyone found him here.

For Matthew, this was actually a plus. From the clothes alone, he can definitely assume that he might've been reborn in some sort of cultivation world.

It was bad news and good news at the same time. Because the path of cultivation was infinite and with his system, he could definitely rise up, however, before that, he could be killed by literally anyone he meet.

Even if he had all the things an average transmigrated main character would have, like transmigrating to another world with a system to help them out, it doesn't mean they're invincible either.

He needed a plan to get stronger... however, how was he going to do that with limited resources in an area where he doesn't how to get out of?

While he was in a daze, Matthew had finally felt something enter his body.

He's intrigued now, the surrounding bamboo forest now looked like a mythical training ground for him as the mist clouds of energy flowed into him.

The mysterious energy entering him was overwhelming at first, but he quickly adapted to it, feeling a steady flow of energy constantly rushing through his body.

"So this is {Nature's Body}... I can cultivate while training other skills!"

With this sub-skill with him, his journey would be much easier, knowing that he had much to catch up on.
