The Chaos Cycle

The trio felt huge amounts of energy leave their bodies, causing them to age by a few decades; "-with the demon calling flag, the map of all mountains and rivers, and the hydrangea forms the six paths of all existence."

Yama evoked as several beams of different colored energies shot out of the three treasures.

The moment these beams of energy left the treasures; they instantly lost a considerable amount of their lusters.

Then Yama continued;

"Hear our cries, oh void; attend to the voice of our plea, oh chaos: accept our humble sacrifices and bless us all with one good fortune befitting of your riches and majesty!"

Boom!

The moment Yama's invocation ended, the six streams of energy merged together and shot toward the gateway above it.

The gateway then began to absorb the pillar of energy, causing the several runes that were etched onto it to activate and light up one after another.

The altar continued to draw more and more energy from Daniel and the others, causing the treasures to gradually begin to look ordinary whilst Sun and Valpak began to sweat buckets whilst wheezing heavily for any shred of oxygen that came their way.

"We're almost there; just a little bit more." Yama encouraged the group as he wore an uncomfortable expression.

"I seem to have gravely underestimated the amount of energy required to open the Chaos Connecting Gateway." He added as he gazed at Daniel who was faring far worse than the other demigods and three treasures.

Daniel was currently feeling his consciousness gradually slip away from him; it felt like the altar was forcefully taking whatever amount of soul power is required to open the gateway without giving any regard to his safety.

He had long exceeded his limits and was only hanging on because he didn't want to be the reason why the ritual which they had suffered and sacrificed so much to actuate, failed.

Furthermore, he was the reason why they were here in the first place, thus he believed he had to show the strongest desire and endurance.

But just as his senses were about to descend into utter darkness, the last rune on the gateway pillar lit up and the portal activated, cutting off the energy it was absorbing through the altar.

Grrr!

The altar began to vibrate intensely as the energy it was supplying to the gateway was abruptly cut off without any prior warning; and with the absence of any storage function within it, the altar began to experience some sort of energy overload.

But just as it was about to disperse the energy into its environment, an extremely intense energy thirst surged over from a specific direction and latched onto the rampaging energy.

Then just like an inflated balloon that was poked by a needle; the altar channeled the energy towards the source of the thirst in violent bursts, dumping all the excess rampaging energy within itself towards the source of the energy thirst.

Daniel who had been drained of the last ounce of soul energy he had didn't realize that he was about to find himself on the receiving end of a mixture of several overbearing energies.

The tyrannic celestial energy from Sun and the map of all mountains and rivers, the overbearing demonic energy from Valpak and the demon calling flag, and finally, the immortal energy within the remnants of the liquid from the yellow springs of the netherworld were all surging towards the oblivious Daniel.

Normally, absorbing all these energies with contrasting origins would have been fatal to anyone; but before they could pour into Daniel, the energy from the hydrangea which was said to be able to merge all beings regardless of their origins latched onto these energies and merged them into a new type of multicolored energy.

This new type of energy was not only much stronger than all the energies combined; it was also docile enough for Daniel to subconsciously absorb without experiencing any side effects.

Daniel didn't even realize what was happening to him, as he and the three demigods were currently captivated by the unique reaction of the gateway which was starting to create a portal within itself that linked to a place none of them knew.

When the portal formed completely, it was just like any other portal; spinning and cloudy, with no way to see what was on the other side; but after a few seconds, the portal abruptly solidified itself like a piece of a glass pane.

Then several spider webs of cracks began to spread across the glass pane in every direction, and once they reached the pillars of the gateway, the glass pane then shattered, revealing a sight that made Daniel and the three demigods concurrently shiver in fright.

Right there, just about ten meters off the gateway pillars was a mass of the most unbridled, tyrannic, and primordial type of energy in all of creation.

Right there, within the void, in its endless mass, was a cloud of violently churning pitch-black energy which melded and masked its presence with the void, rendering it nigh invisible to all forms of physical, mental, and spiritual perception.

But if someone much stronger than the three demigods on the altar scrutinized this endless mass of chaos energy, they would realize that the chaos connecting gateway had brought them to the core of the endless chaos energy.

Moreover, they would also be able to vaguely sense that, right within this core was a sphere, the size of a basketball which seemed to phase in and out of existence.

Furthermore, this phasing sphere of 'god knows what' was gradually devouring everything within its realm, whether tangible or energetic.

Then once it reaches its limits, it would pulsate violently, spewing out innumerable amounts of chaos energy, and other creations back into the endless void, and after that, it would repeat the process once again.

Daniel and the demigods watched this phenomenon unfold before their very eyes with awe and fear blooming on their faces.

"According to the ancient records; the chaos-connecting gateway will connect us to any realm currently experiencing the end of its chaos cycle," Yama revealed as the trio subconsciously nodded their heads.

They were barely responsive to what Yama just said and were all engrossed with the several overpowered artifacts that the chaos core spewed out in innumerable quantities.

"It was also recorded that of every creation in the six paths of existence, living beings have the least probability of being born during any chaos cycle; followed by treasures planets and finally different forms of natural energies like lightning, gravity, and the rest." Yama explained further, and this time, Daniel was listening with a frown on his face.

"Why would living beings be the least created amongst them all?" He asked in pure curiosity.

"The logic of destruction and creation become slightly unique whenever it comes to the topic of chaos cycles." Yama began.

"You can say Chaos is the purest and most powerful form of energy in existence, and whatever is born from it would only be weaker than the chaos energy itself."

"Thus, if a living being was born directly out of chaos, such being would possess the power to annihilate an entire realm with a snap of its fingers."

Yama paused for a bit and allowed the first batch of information to sink into Daniel's mind, then he continued.

"No creation can ever be stronger than its creator except it it finds a way to bypass the natural restrictions its creator has placed upon it."

"Thus if we follow such logic, a being that is born from a mortal, who is residing within one of the many continents on a planet, shouldn't possess the power to annihilate an entire continent."

"Do you know why?" Yama asked in between;

"-Because no ordinary mortal can possess the energy to wipe out a small village, not to talk of a city, nation, or continent." Daniel answered as Yama nodded.

"But if that ordinary mortal is introduced to a source of energy that was on the same level as that of the planet or even higher, then he would eventually possess enough energy to destroy the said planet once the prowess of his energy matches or surpasses that of the planet's." Yama concluded his explanation.

"But this theory of yours; isn't that what cultivation is all about? -"

Yama heard Daniel and waited in anticipation.

"-shedding off all the many fetters and restrictions that our creator placed on us when we were created?"

"That's correct!" Yama replied with a proud smile.
