The Letter

First Swan went to Jayden's house, she sneaked through Jayden's window and went to his mom's room, she wanted to get something of her so she could track her.

But when she reached her room it was locked "Why is it locked? This means she was here after that night?" She mumbled by herself, pulled out a pin from her hair, stretched it, and took out another pin.

It took her some time but she unlocked it, She went inside and opened the cupboard, even though she couldn't take any of her stuff that was lying on her bed but she had a feeling as if something was telling her to check her cupboard.

She turned everything upside down, but couldn't find anything useful, but when she removed clothes from the lowest column, she saw a secret compartment, she had to unlock it the same way, with a pin!

When she opened it there was a picture of Jayden's mother, standing with a man with long curly hair and a baby in her arms, they both were smiling.

With that picture was a letter.

"Dear Delilah, it's time for you to know the reason why I did what I did, My enemies want me dead, I've been hiding for a very long time now, and finding a way to kill my enemies, I didn't come up with anything until I found you, an old friend told me that one day your son will kill my ancient enemies, so I needed to pretend that I love you.

Now that I have our son, I am leaving and I won't be returning now, and if you tried to find me I will give him the most painful death, and if you let me be, I will treat him like a prince that he is.

Besides I've given you immortality, and sacrificing a son I think is a fine price to pay."

She read the letter "Who is this man?" She thought.

Then she found another letter in an envelope "To my son, Jayden!" It said.

And she knew that now was the time when she should catch up with Jayden.

She didn't want to open the letter before Jayden because it was for him after all, She could betray anyone for Jayden but would never betray Jayden for anyone, so without any wait or delay she left the house right away.

Emric chased the scent of a dead body, he reached the abandoned park near Jayden's house, and he kept sniffing until he found the dead body, it was just like the one they saw before, with no teeth, blackened eyes, but Emric felt as if he knew this man, his dressing somehow looked familiar.

Within a few minutes, Swan also arrived at that park, she tracked the smell too.

"We need to take him to the sanatorium" He pulled it off the ground and hung it on his shoulder.

"What if someone sees you?" Swan held his arm.

He looked at her, then sneaked from wall to wall and when someone got in the way Swan distracted them before they could even see Emric.

As soon as they reached the woods, Emric ran straight to a tree and hopped from one foot to another until he was closer to a branch, he jumped to hang himself on a branch, pulled himself up, he swung from one branch to another until he reached the outskirts.

There were two routes to the lake one that could be reached by the public, but this was the route they used because this way they could quickly reach the outskirts, also because they could stay away from Human beings without letting them know about their secrets.

And that's where Jayden was waiting for Ryanne, who came out from the woods shaking his hands.

"I thought you forgot to come back!" Jayden passed a death glare to him when his eyes fell on Ryanne's hand, it had blisters under his smallest finger.

"What happened to you?" He asked.

"I ran into a bike and dropped the umbrella" He explained "But his reaction was weird." He sat beside Jayden.

"Good thing the sun had almost disappeared, and what do you expect? Normal people don't burn like that in the sunlight, tell me you compelled him!" Jayden stared at the sky.

"This is the point Jayden, he didn't act as if I am a freak or something, he smirked at me as if he struck me on purpose, and I tried to compel him but he acted as if he didn't even see me" Ryanne shrugged, like other vampires, he didn't lose all of his abilities.

So he had already healed the woman they found earlier, he took her to her home and compelled her to forget, and it took him time to do that, and now they were just passing their time till midnight, it was already night now, and the sun disappeared hours ago, and the stars could be seen in the sky.

After taking the body to the sanatorium Emric had an idea, he checked the dead man's pockets and found a wallet in one of them, Emric opened them and in one of its pockets he found the ID of that person.

"Oh shit!" Emric rubbed his forehead wiping off his sweat.

"What is it?" Swan asked Emric.

"We need to find Jayden, now!" Emric flipped the id toward Swan, it was Benjamin, The dead body they found was Benjamin's, this is the reason why Emric felt something familiar about that body.

"How are we going to tell him?" Swan panicked, she knew they had been close friends since they were little, and even though he punched him, he'd never want him to die.

Jayden had no idea what happened behind his back, his phone vibrated, and when he looked at the screen it was Swan calling him, but before he could receive the call it powered off, there was no battery left.

Before it powered off, Ryanne peeked in Jayden's phone it was the time, he covered his ears with his hands.

Jayden had only opened his mouth to ask him the reason when the screeching started, he covered his ears too.

"It's louder than before!" Jayden pushed his palms against his ears.

When the screeching stopped they both breathed heavily "Oh my God!" Ryanne realized it had been three days since she had been going through this, and he felt sorry for her.

"The voice came from across the lake" Jayden stood up and got close to the dock, There were more of those woods across that lake, Without giving it a second thought Jayden dived in the water and swam all the way to the edge of the small island from where he heard that screech, he now started smelling blood.

Ryanne also followed him and after going through multiple vines and after changing their path multiple times, they finally found her.

There were veins visible all over her head, as they usually appear when you have a headache her face was flushed red.

Tears were flowing out of her eyes and blood from her mouth, she looked up at Jayden when her eyes were black too. Just like all those victims.

"Jayden" She whispered, she was weak and tired.
