Making New Friends

"How did you find him?" He glanced at Hawkbone.

"He. He found me actually! When I was lost, he found me!" She answered nervously.

"And what did he tell you about that bracelet of yours?" He asked.

She noticed most of the people around were wearing similar metal in different things, Ray was wearing a ring, and Esteban was wearing a thick chain around his neck hanging out of his suit.

"He told me this is to protect me from the sun!" She stared at her bracelet while turning it around.

"Yes and do you know what happens when we don't get ourselves protected from the sun?" He looked at Rose knowing she had no clue, as she innocently nodded in denial.

"Because we could get burned in sunlight?" She squinted knowing she was wrong.

"Say that in front of a vampire movie lover, this is fine but never say that in front of a vampire!" He cackled.

"Yes, the sun hurts us, But doesn't burn us!" He picked up his glass of wine and walked with her, away from the crows.

"Tell me what it does then!" She asked.

Ryanne liked how curious she was about this new world of her "You will feel pain in your head and eyes like we usually feel in fever and flu!

And yes! We can easily get discovered under the sunlight, our bodies get a boost! So you will see your iris turning red, and fangs armed without your wish! We lose our control over our bodies under the sunlight! The worst part is... you won't be able to hide it." He answered.

"What happens then?" She asked.

"Umm... You end up like Walter Awbrey! Hanging in public with a steak piercing through your throat!" He circled around her until he was behind her, and whispering to increase the suspense, he was enjoying how involved she was in the story he was telling.

Now Rose knew most of the things about being a vampire. But mostly disadvantages now was the time for her to know the advantages.

They walked as they talked and had no idea when they reached the rooftop.

"These were all the 'Disadvantages' What about the 'Advantages'? What's the benefit of being a Vampire?" She took a sip from her wine.

"Do you trust me?" He asked, she didn't know what to say, he extended his hand toward her, she placed her glass on the edge of the wall and held his hand.

"Jump!" He said.

"Are you crazy?" She freaked out.

"Yes, I am! But trust me!" He yelled so she took a deep breath and jumped, within a moment she landed on the ground so perfectly that she didn't even feel the slightest pain.

She looked back at the top "Did I just jump from the top?" She was shocked and she was finally enjoying something after a long time.

She pulled back her hand when she realized she was still holding his hand.

"And?" She wanted to know more.

He took her to a bar, but not inside, it was dark and the road was empty, they waited for someone to get out, and as soon as a man came out he dragged him and took him far away with Rose.

He compelled him and Rose started sucking blood out of his neck.

"Gently! Gently… We have to keep him alive!" He tucked her hair behind her ear.

And slid his hand on her head, she slowed down as he told her to, and after a few minutes he asked her to stop, she was so lost in the pleasing sweetness of his blood that she couldn't even hear Rayanne calling her name.

In the end, he whispered in her ear "That thirst you have… Keep it contained for our enemies!" As soon as he said that, the face of Jayden lit up in her eyes and she pulled herself back.

She reached him again when Ray held her by her shoulders "Sshh… It's alright" He gently rubbed her shoulder with his fingers.

Her iris turned back to normal her fangs sunk in she closed her eyes and sighed. He fed that man his own blood and because of that, the bite marks on his neck disappeared, he compelled the man and made him go back home.

Afterward, he again extended his hand toward Rose, and as soon as she held it they both traveled back to the vampsion in a flash.

"It is more beautiful than how much it is ugly, it's all on how you handle it." He stepped back and kissed her on her hand.

Even though she almost forgot her bitter past with him, she wasn't ready to be close to him, when he kissed her hand she faked a smile, as they parted ways, Ray needed to rest and Rose needed to go back to her family.

She thought a lot about what happened that night, she kept smiling until she realized the way he was looking at her, she hid her face under her pillow and sobbed "What have you done to me Jayden… Why did you leave me hanging by a thread" She whispered while crying.

And then she knew she have to move on, and she will do it, even if she had to force herself.

Jayden was also restless that night, he logged on to social media just to check Rose's account, she swapped her pictures, and he smiled when he saw her smiling in one of those pictures.

But in the latest one, she had this smokey makeup, that seemed a lot more darker, even though her true self was much lighter and prettier, it didn't look bad, but it reminded him about what she has become.

"What have you done Rose? I wish I'd never met you… I ruined your life, I am sorry" He turned off his phone and lay straight on his back.

He closed his eyes while imagining her smiling face in front of him, the way she laughed when he asked her to be her dance partner at the prom.

And how pretty she looked when they danced under the moonlight.

Holding on to her memories helped him sleep, like every other night, he fell in a deep slumber that only broke in the morning with the sound of alarm.

"And there comes another day, to struggle hard and fight negative vibes and work hard to get better and better each day" Jayden spoke to himself while he looked in the mirror as he rubbed his head with the towel to dry his wet hair.

In the morning when Jayden and Henry reached school Ivy told them she broke up with Benjamin and thanks to Jayden, she showed courage to confront him in front of the entire school, there he couldn't hurt her.

Jayden made a new enemy, not only Jayden but the new trio made a new enemy and that made Monty an enemy too, because he was Benjamin's childhood friend so he had to support him even though he didn't want to.
