Light After Dark

That day went quite well, he apologized to Benjamin and things got a little less intense between them, it wasn't the first time they fought but things couldn't stay the same forever, especially not for Jayden.

He turned into a compassionate person, he started looking out for people around him, he was convinced he earned what he deserved, he was convinced he was cursed because he killed an innocent student, who did nothing to him, so he tried to earn his redemption, which he was sure it was too late.

One night he felt someone following him, he wasn't sure what or who it was but he felt as if he knew the person who was following him, but when he looked around there was no one.

Well, the days went by, and when that matter cooled down, after a few days there came a new student who entered the school and captured everyone's attention.

It was a girl, a pretty girl with long hair and a decent appearance, Every eye was stuck on her including Jayden's, he was looking at her going to her locker when a basketball struck her back.

She was confused she looked around and saw a group of three girls standing by the stairs, this was a new group after The Crows broke, not all of them became sober but at least they stopped torturing people after Felix's death.

So while the crows slept these new girls took control, but they only bullied students, just like that day, after throwing their ball at that girl the girls kept laughing and Jayden could clearly see how this girl was being uncomfortable because of them, no one dared to step forward so he took the first step.

"Leave her alone" He yelled, They were warned and left the scene right then.

"Hi I am Jayden" he greeted the girl.

"Rose" She introduced herself, "Thank you for your help" she smiled.

She had pretty eyes and they looked prettier when she smiled.

Now this new girl 'Rose' was a threat to the other girls, because most of them were betting on who would get to go with Jayden on the prom.

And before Rose came, the leader of this new bully group 'Rita' was so confident about getting a chance to go to prom with Jayden, watching him smile with Rose started boiling her blood.

While they were getting angry at Jayden and Rose, both Rose and Jayden were laughing and becoming friends.

Rita decided to make a plan to keep her away from Jayden, after walking and ranting about it for hours she finally had an idea, an idea that could keep Rose away from Jayden at least until the prom, and she was confident after attending a prom with him she will have him wrapped around her fingers.

Jayden spent the entire day with Rose, they mostly studied and then gathered in the canteen for lunch along with Benjamin, Ivy, and Monty.

"I am thinking about getting a new hair dye" Ivy pinched her hair from the end.

"Go for the red!" Monty snapped his fingers.

They were still talking when Rose's phone rang, She picked up the phone and went in the corner.

"It was nice to meet all of you but I have to go now" Rose apologized and left.

That day when Jayden got back home his mom told him something that shook him and pulled the ground from under his feet.

When he walked in she was sitting with a cup in her hand, Whenever she had a news that was hard for her to tell she used to sit like this with a cup in her hand filled with coffee.

After Jayden asked her many times, she finally broke her silence "When you were at school there was a man here"

"What man?" Jayden was ready to hear any bad news.

"He said he's a supernatural hunter" She took a sip from her cup "In different circumstances I would have laughed at him but… he said if I ever find anything suspicious I must let him know" She wasn't looking at Jayden.

"Mom! I think…." he stammered at first but he continued, "I think there's another wolf in town! I mean a werewolf" He was lost in thoughts while talking to her "I can feel it, I don't know how I just feel it!"

His mother stepped up from her couch and sat beside him holding his hands "If there is another wolf you must find it before anyone else does, I am sure it must be as helpless as you, maybe it didn't know what is happening when it turns?"

He was amazed by her thought but he got her point, maybe she was right, and if there was another wolf he'd do anything to find it before it got into the wrong hands, either they could use it as a weapon, or they might experiment on him until it dies.

Maybe it didn't even know if it had killed someone, Jayden had a plan, so he decided to arrange a bonfire after long research on the internet.

He knew who was coming, and he knew how many students were gonna be there, Rose also came, and he was glad to have her there, While everyone was busy dancing Rose asked him about his family "My father is out of the country for work! So it's just me and my mom!" He smiled "What about you?"

"Ahh!! My family…" She stared at the sky for a couple of minutes, she was blinking her eyes repeatedly.

That was enough to make him understand she has some serious family issues and she doesn't want to talk about it, so he decided to change the subject.

After a while he excused himself and jumped in front of everyone just to make a stupid announcement "I have a new drink, it has a blue rocket, they say it gets you higher than any other drink, so drink at your own risk".

He lied, While researching he found out that the wolf's bane is a poison for a wolf so he picked the funkiest name for wolf's bane and if a wolf is there he or she wouldn't drink it.

The only thing he wasn't expecting was that the only person with whom he wanted to spend this night was the only one who left.

Without being seen, Rose left the party, he understood why she wasn't telling him anything about her family, maybe they abandoned her after knowing what she was since that day he decided to look after her, without her knowing.
