"See! Whatever I did, you can punish me, but she needs help." He requested.

Emric agreed and helped him push the boulder off her, she was already drifting off but somehow Jayden carried her in his arms and rushed to the nearest hospital, the hospital itself turned into dust and ashes.

But a nurse managed to help his mom, "Once she recovers we will deal with you!" Emric had so much hatred in his eyes that even Jayden felt ashamed of himself, he had no idea what made his heart filled with so much hatred for Jayden but he was sure he must have done something.

Emric was not the kind of a person who'd hate anyone without any reason.

However, the nurse came out and gave him good news "Jade your mom is fine now" She smiled.

Jayden faced the sky and took a deep sigh of relief. He was about to get to his mom when he realized something which froze his feet where he was, "Why did you call me Jade? I don't know who you are and you don't even know my real name!" He waited for an answer but there was no response.

Jayden turned around to ask her again but there was no one there, suddenly he realized, he was not where he was before, he was under the open sky now.

"Leave him alone!" He heard Swan yelling, when he turned back he saw Swan aiming at him with a bow.

Jayden felt his hands are wet, when he looked down and focused, he realized his half-body was inside the sea, and he was holding someone by their hair.

As he pulled his hand out, he saw it was Emric and Jayden's nails stuck deep inside Emric's skin. He hardly pulled his nails out.

"You killed him!" Swan screamed so painfully that made Jayden terrified, he stepped back as she rushed toward him with a sword in her hand.

She swung it over and over again until it gave him multiple cuts on various parts of his body.

And the pain he felt made him realize everything was real.

"I deserve that!" Jayden cried. Taking as many punches as he could, as many hits as he could handle, not once he defended himself until he got an idea.

"He just died which means we can resurrect him, I heard Jinx talk to Brigid once!" Jayden stepped back defending himself with both of his hands.

"What?" Swan stopped attacking him. "You better be telling the truth or you'd never be able to even speak ever again!" Swan pressed his chin slightly with her sword.

They both carried Emric to the sanatorium.

"I can resurrect him but there's one thing you must do, you have to sacrifice someone's life, a life for a life to maintain the balance of nature" Jinx sat back on one of her stretchers.

"We can't just kill someone!" Jayden felt hopeless he didn't even bother to think about what made him kill Emric.

After thinking for a few minutes, and after too many quarrels Swan insisted to sacrifice herself.

"Are you out of your mind? No! Do you know how Emric will feel about this?" Jayden scolded her badly.

"Don't tell me about how my brother will feel about me sacrificing my life for him because you killed him!" She had her eyes filled with tears and hatred.

Guilt and anger were already preventing him from making eye contact with her, but somehow he looked at her with a broken heart and stepped forward "I want to sacrifice myself"

Swan held his arm "No!" Even though she was ready to strangle him an hour ago but she still couldn't watch him die.

He shook off her hand, "I did this, let me pay the price"

He laid down and closed his eyes, Swan held his hand.

"I am sorry, tell him I am sorry" He whispered.

He felt Swan's tears falling on his hand,

He waited for the process to begin for a few minutes, he kept feeling the drops dripping on his hand, suddenly they were dripping over his face and hands over and over again until he became restless and opened his eyes and found himself lying under a tree, and a drop slipped through a leaf in his eye.

He sat up rubbing his eye, before he could understand what happened he heard Swan screaming "Help!" and the way she was screaming, there was a lot of pain in her voice.

He looked around, he was in the middle of a jungle.

He sniffed deeper to track Swan, and he finally caught her scent, he ran as fast as he could after covering a few miles he heard people laughing and cackling.

When he discovered a light in the distance, he sneaked closer and peeked from behind a tree and saw a crowd around a bonfire, but in the distance was Swan crucified but was still alive.

A man reached her and struck his hammer on a nail stuck in Swan's palm.

As she screamed with pain Jayden clenched his fists with anger, he jumped in the middle of all those people, most of them had their faces covered with masks like thieves.

"How dare you?" He growled so loud that the blood started pouring out of everyone's ears, all of them who were standing and sitting around covering their ears and watching their hands covered in blood later.

Swan was fainting because of the pain, she cried "Jayden.." She called out to him in her losing breath.

People around them were already dead.

He reached out to her and pulled nails out of her hands "You are gonna be fine" He carried her in his arms and took her to a tree where he could protect her from the rain, he sat down and rested her head on his lap.

"I will get help!" He was about to go but she held his hand tighter.

"Jade…" She touched his face and smiled as she saw tears rolling down his cheeks.

"Never thought I'd see tears for myself in those pretty eyes" She wiped his tear and her hand lost its strength and slipped down toward the ground.

Jayden called out to her, once, twice, then many times, but it was too late, she was already gone.

He carried her in his arms, with heavy feet he dug a grave and placed her inside.

He fell numb on the ground beside her grave and he slowly drifted off.

When he opened his eyes again he found himself standing in front of Swan and the tree behind his back.

As soon as his vision cleared he rushed to her and embraced her as tight as he could.

A wave of shiver traveled through her entire body from head to toe, goosebumps raised on her skin and that wave left her bones and soul shaking for a while.

"Was it really happening or it is just another dream?" She thought to herself as she wrapped her arms around Jayden and gave him a gentle back rub to comfort him.
