Alia was doing her work while the prince having an audience with the king.
"So, you're the new maid?" A woman's voice heard by Alia.
She turned around and found a young woman, younger than her was talking to her.
"I've observed you since the first day you were here." She added. "Do you think you're special just because the prince took you as his private maid?"
"That's... That's not true at all!" Alia denied her statement.
"Hmm... Is that so?" She questioned her.
"I'm sorry, but who may I'm talking to right now?" She furious of the woman for saying what she wanted out of nowhere.
"I'm Margaret. I'm the head maid here. I've been with the prince since he was a kid. We always play together back then. Oh my... how nostalgic." Said Margaret.
On the other hand, Alia doesn't really paid any attention to her word. She's just ticked off because of her attitude that she doesn't want to hear the girl's word anymore.
"Hey! Did you hear what I'm saying?!"
"Yeah... Sort of."
"You!..."
She's obviously mad just by looking at her red face. She clenched her fist, but quickly released it after she saw the prince was approaching them.
"Prince Lewis!" Margaret waved to him, calling him to join their conversation.
"What... You're here too, Alia? What are both of you even talking about?" He asked.
"No... Nothing really..." Alia averted her gaze somewhere else.
Seeing her reaction, Lewis suddenly reminded of last night scene. He quickly turned his head away from her to hide his red face. But Margaret saw it clearly.
So the prince and the maid... They love each other. She thought to herself.
She felt frustrated when she knows the truth. After all their memories together, Lewis chose that maid over her. That fact alone made her really sad.
"What's wrong Margaret? You look sad. Are you okay?" The prince asked her when he saw her eyes were dwelling with tears.
Don't talk like that. Don't be so nice to me. If you talk to me like that... I'll...
"Margaret?" The prince became more worried because she didn't answer the question.
"No... It's nothing... I've only never saw you smile so happily before." She smiled.
"Oh... Is that so?"
Alia just watched Margaret and Lewis silently. She knew that Margaret really love Lewis. Only Lewis couldn't get a clue about what's going on.
"I should get to my room now. I'm tired today." Said Lewis. "You both should continue your work as usual."
Then he walked away and went straight to his room.
Margaret turned her head to Alia.
"Do you love him?" She asked Alia.
"What?!" She's surprised to hear that question. She wanted to deny her, but after looking how serious Margaret was, she slowly nodded.
"Good." Said Margaret. "I hope you're happy with him in the future."
"Why's the sudden change? Just now you really hate me being around him. But now you're saying the opposite." Alia confused.
"It's just... If you truly love something, you have to let it go. If it doesn't come back to you, that means it was never yours to begin with."
