Bea's POV

The clock struck midnight, and I could hardly contain my excitement as MY house transformed into a buzzing hive of partygoers.

Music blared from the speakers and laughter echoed through the halls. With Grace, Steph, and Jess by my side, we were ready to unleash a night of epic proportions.

As the door swung open, Steph ushered in Jess's mystery man, who had us all buzzing with anticipation. The allure of the unknown left us on the edge of our seats, eagerly awaiting the reveal. But as Jess's face fell upon seeing him, she quickly sought solace on the dance floor, pairing up with another boy who caught her eye.

Meanwhile, I found myself stealing glances at the crowd, unable to resist the vibrant energy of the house party. And then, our gazes locked – a tall, handsome stranger looked at me like I was the only girl in the world. His eyes sparkled with mischief, and a mischievous smile curved his lips.

Guys BY THE WAY THIS WAS JESS'S MAN THAT SHE TURNED DOWN.

Approaching with confidence, he leaned in, his voice carrying over the music. "Hey, want to dance?" he asked, his voice smooth like silk.

I couldn't help but blush (even though I can't) as I nodded, feeling a thrill course through my veins. "Sure, let's dance," I replied, barely suppressing a delighted giggle.

He introduced himself as Hugo, his name rolling off his tongue like a seductive melody. With every beat of the music, we moved closer, our bodies swaying in perfect synchronicity. The world faded away as we danced, lost in a moment that felt magical.

And let me tell you, ladies and gentlemen, he was simply stunning. With a face chiseled by angels and eyes that seemed to hold a universe of secrets, Hugo was a sight to behold. The room seemed to pause as we danced, the pounding music providing the backdrop for an enchanting connection.

"Bea is that you?"

Josh.

Josh's POV

As the night air filled with laughter and the echo of clinking glasses, my friends and I strolled down the street towards Bea's house. We had just left the club, feeling invincible and ready to continue the night.

Theo stumbled next to me, a dazzling smile spread across his face, his arm draped around a stunning girl. "Hey, guys! Life is good, isn't it? I mean, look at her! She's a work of art!"

I chuckled, knowing that Theo's optimism was bound to come crashing down sooner or later. "Enjoy it while it lasts, mate. We all know how these things go."

With each step, the alcohol coursing through my veins seemed to blur my perception. But there was one thing that remained crystal clear in my mind – Bea. I had left the club alone, despite the enticing company of a beautiful girl. She had sparked my interest, but deep down, I knew she wasn't the type for a fling.

As we approached Bea's house, the sound of music grew louder, catching me off guard. I furrowed my brow, trying to recall if Bea had mentioned any plans for the night. Perhaps she had decided to throw an impromptu party, knowing her weird spontaneous nature.

Stepping through the front door, my senses were immediately assaulted by the sight of Bea, dancing with the one man I despised most in the world – aside from my dad, of course. It seemed that fate had a twisted sense of humor, intertwining our lives in the most unexpected of ways.

I exchanged glances with the boys, their bewildered expressions mirroring my own. It was as if time stood still, the room swirling in a haze of confusion and awkwardness.

"Josh, mate, looks like you've got yourself a situation there," Ryan whispered, a hint of mischief in his voice.

I rolled my eyes, trying to play it cool despite the turmoil brewing within me. "Yeah, tell me about it. Just my luck, huh?"

Oh, the tangled web we weave. There, on the dance floor, was Hugo—the infamous "friend" who had a talent for getting a little too close for comfort with my girlfriends. Ah, the memories.

You see, Hugo and I go way back. Not in a friendly way, mind you. No, we go back to that fateful time when he decided to test the boundaries of friendship and betray me by sleeping with my then-girlfriend, Steph. The fucking audacity! The nerve! And here he was, making a move on Bea now. Some people never learn, do they?

As J. Cole once said, "Fool me once, shame on you."

Indeed, J. Cole, indeed.

And here I was, faced with the potential to be fooled twice. But oh, the irony—it's practically dripping from the punch bowl.

I took a deep breath, feeling a mix of annoyance, anger, and a tinge of amusement bubbling inside me. If life were a sitcom, this would be one of those moments where the laugh track kicks in, reminding us to find humor even in the most absurd of situations. It's like karma had ordered a special delivery just for me.

With the beats of the music guiding my steps, I approached Bea and Hugo, wearing my best poker face. Deep down, I knew I couldn't let history repeat itself, not if I wanted to keep my sanity and my pride intact.

"Hey, you two lovebirds," I said, mustering up my most sarcastic tone. "Mind if I cut in?"

Bea and Hugo turned to face me, their expressions a mix of surprise and confusion. I could practically see the wheels turning in Hugo's head, trying to figure out my game.

Oh, the delight in giving him a taste of his own medicine.

Bea, always the perceptive one, caught on quickly. She winked at me, playing along with the charade. "Of course, Josh. We were just about to take a breather anyway."

As Hugo reluctantly stepped aside, beaten at his own game, I took hold of Bea's hand and pulled her close. I whispered, loud enough for Hugo to hear, "You know, they say history repeats itself. But not tonight, my friend. Not tonight."

Ok I was drunk. So maybe I sound weird. But I got my point across.

Ok fine. This didn't happen this is how it actually went...

Bea's POV

Oh, the randomness of life! There I was, on the dance floor, twirling around with the dashing Hugo, when out of nowhere, Josh appeared like a fucking pesky mosquito.

"Is that you, Bea?" Josh asked, his eyebrows raised in surprise.

In that moment, all I wanted was for the ground to swallow me whole. I buried my head into Hugo's gorgeous chest. It was my attempt at escaping the embarrassment. Little did I know that Hugo's chest was as solid as a rock, and it didn't provide the invisibility shield I had hoped for.

"You're so fucking selfish Josh."

Just when I thought the drama was over, Josh proved that he had a degree in being a dickhead. He decided to interrogate me, bellowing, "What do you mean?" His voice cut through the music, causing nearby dancers to halt mid-step and stare at us.

Summoning all the courage I had left (which wasn't much), I shouted back at him. "It's not fair!" I proclaimed, my voice laced with frustration. "You get to kiss a girl, and I can't even dance with a boy!"

I took a bold step and yanked Hugo away from the spectacle, dragging him towards the exit. I needed a breath of fresh air, both literally and figuratively. How did I end up in this mess? Who knew dancing with a boy could cause such chaos?

As we stepped out into the cool night, I turned to Hugo. "Do you want to go outside with me?" I blurted out, hoping he would understand the need for a momentary escape.

A mischievous grin spread across Hugo's face as he nodded enthusiastically.

As I sat outside on this beautiful night with Hugo, a warm breeze brushing against my skin, the familiar sight of him lighting a cigarette brought back memories of my boyfriend, Josh. I couldn't help but mention it to Hugo, hoping to steer the conversation towards something casual and light-hearted.

"You know, my boyfriend... well, ex-boyfriend," I quickly corrected myself, aware of the outdated tense, "used to smoke too."

Hugo's curiosity piqued, he asked, "Who was your boyfriend?"

With a playful grin, I replied, "It was Josh."

To my surprise, Hugo leaned his head back and erupted into laughter. His laughter was so contagious that I couldn't help but chuckle too, not quite sure what he found so amusing.

"How is it possible for someone that pathetic to have had you?" Hugo finally managed to wheeze between laughs.

Startled by his comment, I retorted, "Hey, he wasn't that pathetic!"

Hugo's laughter slowly subsided, and he met my gaze, still grinning. "Okay, fair enough. But you must understand how incredible I find it that someone as amazing as you could end up with someone like him."

I couldn't help but smile. Here I was, sharing a light-hearted moment with Hugo, and his unexpected compliment made me feel a surge of flattery. It wasn't every day someone expressed such admiration for me.

With a teasing smile, I replied, "Well, Hugo, it's not about being amazing. Love is a funny thing, you know? It doesn't always make logical sense."

As a mischievous sparkle lit up in his eyes, Hugo shifted in his seat and asked, "You know, it feels like we've known each other forever. Why don't you come sit on my lap? I want to appreciate your facial features up close."

Caught off-guard by his suggestion, I couldn't help but burst into laughter. Hugo had certainly mastered the art of flirting.

"Well, Hugo," I said, fighting back a grin, "I appreciate the offer, but how about we enjoy the view from our separate seats? I wouldn't want to obstruct your view of my face."

We both laughed at the exchange, the easy friendship between us growing stronger with each passing moment.

Just as I was engrossed in a lively conversation with Hugo, enjoying the playful banter and laughter that seemed to flow effortlessly between us, Luca appeared seemingly out of nowhere. With his concerned expression, he approached me and asked, "Bea, are you okay?"

Smiling to reassure him, I nodded and replied, "Yes, Luca, I'm perfectly fine. Just enjoying the company and a good laugh."

Luca seemed satisfied with my response and decided to join the conversation. He plopped down beside me, and in one swift, unexpected motion, I found myself settling onto his lap. It was an awkward but oddly comfortable position, as if the universe had decided to play a hilarious trick on us.

Curiosity getting the better of him, Luca leaned in and asked, "So, what were you two talking about?"

Before I could respond, Hugo dramatically dropped his head into his hand and groaned. "Bea, why is it that you're with everyone but me?"

Luca rolled his eyes, clearly unfazed by Hugo's remark. He locked eyes with me and said, "Because she's gorgeous."

Caught off guard by Luca's comment, I couldn't help but burst into laughter.

As our laughter subsided, Luca gently nudged me and whispered, "You know, Bea, you have this magnetic effect on people. It's not just about physical beauty. It's your spirit, your laughter, and your ability to make everyone feel at ease."

It felt like an ordinary day turned into a surreal adventure as I found myself drawn to both Luca and Hugo. They each possessed qualities that captivated me in their own unique ways.

Luca, with his genuine sweetness and a heart as warm as the summer sun, had quickly become someone I enjoyed spending time with. There was an undeniable chemistry between us, one that made my heart skip a beat with every glance and playful interaction.

Meanwhile, Hugo brought an infectious sense of humor and undeniable attractiveness to the mix. His charm and quick wit had me in stitches more times than I could count, making every conversation feel like a comedy show.

Just as we were engrossed in our laughter-filled banter, the universe decided to add another twist to the already eventful day. Josh, made an unexpected appearance, sauntering out with a cigarette pack in hand and a casual nonchalance.

Without missing a beat, he tossed the cigarette pack onto the table and directed his attention toward Hugo. "Hey, Hugo, mind if we grab a quick chat?"

Hugo shot a sideways glance at me, his eyes reflecting a playful mischief. "Wish me luck," he quipped, causing both Luca and me to burst into laughter at the absurdity of the situation.

Amidst the laughter, Luca reached into his pocket and pulled out a cigarette. Without another word, he effortlessly placed it between my lips and flicked his lighter to ignite it. The smoke curled around me as the nicotine hit my senses.

Just as I was about to take another puff, Luca's voice interrupted my thoughts. "Hey, Bea, let's share this one, shall we?" he suggested, a playful smile tugging at his lips.

My heart danced with excitement as I passed the cigarette back to him, our fingers briefly grazing against each other. It felt electric, as if a magnetic force pulled us closer together.

Taking a deep breath, I leaned in and placed a lingering kiss on Luca's lips before pulling away. It was a bold move, filled with both surprise and desire. And just as the smoke swirled between us, Luca exhaled, his gaze locked onto mine.

"See?" he whispered in a husky voice, his words laced with a magnetic energy that left me wanting more.

. As I sat outside, enjoying the company of Luca Steph, burst through the door.

"Guys, everyone's leaving!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with urgency. "There was a fight between Hugo and Josh. It got physical!"

My heart raced as I quickly jumped to my feet, the fear of the situation overpowering any sense of amusement. Rushing into the living room, I shouted at them to stop, only to find myself being held back by Luca, his grip surprisingly strong.

"No, Bea, don't get involved! It's not worth it!" Lucas pleaded, trying to ensure my safety.

But my determination overwhelmed his grasp, and with a swift move, I freed myself from his hold. As I approached the chaotic scene, a sudden turn of events sent me stumbling backward. An accidental punch struck my face, and to my disbelief, it came from none other than Josh himself.

Gathering my composure, I looked Josh in the eye and firmly told him to leave. In that moment, I saw him glance towards Theo and Ryan, hoping for support or intervention, only to receive apathetic shrugs in return.

Turning my attention to my friends, I declared, "Everyone else can stay for the night. I don't care." It was a way to reclaim control over the situation.

I dashed upstairs to find solace in my room. Seeking a temporary escape, I mindlessly scrolled through Instagram, hoping to find something to distract me from the chaos below.

As I scrolled, I stumbled upon Hugo's account.

Just as I sighed, contemplating the events of the evening, he strolled into my room, his effortless charm oozing from every pore. His eyes twinkled.

"Can't get enough of me, huh?" Hugo quipped, a teasing smile playing on his lips.

Caught off-guard, I couldn't help but laugh at his audacity. "Oh, you think you're that irresistible, huh? Don't let it get to your head!"

Luca, strolled in with a grin on his face. With a playful glimmer in his eyes, he turned to Hugo and declared, "Hey, Hugo, you better leave. This is my sleeping spot now!"

Hugo chuckled, shaking his head. "Well, if Luca says so, I better get going. Don't want to intrude on his beauty sleep!"

I love Josh.

But is worth it?
