It's Either You Or No One

When jasmine checked back at the wall clock, it's already past eight. She's been trying to reach her granddaughters since an hour plus, but yet none of them picked up the calls. Infact, they turned off their phones, which made jasmine became more worried. Her hair by now is now a total mess like she was struck by an electric. Hmm, yeah. Maybe electrocuted. Frustration has a lot to do with that. I guess. She grabbed the second iPhone 14 which her son, Justin, had bought for her few weeks ago before leaving for L.A, from the glass center table. At once within a blink of an eye, she began dialing her son's number.

Cheerful woman

Damn they will be totally telling a flat lie if they said that they didn't enjoyed the soup. What special ingredients was it made up of? They've had several soups in the past, even the ones their grandma do make for them was not a match for Mabelle's. Hers was fantastic! And to hide their shame and protect their little egos, they decide to pin their lips and not requested for more.

Hallelujah! Ava and Aria praised in their hearts as they took the bowls from her.

Mabelle silent chuckled at the two cute darlings while they enjoyed their second bowls of the soups.

.....

At the time they had finished and was full to satisfaction, it was automatically five bowls each they finally had. And now, they're off to sleep.

The slanty posture in which they were relaxing was too harmful to the body's bone and might cause severe pains by daybreak.

Mabelle stood up and positioned them properly on the couch. The couch was wide and big enough to contain the both of them because they're petite but she felt uncomfortable seeing the both of them pairing in one couch.

After thinking of a very good idea, she went into her room and brought out a big yet light mattress.

Placing it down, she took a deep breath before tapping them to wake up.

Ava rubbed her eyes. Aria yawned.

"Is the weather down yet?" Ava asked. Still half asleep.

Mabelle chuckled. "No, it's just 7 and the weather is still very bad."

Instantly, Ava and Aria widened their eyes in shock, "7pm?" They shouted.

"Yes," Mabelle nodded with a smile.

"Oh no," They began to put on their shoes, prepare their bags for leaving and their phones.

"Thanks for the meal, Aunt Mabelle." Aria said while rushing towards the door. Ava dashed behind her too.

"Wait!" Mabelle stopped them and they turned around. "Can't you see? It seems like the bad cyclone just started. You two can't go out, it's very risky."

"Aunt Mabelle, we really have to go. Our grandma will get worried if we don't return home and she might phone our dad about our absence." Ava explained.

"Everyone is aware how bad this cyclone is. I'm sure your grandma and father will understand too." Mabelle remarked. No she can't risk them out in a bad weather like this.

"But Aunt-"

Cutting Aria off, Mabelle said, "I don't think this weather will settle down for today. Maybe by morning everything will be calm and I don't mind you two staying at my place for the night. Please, it's dangerous outside. You can send a text to your parents and family, tell them something you know they'll understand."

Okay now she's asking them to pass the night at her place? This can't be way too nicer than a goodie person.

Ava and Aria thought for a while. They stare at the big mattress and walked back into the sitting room.

She is right. The weather outside is very bad. It'll do something horrible to them if they step a foot outdoor.

They smiled at Mabelle and thanked her once more for being so nice to them. How can one be this nice? What if they were bad people pretending to be good? Well, any bad person who meets a cheerful woman like her, deserve repentance.

Mabelle handed them a very big and thick duvet cover to help them stay warmer. Thereafter, she laid on the couch and used a very light blanket to cover herself.

Ava wanted to make a phone call but no signal in hers and her twin, so she borrowed Mabelle's phone since it is a very strong CDMA phone.

Instantly there was signal despite the bad weather. She sent a text to her grandma. Telling her that they're hooked up at their boyfriends place for the night because of the cyclone. And the text went through.
