The Duchess of Darkness

Ren closes the door upon leaving Yoake's room; she looks around and notices that the halls are empty; she doesn't hesitate to remove the pin on her chest and hides it in one of her coat's breast pockets. After hiding the pin, she began to walk and head to the VIP room; she's an important guest since she's the only Pokemon trainer, alongside Yoake, to partake in the league. Even though she lost their battle a month ago - she supported him with no sweat. Training on a daily basis as they wait for the day of the league try-out arrives.

Ren still kept the commander persona, hidden to the public and political view. Her second persona is a part of the elites but she was only using it as a form of disguise to spy on the powerful men of Kanto. She hated and despise them for ruining Pokemon battles for profit, ruining the magic and tradition of Kanto just because of modernization but since the specialists and even the Pokemon champion have little to no political power or saying in the parliament, and the elites having power over it - they couldn't do anything about it.

She entered the VIP lounge and noticed that people are already on their seats as they patiently wait for the battle to begin. She looked around and noticed the absence of the Prime Minister and his cabinet or even some of the MPs. It was odd since last night, they were here - enjoying drinks - hitting on some girls with their harem - and an overhaul party.

"Psst." While glancing at the lounge, she heard a hiss. She looked around to find where the hiss came from and it turns out, it was from Leaf. The legendary trainer is sitting on the center-part and beside her was an empty seat, assuming that it was for Ren.

The white trainer walked towards her and leaned her body as she didn't want to be rude by blocking the view. She sat on the seat and took a deep breath - upon intaking the air, she smelled a strong male perfume radiating nearby, it was from Leaf.

Like Yoake, she was curious as to why Leaf smells like men's perfume.

"Leaf, why do you smell like men's cologne?" The white trainer pondered.

"Well… I have…" Leaf tries to make an excuse once more but realizing how pointless it was, she sighed and revealed the truth to her.

"I had an accident last night…" She muttered.

"You hooked up with a guy? With whom?" Ren concludes and begins to bombard the trainer with questions. Realizing that this could cause a commotion, Leaf hushed the white trainer as she explained it.

"Hush - It's Steven Stone." Leaf whispered to the trainer's ear.

Ren flinched as she was shocked to hear Leaf's answer. She was in disbelief but it would make sense since the perfume smells like an expensive one.

"You're joking, right?" Ren said in incredulity. "Right?"

Seeing Leaf's face is serious, Ren accepted that Leaf actually did it with Steven. She was shocked but there was nothing she could do about it since it happened last night.

"How? How did it happen?" Ren interrogated her.

"I guess we had a couple of drinks, got drunk, got a taxi, booked a hotel room, and did it there…" Leaf faintly remembered the events last night but she can dictate the timeline.

"I see," Ren muttered. "How big is his-?

"Ren, you shouldn't be asking those types of questions. You're still 12." Leaf interrupted her. She was destained by the question as she wants to forget the events prior. Ren looked down after hearing the sudden burst of anger from Leaf's whisper.

"Sorry." Ren apologized. "By the way, where is the Prime Minister?"

"I was told earlier that he left for a parliament session. To be honest, I don't know why would they have a session during an important event." Leaf explained to the trainer.

"It's because they were planning to create a bill about banning Mega Evolution as a whole, not only in the Pokemon league but also throughout Kanto." An old man interrupted the two as they explained the reason why the prime minister left. They turned around and it was none other than Professor Oakido.

"Professor, long time no see." Leaf greeted.

"Professor…" Ren greeted as well.

"But why would they ban Mega Evolution? Wouldn't that cause a massive domino effect? Not just in Kanto but possibly all of our neighboring countries and states that use Mega Evolution." Leaf bickered.

"There's an argument about Mega Evolution actually torturing the Pokemon and many considered it as Pokemon Abuse. With recent studies actually supporting the claim, many are now drafting a bill to outright ban it." Professor Oakido explained to the two.

"We've been using Mega Evolution for nearly hundreds of years now, it's a part of Kantonese culture, and removing it is just a disdaining." Leaf argued. "There must be a way to stop it."

The Professor sighed as he knows that he can't do anything about the parliament's decision but there is one thing he heard from the Prime Minister before leaving.

"There is one thing, if Karen wins then they would cancel the bill since she would be using Mega Evolution and still create a massive hype then there's no point of passing it since it would create tons of profit for the country and their wealthy business partners but if she losses, then the bill would be passed." He explained. This statement made the two speechless.

"What? There must be another way." Leaf argued once more. She knows the number of hours that Yoake poured just to master his and his Pokemon's skills. She doesn't want to sabotage him again as she knows how dangerous Yoake can be if he was furious.

"There is no other way," Oakido remarked.

Leaf begins to panic in her thoughts as she doesn't know what to do. She loves using Mega evolution and it's been a part of Kanto's culture and erasing it just because the elites want to push for Dynamaxing in Kanto. But she loves the boy more than her battle culture, she may have been battling and training for years but no matter how many victories she achieved; none can match the sweet little smile on the boy's face. Losing him is a death sentence since many know that Giovanni is out there, waiting for the perfect time to strike and seduce the boy into joining his cause and become more powerful than anyone could.

She only hoped that the result of the two's battles wouldn't cause massive turmoil down the line.

Meanwhile, in the champion's room, there was a quiet, soft and anxious ambience that was floating through the scenery. Karen was looking at the mirror, staring at the person who she became. She was no longer the girl who catches dreams but the person who protects it; she was protecting the sacredness of the Kanto dream but all of it would be judged at the end of their battle.

She knows how far Yoake has become. He was no longer the naive boy who uses Battle Bond all the time but the boy who maximized and mastered his Pokemon. She wasn't worried about their battle but she was anxious about the results. Leaf told many things about Yoake and one of those managed to cling on to her.

He is willing to do everything for victory. There's no line or threshold that could stop him; he wants it to be done. Just like Yoake and Ellix's battle earlier, she learned how absolute Yoake is.

"Miss Karen, the battle is about to begin." A staff member entered her room and alerted her.

"Okay. Come on." The champion stood up from her sitting and followed the staff member leaving the room then heading to the field where she and Yoake would finally fight.

The crowd cheered upon seeing both Yoake and Karen entering the battlefield. The two headed to the center, both being nervous as they know how important this battle is. As they approached one another, they decided to make a small chat.

"Well, the day has finally arrived. This is the moment you've been waiting for huh?" Karen raised her arms as if she was presenting something.

"I've watched many of your battles in the virtual league; I'm very impressed to say the least. Using unthinkable Pokemon and breaking the meta by using it. You are a gifted trainer." She complimented him.

"Well, I've always lived by your philosophy." Yoake stated.

"Ah, the Strong Pokemon. Weak Pokemon. That is only the selfish perception of people…" Karen begins to utter her old catchphrase.

"Truly skilled trainers should try to win with the pokemon they love best." He continued her quote. She chuckled after hearing Yoake continuing her famous statement. She realized that her opponent had dedicated his life to Pokemon and learned from the veterans before. Yoake smirked as he gained the confidence to battle her.

"Let's see how skilled you are then." She remarked as the two turned around and headed to their place on the field as the battle began.

Unlike the battles before, the two can freely use 6 of their Pokemon albeit in a double battle format. The use of healing or replenishing materials are banned unless they are held items. With the rules already being stated, let the battle begin.

"Battle SET! Pokemon, GO!"

The battle begins as the black trainer throws in Claudine and Urshifu while the duchess of darkness throws in Hydreigon and an unfamiliar Pokemon; this pokemon looks like a goblin - with its sharp green nose, ears and feet while having a fully black fur throughout its body. Just like the other specialists, Karen used a Pokemon from Galar. It was a Grimmsnarl.

"Grimmsnarl, use Trick on Gardevoir. Hydreigon, Flash Cannon onto Gardevoir as well."

"Claudine, get ready. Urshifu, use Close Combat on Hydreigon."

Upon hearing the words of its trainer; Grimmsnarl smirked as its eyes feast upon Claudne the Gardevoir. The Pokemon jumped and tumbled like it was a malicious jester. As soon as it reached a perfect diameter, Claudine retaliated by creating pink orbs on her palm and begins to hurl it towards the Bulk-up Pokemon; instead of jumping to dodge the attack, Grimmsnarl did a side-ways cartwheel as it surrounds Claudine while she repeatedly throws him purple orbs (MoonBlast). The black-elvine like Pokemon found an opening and immediately engaged as it jumped and latched onto Claudine's shoulders.

Yoake realized that this Pokemon has the ability 'Trickster' the same ability that Sabrina's Mewostic has; he immediately saw it as a major threat and must have fainted immediately. Grimmsnarl removed the Sitrus berry on Claudine's pocket and replaced it with a collar-like material with a long chain of rocks, it was a lagging tail.

Grimmsnarl immediately escaped Claudine's retaliation by jumping off from her shoulder and landed safely near Hydreigon. With Grimmsnarl's cue, Hydreigon's triple heads begin to open its mouth, creating silver-like orbs on each mouth and firing it at the vulnerable Embrace Pokemon.

Claudine tried to teleport from the ongoing attack but the rocks were stopping here. As she saw the 3 orbs falling from the sky, she covered herself with her arms, thinking she could use her telekinetic powers to stop it. Urshifu ran towards Claudine, jumped from the ground and used its fist to destroy the three orbs. He was untouched by it and immediately charged towards Hydreigon as it avenged Claudine, punching the Brutal Pokemon with close combat. With one last fully concentrated punch, he knocked out Hydreigon and looked at Grimmsnarl with a growl. A wordless metaphor that the Bulk-up Pokemon is next.

"Hm, not bad." Karen said as she returns Hydreigon back to its Pokeball and throws in the next one. "Crawdant, continue the battle."

'Claudine is too vulnerable at the moment, I have to tap her out.' Yoake thought as he realized that Karen's next Pokemon would be more difficult to deal with compared to Hydreigon.

"Claudine, return." He said as he returned his ace back to her Pokeball. "Zapdos, help Urshifu out. Urshifu, use Surging Strike on Grimmsnarl."

"Grimmsnarl, use Moonblast on Urshifu. Crawdant, grab his paws."

Grimmsnarl begins to tumble once more as it menacingly approaches Urshifu. The wushu Pokemon prepares itself as it readies its paws to parry the upcoming attack but he was tackled by Crawdant and was pinned to the ground with his arms raised and being crushed by the mighty pincers of the Rouge Pokemon.

"Zapdos, use thunder on Crawdaunt and Tackle Grimmsnarl."

After hearing its trainer's command, Grimmsnarl jumped and tumbled once more as it did a cartwheel one more time. Approaching The Wushu Pokemon at a terrifying rate; all the while it was creating a Pink orb on its palm. Urshifu prepared himself from the upcoming attack but he was pinned down to the ground by Crawdaunt with his arms being raised above. He struggled to free himself as he saw the bulk-up Pokemon was heading towards him.

Grimmsnarl lunges itself to Urshifu with the Moonblast on its hand, ready to throw it at Urshifu. Zapdos drags in and attacks both Crawdaunt and Grimmsnarl with a powerful thunder from its wings, nearly knocking both out but Crawdaunt retaliates by using Aqua jet and attacking Urshifu once more. Punching the Wushu Pokemon on the face with its powerful claws, Urshifu tried to block it with its arm but it was no use. However, he found an opening on Crawdaunt's feet and immediately did a sweep kick; the rogue Pokemon fell down. As Urshifu was making keen observations to the fainted Crawdaunt but he saw a shadow casting behind him, it was the Grimmsnarl and it had a Moonblast on its hand. He immediately turned around as the bulk-up Pokemon threw the Moonblast at him; Urshifu tried to kick it but as soon as his feet touched the orb, it exploded, knocking out both Grimmsnarl and Urshifu.

"Interesting. So you trained your Pokemon to be independent by learning and having their own fighting style." Karen asks him as she returns both of her fainted Pokemon while Yoake returns his. They both throw in their next Pokemon, Karen with her Mandibuzz and Tyranitary while Yoake with his Victreebel.

"Ever since the first gym, seeing Victreebel independently attack Brock's Onix made me think about teaching my Pokemon to be less dependent on my commands and for them to use their skills on their own. I only provide them guidance though." Yoake explained to the champion.

"I see. Shall we continue then?" Karen stated as they continued their battle.

"Zapdos, use Thunder on Mandibuzz. Victreebel, use Vine whip on Tyranitar."

"Hmp. Mandibuzz, use Brave Bird on Victreebel. Tyranitar, call up the sandstorm and show your true strength with Rock Slide."

Karen shouted as she raised her left hand and the sandstorm was immediately activated. Covering the battlefield with brown dust being blown by the wind, nearly blinding both Zapdos and Victreebel. Yoake realized that Karen has no interest in using Dynamaxing; as much as he wants to use Dynamax - he prefers a fair fight.

Zapdos flew above the sky once more as it tried to find Mandibuzz while Victreebel used its vine to cling onto the Electric Pokemon. The sandstorm was too thick and visibility was too scarce on the ground, adding the fact that Mandibuzz's feather is on the brown spectrum, it was difficult to find where it was. As they continued to look around, they heard a crack from the ground beneath them and a giant pillar emerged from the sandstorm and struck both Pokemon, knocking the two down to the ground.

The two fell to the ground and rolled. They heard a squeak, it was Mandibuzz - emerging from the sandstorm and nearly struck Victreebel but he managed to roll-over and dodged a deadly attack but Mandibuzz wouldn't allow this to slip through. It U-turned and headed back to Victreebel once more. The Flycatcher Pokemon heard a roar behind him, a roar that shivered his hair-like figments on his body. He turned around and saw Karen's tyranitar towering him with such menace. The rotom cams managed to pass through the sandstorm and began to live stream it as the audience had no idea what was going on within the invisible storm.

Tyranitar roared once more as it caused a tremor that shook Victreebel. The columns begin to crumble as Tyranitar continues to release a hellish roar. The flycatcher Pokemon was flung by it and as soon as he turned around, he saw the approaching Mandibuzz. Tyranitar growled once more and clumps of rocks emerged from the ground, engaging Victreebel and letting Mandibuzz take down the Pokemon. Realizing that this was Karen's strategy to take down a Pokemon, Zapdos didn't hesitate to release a thunder and struck Mandibuzz down.

"Tyranitar, be the King among Kings. Use Earthquake and attack both Zapdos and Victreebel." Karen said as she returned the fainted Mandibuzz.

The armor Pokemon rumbled as it stomped the ground and caused an earthquake. Victreebel holds on to the ground as it tries to balance itself while Zapdos flies around Tyranitar - thinking that it would escape from the powerful Pokemon's clutches.

"Zapdos, distract Tyranitar. Victreebel, take the opening. Synergize!" Yoake told his Pokemon.

Zapdos continued to soar above the sky as it diverted Tyranitar's attention but he knew what was up; the armor Pokemon jumped and created another earthquake but this time, pillars began to emerge from the ground and these columns have been following Zapdos. Spikes also materialize from the cracks that Tyranitar caused. Victreebel used the pillars to lift itself from the ground and attack Tyranitar but as soon as he was about to get close, the armored Pokemon turned around and made a powerful uproar. Not only it knocked back the flycatcher Pokemon but also Zapdos, both falling to the ground and falling to the spikes, they were lucky that the spikes are blunt; if it wasn't for Karen's training, this Tyranitar would be far deadlier than it should be.

The two fainted upon hitting the rocky pricks and Yoake was getting imperturbable. Karen knows that Yoake still has 3 Pokemon left and she knows how generous this kid is. Since Leaf is a close friend of hers, she asked her about the boy, his manners, his mindset and his reactions. She knows that if he continues to get defeated by her Tyranitar, he'll be frustrated. She couldn't tell if it'll be a good thing or not as she has also heard about Yoake nearly killing Ren because of the scary combination of Battle Bond and Anger. He is trying to avoid using Battle Bond for the entire event as he knows how dangerous it can be.

"Victreebel, Zapdos, You two did a great job today. Take some rest." He said upon returning his two fainted Pokemon to their respective Pokeballs. He took a deep sigh and looked at his next Pokeball, King's Pokeball. He knows King has a type advantage but he fears that Tyranitar could just obliterate him. Karen returns Mandibuzz to its Pokeball and throws in her last Pokemon, Greninja, her ace.

"King. Claudine." With no more worse to say, he throws in the two Pokemon. Knowing that Claudine still has the lagging tail, he has no choice but use her as a tank since she has an advantage on both Karen's Pokemon.

"Well, since you're in a struggle. Greninja, hold your position and Tyranitar would take care of this." said Karen. The Ninja Pokemon was confused by his trainer's decision but he decided to obey and kneels down as he patiently waits for his time.

Yoake was suspicious by Karen's decision but he assumed that she wanted to have a fair fight since Claudine is no way near to be on-par with the two. Claudine on the other hand was getting mildly infuriated because of the lagging tail, as much as she wants to move and teleport, this tail is stopping her to do anything. Her mild inconvenience passes through Yoake as battle bond's link was still there, mixing the two anger into one - creating a disaster that would forever change the battle.

"King, use Earthpower on Tyranitar."

"Tyranitar, Outrage."

King charged and headed to Tyranitar; earthpower would be a laughing stock if he was at a distance, being closer is his only way to attack the armor Pokemon. As he drew closer to Tyranitar, he noticed that it was patiently waiting for him as if he was about to do something far worse than what many anticipated. King was about to stomp the ground as soon as he was arm's-reach from Tyranitar but the armor Pokemon made a powerful uproar that knocked back the Drill Pokemon and made him fall to the ground.

Tyranitar slowly walked towards the fallen King and for every step, rocks emerged from the ground - surrounding the King on all fronts. Claudine tried to help her friend but she couldn't as the lagging tail was holding her back. She wanted to break the chain but she wasn't powerful enough to destroy it; this made her furious as she could see her friend suffering in the battlefield yet she couldn't do anything to help him. Tyranitar walks up to the Drill Pokemon and begins to punch him in the face with a powerful outrage. Karen realized that Tyranitar is getting out of hand.

Three - no - Four heavy deadly blows were delivered to King's face up until the drill Pokemon finally fainted. Claudine growled upon seeing her friend being destroyed right in front; with anger and frustration slowly flowing throughout her body, she gained the strength to destroy the lagging tail and looked at Tyranitar with a malicious look as if she wanted to kill the Pokemon.

"Tyranitar. That was too much!" Karen warned her Pokemon. She saw Claudine's red eyes begin to glow, a subtle sign that Battle Bond is about to be activated.

"King! Return. Charizard!" He said as he returns the fainted King back to his Pokeball, he then throws in Charizard, his last Pokemon alongside Claudine. Both him and Karen only have their last two Pokemon and from that realization, Yoake has to take caution while Karen acknowledges her biggest mistake; infuriating Claudine. She knows that she has nothing to defeat the two's Battle Bond other than her Greninja.

"Heh. I should've made a better decision, huh?" Karen smirked as she looked at the trainer. She noticed that the trainer was getting sore; she immediately concluded that both are ready to use Battle bond but Yoake seems to be trying to stop it - he is just delaying the inevitable.

"Please don't make me do this…" Yoake muttered as he tried to pacify himself but Claudine's anger was too strong. He tried to fight back but slowly and surely, he had to succumb to using it.

With the sandstorm continuing to surge through the battlefield, Yoake takes out a Mea stone from his pocket and activates it. Upon pressing the Mega stone, Charizard roared as it turned into its Mega X form. Karen was tempted to use the Mega stone on her breast pocket but she decided not to as she knows that mega evolving tyranitar would cause more problems than it should be.

"Charizard, use Seismic Toss on Tyranitar. Claudine, use Moonblast on Greninja."

"Tyranitar, use Rock Slide. Greninja, use Dig on Charizard."

After hearing his trainer, the Ninja Pokemon jumped to the ground and dug a hole. Charizard roared and charged towards Tyranitar while Claudine created a pink orb as she looked around and patiently waited for Greninja to pop out from the ground. Tyranitar made an uproar and caused the leftover pillars to fall down; some broke apart and turned into massive stones falling from the sky. Without the restraint from the lagging tail, Claudine begins to teleport around as she dodges the falling rocks. Charizard tackled Tyranitar's feet and made it tumble to the ground. Tyranitar immediately stood up and roared once more as the two Pokemon fought.

The two were in a stand-off but Tyranitar was struck from behind, it turned around and saw that it came from Claudine. Charized felt something was about to come out from the ground, curious on what it was, he decided to stand firm only to be attacked by a blue 'thing' and was knocked back, it was Greninja. The ninja pokemon swung its blue sword as soon as it jumped out from the ground.

"Charizard, Thunder Punch on Greninja. Claudine, avoid creating a sword, use Moonblast instead and support Charizard." Yoake muttered. He knows that Claudine was eager to attack Greninja with a sword and he was trying to do his best to stop her but he was powerless.

"No! It has to be done." Claudine ignored her trainer's command and created a pink sword from her hand as she looked at Greninja and was eager for a duel. This was for the first time Claudine ignored and rejected her trainer's suggestion and did it on her own.

"Claudine!" Yoake muttered once more as he saw Claudine carelessly charged towards Greninja with her sword. Seeing Claudine approaching Greninja, Charizard immediately got the cue to also attack the Ninja Pokemon.

The two attack Greninja on two fronts, Claudine on its left and Charizard on its right. Claudine swung her sword but Greninja parried it with its own while Charizard tried to punch him but Greninja jumped and made him punch Claudine instead, Greninja got back to the ground on an inverted handstand and kicked both Pokemon with its legs. The two were pushed to the side with Claudine feeling the shock from her body after receiving the punch; she shrugged it off as she lets herself be consumed by anger.

"Claudine, focus on Greninja. Charizard, take down Tyranitar with Seismic toss one more time."

"Tyranitar, Rock Slide one more time. Greninja, use Water Shuriken on Charizard."

Greninja immediately headed towards Charizard, jumping from the ground and was about to land on top of the Pokemon but the Flame Pokemon used it as its advantage and flew towards Greninja, tackling it, grabbing it and heading to the skies with it and fought there instead.

With the two gone, Claudine had no choice but to fight the Pokemon that she was frustrated with the most. She rushed towards the armored Pokemon with her sword ready to give a deadly attack. Tyranitar made another outcry as massive rocks emerged from the ground; he grabbed one and threw it at Claudine. The embrace Pokemon continued to approach the pokemon and when she saw the boulder heading towards her, she tumbled as she dodged it - she then saw more rocks being thrown at her, she managed to dodge some but to the others, she used her sword to slic the stone in half. She ran and faced the armor Pokemon, she swung her sword and attacked it but Tyranitar blocked it with its arms. She repeatedly swings her sword but it was no use. She then noticed that the Pokemon was about to cause an uproar so she created a forcefield to block the upcoming attack. Claudine's assumption saved her as the Tyranitar growled and hurled massive rocks at her, she was being pushed by the immense force but the shield continued to protect her until the rocks were slowly getting bigger and bigger - to the point it was as big as her.

She removed the forcefield and attacked once more. Tyranitar continues to throw rocks at her and she uses her sword to break those rocks apart. For every swing, both her and Yoake's battle spirit was slowly getting connected until a boulder was thrown at her as the armor Pokemon threw the remaining rocks from the pillars. One last swing and both of her and Yoake's eyes glow red and Battle Bond is finally activated.

Her appearance was far more different than before. All of the green had left her body and was replaced by a dark gray, her arms have black gloves and her red eyes glow even brighter to the point the audience can see it from a distance.

As the sandstorm slowly fades away, the people were shocked to see Gardevoir changed into a different form - a form that nobody knows about except for the handful of people. It was not Mega Evoution or an Evolution at all, it wasn't even an effect of Dynamax or those Z-moves.

"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!?" Jinku shouted on his podium upon seeing the thing on the battlefield. Jessica was speechless as well but she knows exactly what it was.

"He finally used it." Ren muttered upon seeing his brother use Battle Bond for the first time in a week.

Meanwhile, Greninja managed to get out from Charizard's hands and attacked the flame Pokemon by drawing out its sword. Greninja kicks Charizard and tries to find an opening but Charizard retaliates by punching him in the face; nearly losing his sword but he manages to get hold of it finally swings it to Charizard's body, fainting it in the process. The two fell to the ground with Greninja using Charizard as its cushion. When the two crashed, Claudine was already done with Tyranitar. The two's gaze were locked tight as they fainted their opponents and the only thing left was for the two to fight.

"Charizard, return."

"Tyranitar return." Karen said as she returned Tyranitar back to its Pokeball. She looked at the two Pokemon and realized that this was the end of the line.

She knows how important this battle and its outcome is to the future. If she loses, Yoake would be stronger and would take down Giovanni once and for all but at the cost of Kanto losing its culture of Mega Evolution and would cause turmoil as its consequences. If she wins, both Yoake and Claudine's frustration would be overwhelming, she knows that Giovanni wants this boy and if he managed to lay his hand on it, he would control everything but Kanto and its neighboring nations would be stable and keep its culture. There was no compromise as fate was already destined for them.

A fate to keep Kanto but lose the boy or a fate to make instability in the future just so they could finally remove the menace that plagued many lives. The world's fate was resting on Karen's shoulder.

It was a Duel of the Fates, a duel that would forever scar the world.
