Demon Invasion pt.1

"Hahahah, You two cleared the nest alone?!!, that's quite impressive" The bartender laughed as he poured saito and jason a glass of beer.

"Yeah but i did not enjoy the feeling of my mana getting drained" Jason said as he took a sip from his cup.

"Well, at least you got a reward, even though some people do not like the mention of dark magic" The bartender cautiously said as he looked around the bar.

Jason didn't bat an eye to the bartender, Frankly he does not care,he finds magic interesting and he doesn't care if it's forbidden or shit. "Too bad, whats gonna happen, a bunch of church members will try to hunt me down"

"Hah, They won't do that unless you reek of demon" The bartender reassured.

"*Cough* pardon me but what do you mean by that" Saito asked suddenly.

"Well demons have been going restless and rumors say of a war arriving this city in a few weeks" The bartender solemnly said as he poured a drink to a man who was closely listening to the conversation.

"Oh, that sounds bad,I wonder what their goal is" Jason said as he continued drinking.

"They must be after an Ancient relic kept by the Holy guild or something" The bartender replied as he continued serving the gathering crowd.

"Could be,but who knows, there are traitors everywhere" Saito said as he finished his drink and kept it on the table. Jason nodded and brought out his spellbook, he tried to read on runes,but he seemed to struggle for a bit.

"Well, I am going to the Library" Jason said as he stood up. Saito had nothing else to do,so he wouldn't mind following him. As the two stepped out of the bar, they were greeted once more by the bright appearance of the sun.

As the two made their way towards the library, they came across a party of four people wearing white and golden clothes. One of them who was a man with Silver hair and gold eyes looked at both saito and jasons weapons.

Saitos scythe was ws strapped to his back while his sword was sheated on his waist, he came to a realization he needed somewhere to store his weapons and items.

"Uh,Hello there would you mind giving us your audience fine sirs" The man came forward and bowed at the two.

"..Saito i'm busy trying to make a way so i cast this spell with less mana, so deal with" Jason said as saito cursed 'Spamming Addict' in his mind.

"Yeah, ok what do you want" Saito asked looking at the four.

"You seem to have gotten a little bit of demonsteel on you, you do know that demonsteel is cursed and takes away your lifespan the more you use it" The man said in worry.

"Pfft" Jason almost dropped his book,finding it actually funny, Lifespan? they are both immortal.

"Ah okay, and how does that affect us" Jason said closing the book,he had a mocking smile on his face.

"Mind your words mister, this is the hero sent to us by the goddess?!" A girl that seemed to be twelve said, She had black hair and brown eyes, on her back was a sword much bigger than herself.

"Oh, So you are from another world too?" Saito asked curiously and the party seemed to have gotten shocked by their revelation.

Saito didn't think it was big deal and jason didn't really care,as long as he can learn more spells and maybe get a girlfriend he doesn't mind.

"…..So you were also summoned by Goddess Aurora" The man asked with a smile on his face.

"Nah, anyways i need to go find a book about runes or something" Jason said as he continued walking, Saito followed.

The party wanted to follow them but they decided not to, After reaching the library saito paid one gold coin which gives him a card that allows him access for an entire month. Jason.

"Well i am going to go check if there are any weapon styles or techniques in one of these books" Saito said as he waved his hand and went deeper into the library.

Saito went towards the magic section,he skimmed through a few interesting books, he found an intemediate magic book, he was already done learning all the basic magic spells, But it was only Fire,Lightning and Wind.

he saw a book about enhancement magic and then picked it up, there were multiple enhancements spells in them, it didn't take him long to finish the book.

"Hmm? Why have i gotten stats so suddenly" Jason asked with confusion.

[Ding?! You have finished and mastered over 10 different spells, New title:Scholar: Everytime you master 10 spells you get +5 intelligence and your mana increases by 300].

"hmmm,Okay that doesn't sound like a bad title…oh well let's take these books and head to a nearby table" Jason said as he picked up three books and went to sit on a nearby table and then he started reading the book about Enhancement magic.

"Hello there, What are you doing" A girl with orange hair and and a small black horn on her head asked as she looked at saito picking up a few books.

"Who are you?" Saito cautiously asked.

"I am Meliana, Commander of the second demon legion" She said in a cute but terrifying tone.

"…..Uhm" Saito backed away.

"Don't worry though, i am already dead, i am actually inside that sword you are holding, since you did repair me i have enough energy to reveal myself to you" She said as she moved closer to him.

"…Soo why are you doing that" Saito asked a bit apprehensive.

"Well…since we are now forever bound, i can give you knowledge of my skills…Also i need a favor from you" She said looking at him hopefully.

"And what is thay" Saito asked.

"In the future can you kill my brother, he is the 7th General of the demon lord" She said and her form seems to flicker the next moment, she disappeared leaving saito baffled and confused. He took the books and decided to go and join jason.

After he arrived there, he saw jason silently flipping through a book.

"So mind explaining why your sword is floating beside you" Jason asked curiously.

"huh?!!, The fuck" Saito said immediately turning around and looked at his now floating sword, he turned to look at jason solemnly and said. "A demon is inside the sword".

"Sounds bad, Good luck" Jason replied casually and saito looked at him in disbelief.

for the next two hours or so, they continued reading their respective books.

After they finished the two returned the books and then went outside.

Jason unsheathed his katana and decided ti read the runes properly.

"Well, got a more informative insight on this rune, found out they are demon runes. it says

'Silence All and Bind Spirits.' It seems to be a spell designed to suppress the powers of any supernatural entity around. I think it can be useful for our upcoming battles."

"That does sound helpful," Saito replied, his eyes still glancing warily at his floating sword. "But what do you plan to do with those demon runes? Aren't they supposed to be dangerous or something?"

"Yeah, probably," Jason shrugged, "but if they give us an edge against whatever's coming, it's worth the risk. Plus, I need to understand how to integrate these runes into my spells without causing any backlashes."

Just as Jason was about to continue his explanation, a loud explosion echoed through the street, causing both of them to snap their heads in the direction of the sound. Smoke was rising from the direction of the city gates.

"Looks like our quiet day is over," Jason said, his grip tightening on his katana.

Saito nodded, his scythe now ready in his hands. "Let's go check it out."

As they made their way towards the commotion, the silver-haired man from earlier and his party joined them, their faces grim.

"It's the demons," the man said, his golden eyes narrowing. "They're here sooner than we thought."

"Figures," Jason muttered. "Looks like your information was spot on," he added, glancing at the bartender who had followed them out, worry etched on his face.

"Haahahahah, Suprising isn't it, Citizens of melodia, Submit to the demon lord or suffer?!!" The loud voice of a demon was heard all over the city.

"hmm, Saito looks like we are gonna get into our first 'real' battle'" Jason exclaimed as he readied his weapon.

"Oh well, i guess let's test out my scythe" he said as he brought out the scythe from a small ring, it was a spatial ring he bought for 10 gold coins.

"Not even a week here and we are already running into trouble" The silver haired man said and his party members readied themselves.

"Well…I guess it's time to use these old bones for something" The bartender said, his worried expression was gone and was replaced by serious expression on his face.

Another explosion was heard as a small battalion of demons went through the hole in the world.

One of the demons spotted the group and launched a flurry of arrows at them. Saitos eyes glinted as he swinged his scythe using the Move [Counter] to deflect most of the arrows.

Jason didn't waste anytime as he used [Electrc Dash] leaving a trail of electricity in his wake, he lunged his katana straight into the demons chest, the demon blocked with its bow, jason then immediately used [Stun Bolt] on it, then he grabbed the demon with his other arm and used [Draining touch] Weakening it.

Jason was about to finish off the demon when he sensed the fluctuation of mana behind him, he used the demons body as a shield. a bright red flame engulfed the demon killing it in the process, Jason through the corpse at the nearby enemy.

Saito came behind the mage and decapitated it. The silver haired man swinged his long sword sending out an arc of holy energy killing one of the demons.

*Boom*

Another explosion was heard as the city gates were breached, from it the imposing figure of giant demon with three horns and a wing came out.

"Shit, We maybe in trouble" Saito said grabbing his sword tht was floating near him.

"Yeah sure, i am going to use a fee spells, so i may run out of mana" Jason threw out more [Stun bolts], he swinged his katan killing a few more demons.

Jason combined [Stum bolt] and Dark magic to create [Dark Bolt], the attack not only paralyzes the opponent but also corrodes their mana and body.

The Girl with the large sword slammed her sword to the ground creating a shockwave and making the demons lose their balance.

The bartender used his hands to deflect the weapons used by the demons, he grabbed their faces and crushed their heads to a bloody pulp.

"Hahahah, Good there are actually some who are useful to the demon lord, Heia,Sel and Kina take those three,they seem interesting" The large demon said pointing at jason,Saito and the Silver haired man.

"oh~ Master can i take the one with the black hair as my disciple, he seems to have potential in magic" A woman who was wearing a black and red robe said, her staff was made of twisted roots and the skull of a human was mounted on top.Heia

"Clearly you lack the understanding at what talent means, the white haired boy has more talent in weapons" A bare chested man said, his face had a long scar running down his mouth. Sel.

"What are you two idiots blabbering about, let's just go kill them all?!!" A strange looking beast said, it resembled a lizard but with the tail that hand multiple spikes and had six legs…
