I flex my newly reformed arms as I touch back down on the battlefield. The fight was still in full force, but the Shadow Wizard Money Gang seemed to be taken care of, as the rest of the main group was now fighting random gang grunts... Or what was left of them. There were literally five left, and they were being hunted down like rats. One screamed in terror as he ran, only for him to trip and fall in a crater, and get eviscerated by a demonic Oiran. By the time I reached them, there was nobody left except for us, and Hiruka and his gang members. Hiruka glimpses at me, acknowledging my presence, before pointing to a large figure on the horizon. "That's the Capitol, Darufuka. We aren't completely sure that Atticus will be there, but I guess all we can do is hope." I nod. "I am highly constipated currently."
It took mere seconds to reach the Capitol, and we now stand at the foot of the looking tower. It was almost intimidating, having upon it's sheer stature, but I swallowed this imposition, and stepped forward alongside the others. I stepped inside the building, and was meet by a sight that I was expecting, but was REALLY hoping come to fruition- stairs. A lot of fucking stairs. I sighed deeply- but stopped as Oiran's annoyed glare met my face, and I stifled my sadness.
Just as I expected, my legs burnt with an insane force, and we weren't even halfway up the flight. I was used to moving at light speeds, but that was a byproduct of an ability or superpower. This was just raw physical movement. As we arrived at the final floor, I fell to the ground with a resounding thud, falling to the ground while I gasped for air. The room in front of me was as royal and gallant as any room of it's importance shouldb be- golden tiger statues stood rigid upon neatly kept tatami mats. The walls behind them depicted various artistic depictions of godlike beings- and a penis. I don't know why that's there.
Shinimaru outstretches his hand toward me, lifting me back to my feet. Hiruka grumbles something indistinguishable before regaining his composure, and speaking. "He's not here." I fall to the ground again, slamming my fists onto the tatami mat below me. "I WALKED UP ALL THOSE STAIRS FOR FUCKING NOTHING?!?" Hiruka raises his hands before shoving them in his baggy pockets. "We'll just head back to base camp, and-"
A primal fear shook me to my very core as a low, gutteral growl resonated throughout the kingly chamber. My hair stood on end, goosebumps rippling across my body. The light that flowed in from the windows completely halted as something seemed to blot out the sun. I slowly turn my head toward the main window in front of me, ever fiber in my body begging me to not do exactly that. As my head came to a stop, what I saw sent the most raw sense of terror I had ever felt crashing through my body. A twitching red eye stared inside at us, watching with an almost petrifying intelligence. I had no idea why this terrified me as it did, but whatever this thing was- it was something beyond human understanding.
Everyone around me seemed to be in the same state of stupor as me, but Hiruka seemed to snap out of it, and swiveled in our direction, yelling. "RUN!'' Everyone, including me, snapped back to reality, and followed Hiruka in sprinting out of the long corridor that was this top chamber. As we ran, the beast snarled, moving it's enormous face until it's mouth was level with the window - it's dark yellow teeth and pink throat on him display. Yellow energy began to swirl around it's mouth, pure power disrupting the air around it. I was the only one fast enough to escape this obviously incoming blast, and I was pondering leaving everyone-
A sharp watery sound could be heard as Hiruka 's assistant expanded a portal in front of our rampant stampede. Hiruka yelled back at us. "Everyone!! Jump in!" I tried to come up with a witty response, but I bit my own tongue while running. I leapt into the portal alongside everyone else, reality bending around us as we temporarily entered the limbo space between congruent time. We emerged on the other side, flying through the air as we feel through the airborne portal. I turned around unsteadily as to get a glimpse of the beast that we had nearly fallen prey to.. What stood dominantly in front of the turret was a creature of divine proportion. It was reminiscent of a hydra, glistening Jade scales crawled across it's body, flickering and shining under the shadows of it's enormous wings..
"Wait a minute." I mutter. It's the exact same beast as the one that Oiran and I saw in the forest that one time. A fallen warrior of the gods, and a killing machine being our own realm of reason and comprehension...
A Ukipok.
sorry for the short chapter today, but I would like to know some feedback on the recent fight scenes and how I can improve in the comments.
