Chapter 6

It was another day in Forks, Washington. The weather was dreary but the people were friendly. Class was ok, really. 'sigh'

I was learning absolutely nothing new but at least I was learning about how humans interact with each other. Rosalie was not happy with the amount of time I spent with the human females, but they seemed drawn to me. They were still cautious but my human warmth made them think I was one of them. I was learning more about the Cullen coven as well.

Alice was a bubbly little sprite and she wanted me to be her dress up doll, which was cute but I liked choosing my own clothes. I had enough of this type of fantasy play and dress-ups with mother and my aunts. I am rather masculine and they wanted to beat it out of me but they seemed to adjust to my being fluid.

Jasper and I were making head way in our friendship, we talked a lot about wars and history. This knowledge, on my side was curtesy of uncle Caius. Jas liked being near me because my shield was always up so he didn't experience my emotions. Emmett was a big teddy bear. I liked him a lot.

I had been in forks for about a month now and was accustomed to the routine I had built while I was here. The Cullen's were still weary of Jane and Alec but they were more comfortable with them now than before. Jane and Emmett were bonding rather well, the humans thought it was a weird relationship seeing how small she was and how big he was. She glared a lot and he was always smiling and laughing. It was a rather odd relationship but a good one. Edward and Alec were enjoying each others company a lot. Alec rarely spoke and was happy to have someone who could read his mind and know just what he needed, Edward was happy to have someone who loved to listen to him play as well as who's mind was rather quiet. Everyone in the coven was now paired off but Rosalie was still rather cold towards me but I was winning her over little by little.

I woke up early today, seems like the blood I had last night was working wonders. I had had more than normal because the bond between Rose and I was straining a little with how little physical contact we had. It snowed a little last night so I left the bike at the house and went to school. I parked the car and got out. I was standing next to my car for less than two minutes when I heard it. The screech of tires on the road. I turned my head a saw a horrid scene, Tyler has lost control of his van and was heading straight for me. I was in front of the student body, I could not move like a vampire. I turned my head to look over to the Cullen's and saw the horror on Rose's face. Luckily for her I was the only one looking at her but in that moment she was all I could focus on. In a split second she was by my side, the van was next. Rose wrapped her arms around me, pulled me to her chest and reached one hand towards the van and stopped it in its tracks. The van skidded and hit the corner of my car jostling it. I looked up at Rose her eyes were pitch black, her vampire was out. She was glaring at the car and switching to glare at Tyler who had banged his head on the glass. I wrapped my arms around her and she started to calm but just barely. I moved her head to my shoulder and she inhaled my scent to ensure I had no injuries. She calmed a little more. I could hear screaming of the student body around us and people rushing to see whether I was dead or alive.

There was an opening on one side of the two cars so I walked Rosalie out of the mess and towards her car while she was in my arms. We got to the other side of the parking lot and people swarmed the cars we had just left. The vampires stayed away knowing that Rosalie might attack in the mode she was in currently. Her mate had almost been harmed. I leaned on the hood of her car and held her in my arms until EMT's arrived. They insisted on checking me out and Rose insisted that I needed to be seen by her father, obviously having forgotten I was half vampire. I went with them to ease her.

At the hospital Charlie acted the part of the concerned parent very well, while I was not his child, to the town I was still a human that almost died. Between him and Rose they wanted to revoke Tyler's driver licence but I managed to convince them that accidents happen. On the way to the Cullen's I learned that Jane had reported the incident to my father, my mother was trying to calm him and remind him that I was half vampire and could fight Caius and survive, not win but survive. He was not pleased it took another hour phone call to calm him down, I really was a daddy's girl.

Esme made me a nice meal and I spent the night.

Rose's room was a beautiful blue, she showed me to her bed and insisted I sleep. Not suggested, insisted. I was tired luckily but my condition was that she had to be in the bed as well while I fell asleep. She scowled but agreed anyway. I fell asleep with her by my side. She was reading a novel and I was wearing her clothes.

Argh.

Her scent was going to be the death of me.
