CHAPTER 12 : fate is unfair

Lily's state of mind was in chaos.

She was in a state of disbelief.

After suddenly coming to this unknown world, the first thing she was ever relieved about was her being a beta.

Because for her, it wasn't just about the original novel story plot, but in fact she didn't wanted to get involved herself with the alpha x omega and pheromone stuff.

It wasn't like she hated them.

It's just that, she couldn't trust a relationship solely based on pheromones.

She thought , if she ever entered a relationship based on the alpha or omega instinct she would always feel uneasy.

Because, what will happen if her partner suddenly find someone else's pheromones more compatible and appealing than her's?

This could happen in this kind of world.

Which is why she didn't trust those relationships.

She knew that pheromones can cause unnecessary attraction towards someone, even if that person is not truly willing for it.

She had this kind of fear in her heart.

Especially, in this world, in which she didn't knew how exactly relationship worked as a outside person.

She didn't ever wanted to be betrayed by the person she would love.

She thought, not everyone's love story can be happy like the protagonists.

Lily always thought of having a very loving relationship with someone. In which she could be happy.

In which she could love her partner wholeheartedly and that person will also love her the same.

So she was happy being a beta, who couldn't sence pheromones, didn't have to go through heats, didn't had any pheromones issues.

Just like a person she was in her original world.

But, what?

What was she hearing right now?

The doctor was saying, She is an omega?

But how come?

The original lily wasn't an omega, she was definitely a beta so why am I an omega?

She recalled something.

Coming in this world without much knowledge was not good . Even if she had original Lily's memories,those were hazy. That's why she read so many book after coming here.

From one of those book ,she read an old looking book in which some lines were written saying ,that the nature of manifestation of a individual depends upon their nature of their soul.

At that time she didn't take those words seriously.

But now she couldn't ignore those.

'Does that mean, I became an omega because my soul entered Lily's body?'

She concluded.

They were congratulating lily, for her manifestation as an omega.

They didn't knew, how bitter these words were for her.

She was just blankly staring at their faces.

"Oh, congratulations darling. I am happy for you."

Lily's mother said to her with a tender tone. Taking Lily's hand in her both hands and squeezing it tightly.

Her mother's voice made her conscious of her surroundings, pulling her out that chaotic mind state.

She didn't knew, how she should react in front them. Especially leo and Louis since both of them were omega.

She couldn't show her displeasure about becoming an omega before them and made them think that she hates omega.

She didn't wanted to hurt their feelings.

So, she put up a forced smile on her face.

"Th.. Thank you."

Her throat was tight, even so she said with a slightly trembling voice which couldn't be noticed by others.

Due to her pitiful situation, She was on the verge of crying but she held it in with all her might. Hoping not to show them.

Despite all her efforts this body wasn't listening to her.

Without her permission, the tears were flowing out a river without stopping.

"Lily?"

"Why are you crying darling?"

Lily mother got startled seeing her daughter cry.

"Oh... No...no.. It's  nothing."

"It's....it's...just everything is so sudden and i think the fever I acting up again."

"I'll be fine."

Lily said with a trembling voice, while controlling her pull of emotions.

She was desperately trying to wipe off the tear flowing through her eyes with her bare hands.

Leo and Louis was standing in front of her, we're quietly watching her.

Lily didn't notice, but they could see that she was trembling.

They could sense how desperately she was trying to control her emotions and force herself to smile.

After all these years of friendship, they knew lily well.

They knew how much lily liked being a beta. And they also knew that, she never differentiated or considered them or any other omega in a bad manner like how society treated them in shadows.

She was a very upright and strong person but she also had a secretive and emotional side to her which she never showed anyone.

Seeing lily trying hard to supress her emotions and her flowing tears, Leo walked toward her and sat next to her on the bed.

He gently put his hand on her her shoulder patting her, and said,

"You don't have to try so hard lily."

"You don't have to smile, if you are not happy."

"You don't have to pretend to be happy for our sake."

Lily was just staring at him with full of watery eyes.

"We all know you well."

"We know what kind of person you are. "

"You could never hurt us."

Leo smiled and Louis smiled at her warmly.

Those words soothed her throbbing heart, as if they could read her mind, she finally let out her crying voice. Burying her face in palms.

She was grateful for having such friends.

After a while she calmed down.

"Ar..ahem..heem.. "

"Well, it's not that bad living as a omega you know"

Louise said in a playful tone while clearing his throat to lighten up the mood.

"And you don't have to worry we'll take care of you and help you adjust."(Louis)

"And you see..., there are also fun things you can do as an omega."

Leo said in a mysterious flirtatious tone.

"Fun things? Like what? "

Lily asked innocently, lightning up her sad expression.

"Chuckle.... "

"Your so inocent lily."

"I mean.... you know...., your already so gorgeous, so like seducing alphas to your heart content, playing around and enjoying your life."

Leo said with a teasing voice.

Lily's eyes glared at Leo, like saying 'are you serious right now?'.

"I am not you Leo."

She said tilting her head with a devilish smirk.

Leo pouted at Lily's words.

Everyone burst out laughing including lily.

Lily got discharged from the hospital.

"You have to take full rest . your pheromones are very unstable right now so don't do anything unnecessary till the pheromones are stabilized."

"Ok."

"Good, and don't take it lightly. You are a doctor yourself so you know better than anyone else about your condition."

Louis nagged lily.

"Yes yes I understand."

"But what could have triggered your manifestation so suddenly?"

Leo asked lifting his eyebrows.

"I'm not sure, it isn't common. But I had read in an old medical records that it could have been triggered by being in contact with alpha pheromones.

To say more precisely, a specific alpha's pheromones like a fated pair but for a long time now there aren't any cases like that."

"Did you by any chance met someone like that, lily? "

Louis asked lily curiously.

A sudden imagine flashed in front of Lily's eyes.

"...!?"
