Chapter 22 It Has to Be Yan Wen!

The corners of Yan Wen's mouth turned up in happiness. With the support of someone who constantly believed in her, she was unafraid of anything.

「Lingyun!」 Bai Zhexuan opened his door on hearing the commotion. 「You are supposed to be in the hospital, what are you doing here!」

「If I don't come back, Yan Wen will take everything away!」 Jiang Lingyun clung onto Bai Zhexuan.

Unable to dislodge her, Bai Zhexuan had no choice but to end his meeting early. Behind closed doors and with his assistant standing guard outside, Bai Zhexuan told Jiang Lingyun, 「I've already set up an appointment with Yan Wen and Xia. I'll advise her to drop the role. That way, Director Chen can't say anything about it.」

「That's easy to say. She's opposing you on purpose to get you to abandon me! This is all part of her elaborate trap. She wants to destroy me!」 Jiang Lingyun gritted her teeth angrily. She did not hide her hatred of Yan Wen from Bai Zhexuan.

Yan Wen had been acting strange lately and Jiang Lingyun's words were not entirely unreasonable.

「Zhexuan, since she's still in the company, advise her to give up the role and just marry you and be a good wife.」 She continued.

On hearing the knocking on the door, Bai Zhexuan loosened Jiang Lingyun's grip and took a big step away from her. 「Come in.」

「So President Bai's important meeting was with Jiang Lingyun?」 Xia eyed the two of them alone in the room as she entered with Yan Wen.

Bai Zhexuan and Jiang Lingyun shared a glance and were about to explain when Yan Wen sat on the sofa, expressionless.

She felt nothing for him but the show was not over yet.

「Xia, Zhexuan's doing it for the company. According to the news, he and Lingyun are in the clear right? My fiance ...」 Yan Wen's attention was on Bai Zhexuan but her tone was cold.

「Yes!」 Bai Zhexuan rushed to sit next to Yan Wen. 「Yan Wen, this is the best kind of support you can give me. I'm so lucky to marry you!」

Yan Wen laughed coldly in her heart as she kept her distance from him and gave Xia a look.

「This is the contract Director Chen sent over. Yan Wen has already signed it so it is just missing President Bai's stamp.」 Xia aggressively slid the contract onto the table, watching as Jiang Lingyun clenched her teeth.

Bai Zhexuan was shocked. 「You really want to stage a comeback? Yan Wen, I don't agree with this.」

Yan Wen made a disgruntled sound. 「Why? Afraid I'll steal the resource for Lingyun? I really want to know who is the fiance and who is the outsider here.」

She looked pointedly at Jiang Lingyun, sending Bai Zhexuan into a panic.

「Stop it, Yan Wen!」 His face changed. 「We're getting married soon. If you stage a comeback now, aren't you abandoning me? Can you bear to?」

Jiang Lingyun stepped in too. 「And it's just a secondary lead role. They're not taking you seriously, Yan Wen. Don't be used by them, you have to reject it.」

「Miss Jiang, I am talking to my fiance. If you say another word, as the lady boss of Grand Entertainment, I will kick you out!」 Yan Wen had enough of her.

「You...」 Jiang Lingyun was unable to reply.

Bai Zhexuan frowned and took in Yan Wen's expression. In all these years, she had never lost her temper in front of him and it made him uncomfortable. This matter needed a resolution in order to nip further problems in the bud. He kicked up the contract and said, 「That's enough. I will think about this and give you an answer by tomorrow.」

Yan Wen nodded in agreement.

「I'm not feeling well, I'm leaving!」 Jiang Lingyun deliberately announced and left the room in a hurry, looking extremely put upon.

Yan Wen observed Bai Zhexuan's face as he watched her leave. She should have noticed that his gaze had long been on someone else.
