Calm Before the Storm 1

While Jack was worrying about Thanos and other villains from the universe that could attack Earth, he had forgotten that there were also villains on Earth who would not just keep Earth in peace since they didn't even know about Thanos.

After the Avengers' last mission destroying Hydra bases, the people of the world and governments were at peace with the Avengers and knew they were necessary. Weaker villains were afraid of the power shown by the Avengers.

After all, 6 new heroes joined the Avengers, who now officially had 13 members. Of these 13 members, only Thor was not on Earth, the other 12 lived on Earth and if villains caused too many problems, they could end up calling the attention of the Avengers.

In addition, 5 of the 6 new Avengers drew attention for their great strength. War Machine was practically another Iron Man, Pietro was so fast that villains didn't know how to defend themselves against him, Wanda seemed to have powers that could defeat enemies using her mind, and Human Torch was already a known hero.

The other new Avenger was actually the Hulk, whom many heroes, villains, and governments feared. The Hulk was immortal, had the greatest strength, and nobody knew how to stop him, but now he was controlled by the brilliant scientist, Bruce Banner.

So only a few villains didn't worry too much about the new Avengers, especially because besides the Hulk, no one knew how strong they were. Magneto, who was worried about having been defeated by Jack, made the biggest mistake of his life by seeking out another villain to find partners to defeat the Avengers.

Magneto wanted mutants to be able to dominate humanity so that they would be the leaders. He never thought about destroying humanity or taking over the whole Earth, after all, Magneto always knew that powerful people existed like the Inhumans, the Fantastic Four, and Doctor Doom.

Magneto knew that even if mutants took over humanity, the Fantastic Four would protect America and maybe several countries from mutants, and Doctor Doom would protect Latveria and wouldn't let mutants take over his country.

Magneto also always knew that other individual heroes existed, like Spider-Man, but what worried him the most happened: Loki came to dominate Earth and appeared in New York, and so the solitary heroes joined together and formed the Avengers.

Magneto soon learned that Battle Sage, who was one of the Avengers, approached the X-men. It seemed that the Brotherhood of Mutants would have to face the Avengers too if they wanted mutants to dominate Earth in the future.

Just as Jack thought, Magneto had the means to obtain information about what was happening at the X-mansion. So he knew that Battle Sage was dating Rogue, who was the daughter of Mystique, and he also knew when Jack broke up with Rogue and distanced himself from the mutants.

Even so, Magneto decided to only act in Germany to prevent Battle Sage and the Avengers from interfering. He was not afraid of the X-men, but Magneto soon realized he was wrong when Battle Sage arrived, captured Mystique, and nearly defeated him and other members of the Brotherhood of Mutants.

Magneto was irritated and ashamed that he was only released when Charles Xavier asked for him. Magneto was also threatened by Battle Sage not to do it again, and Charles warned him too. The worst part was that Magneto also knew that Jack wasn't lying and could capture or kill him whenever he wanted.

Even so, Magneto would not obey and would simply remain at peace. He knew that humans like Jack were a much smaller minority than mutants. Mutants were the natural evolution of humanity. Magneto couldn't stand that in many countries, mutants suffered prejudice, were captured, died, and had to live in hiding.

That's why Magneto had the idea of ​​going to Latveria to try to get an alliance with Doctor Doom. After all, there weren't many powerful villains who could currently fight against the Avengers as he and Doctor Doom could.

Doctor Doom hadn't been trying to be a villain since Jack arrived on Earth. In recent years, Latveria had been peaceful and Doctor Doom had only had a few conflicts with the Fantastic Four, and he had no plans to destroy or rule the Earth.

As Latveria was doing well and Doctor Doom was fond of Reed's daughter, Valeria Richards, who sometimes visited him secretly, Doctor Doom was content. He was very happy when Johnny left the Fantastic Four, leaving the other members sad.

Doctor Doom was an intelligent villain, and he knew that without the right opportunity, he couldn't defeat all the heroes on Earth. In the comics, he only tried to conquer the Earth after obtaining the power of the Beyonder, the cosmic power of Galactus, and the Silver Surfer.

The only ones Doctor Doom hated were the members of the Fantastic Four, and he would attack them if he could. If it weren't for the Fantastic Four, Doctor Doom would be fine as long as no one thought of invading Latveria.

Especially after Valeria Richards was born, he started to move further away from the dark side. In the comics, after some time, Doctor Doom would switch to the side of the heroes. So Jack wasn't very concerned about Doctor Doom.

Magneto didn't know this and couldn't imagine that one of the greatest villains on Earth was thinking about changing. That's why he went to find Doctor Doom. As Doctor Doom knew Magneto, he allowed him to enter his palace.

"Doctor Doom, I've come to propose an alliance. With the arrival of the Avengers, the world seems to be changing. I feel that soon villains like us will have no place in this world. We have to do something to get rid of the Avengers," said Magneto.

"Magneto, as far as I know, you only care about your mutants. You don't care about killing millions of people or threatening to destroy the Earth for the mutants. Since when did you start caring about other villains?" asked Doctor Doom.

"Since the Avengers started meddling in mutant business. Before, I only had to deal with the X-Men. Now I'm starting to face the Avengers when I seek equality for mutants," said Magneto.

Doctor Doom knew that Magneto was lying. He knew that Magneto didn't seek equality for mutants, but rather believed that mutants were superior to humans and wanted to rule the Earth.

But at least now Doctor Doom understood why Magneto didn't like the Avengers. According to the reports his men had obtained, the Brotherhood of Mutants would have difficulty dealing with the Avengers, and only Magneto would give them more trouble.
