Chapter 3- shock

Chapter 3- shock

The three figures in front of me were Aiya, my classmate and crush; Mai Sensei, the high school principal; and my best friend, Deku Martini.

Aiya looked at me with deep concern. "Asahi-kun, are you okay? Are you hurt?" Her voice shook, making me feel a pang of guilt.

"I'm fine," I said, trying to sound more reassuring than I felt. I turned to Deku, who was struggling to keep his emotions in check. "They're inside. The ambulance should be arriving soon."

As if on cue, the wail of the approaching ambulance pierced the air. I stepped aside to let them see the scene inside.

Aiya, Mai Sensei, and Deku peered in, their eyes widening in shock. The bullies lay on the floor, bruised and bleeding. The ones who were still conscious were struggling to lift their injured friends, moving slowly and painfully toward the stairs.

One of the bullies, his voice trembling with fear, managed to say, "Okay, boss, bye." The sight of their battered bodies and their weak attempts to move was almost pitiable.

Mai Sensei's face showed a mix of sternness and concern. "Asahi-kun, why did you beat them so badly?"

I took a deep breath, trying to steady my emotions. "They attacked me first. I was just defending myself. I didn't mean to hurt them so badly."

Mai Sensei's expression softened a bit, but she remained serious. "Self-defense is one thing, but you need to control your strength. Violence should be a last resort."

Deku stepped forward, his face a blend of relief and worry. "Asahi, are you sure you're okay? You were amazing out there, but I'm really worried about you."

I nodded, forcing a smile. "I'm okay, just a bit sore. But we need to make sure those guys get proper medical help."

Aiya, still worried, reached out and gently touched my arm. "Please be careful next time. I don't want you getting hurt."

Her touch was comforting, and I managed another small smile. "I'll be careful. Thanks, Aiya."

As the ambulance arrived and paramedics took over, the tension in the air began to ease. Mai Sensei looked at me with a mix of authority and concern. "Asahi-kun, you'll need to provide a full report on what happened."

I nodded. "I understand, Mai Sensei. I'll give you all the details."

Deku clapped me on the shoulder. "Let's talk more about this later. For now, let's get through the rest of the day."

Aiya, still visibly shaken, asked, "Do you need to see the nurse or a doctor?"

I shook my head. "I'm fine, really. Thanks for checking."

As the paramedics carried the injured away, Mai Sensei motioned for me to follow her. We walked to her office, where she had me sit down.

"Tell me everything that happened," Mai Sensei said, her tone gentle but firm.

I recounted the events, from the initial confrontation to the fight and the aftermath. Mai Sensei listened carefully, taking notes. When I finished, she looked at me thoughtfully.

"This is a serious situation, Asahi-kun. We need to ensure that everyone involved is treated fairly. I'll discuss this with the school board, and we'll see what steps need to be taken."

"Thank you, Mai Sensei," I said.

As I left her office, Deku and Aiya were waiting for me. "How'd it go?" Deku asked.

"Mai Sensei is handling it," I replied. "We'll see what happens next."

The rest of the school day passed in a blur. The incident had left a mark on the school, and I could feel the eyes of my classmates on me. Some looked at me with awe, while others seemed unsure.

After school, Aiya and Deku walked with me to the park nearby. We found a quiet spot, and I finally relaxed a bit.

"I've been thinking," Deku said. "Maybe we should talk to Mai Sensei about getting some training. You've got potential, but you need to learn how to control your power better."

Aiya nodded in agreement. "And maybe find a way to deal with situations like this without getting hurt or hurting others."

I looked at my friends, feeling a mix of gratitude and determination. "You're right. I need to learn how to handle this better. Thanks for being here for me."

As we sat together, watching the sun set, I felt a sense of resolve. This day had changed a lot, but it also showed me who my true friends were and what I needed to work on. With their support, I felt ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead and learn from this experience.
