Chapter 5 *A Girl's past*

(The days went by with no action happening. Just a few kids stealing wallets. Reo fixed up his wounds, still thinking on being on his own. They all decided to get some rest for tomorrow. Selene decides to wake up early, to get a head start.)

Selene: "Maybe Reo will see that I'm actually good at this stuff, if I'm already ready before him."

(Selene decides to make a cup of coffee. She grabs a mug and stands there for a moment. She thinks about the video that was posted from the news. Kaen standing there with fire everywhere, but then she started thinking of another fire. Instead of Kaen standing there, it was a girl. She had medium straight black hair,and green eyes. She couldn't make out what she was wearing, but she was screaming at her.)

???: Mizuki!

(Selene broke her daze and then lost her balance and fell. She dropped the mug which then shattered into little pieces. Reo walked in.)

Reo: "Selene!"

Selene: "It's ok. I'm fi..."

Reo: "My mug, damn it. What are you, drunk this early in the morning? Walking around throwing mugs on the floor."

Selene: "No I just lost my balance."

Reo: "You're paying for that. I can't be spending all my money on mugs because you decided to have a drinking party by yourself."

Selene: I'll clean it up.

(Selene cleaned up the pieces of the mug, while trying not to think of her family.)

(The three of them go out to the city looking for more crime to stop. Reo and Selene walking and Sara a little ahead of them doing a little dance to no music.)

Sara: "Hey Reo, can you play some music?"

Reo: "I don't have a phone."

Sara: "You don't? Why not?"

Reo: "I can barely afford where I live. I'm not gonna spend all my money on something to help me talk to people. Especially when I don't like talking to people."

Sara: "You like talking to me."

Reo: "I don't."

Sara: "Come on Reo. You're lucky, most people are born and raised as only children. Hey Selene, do you have any siblings."

(Selene was still walking. She didn't say anything back, she wasn't listening.)

Sara: "Selene!"

(She was snapped out of her own trance.)

Selene: "Yea, huh?"

Sara: "I said do you have any siblings."

Selene: "Uh, no. No I don't."

Sara: "See Reo. Her childhood must've sucked. She had no one to hang with besides her parents. At least you had me."

Reo: "I tried to stay away from both you and our parents."

Sara: "Reo. You're mean."

Reo: "No one said I was nice."

(Reo and Sara continued to argue back and forth. Selene went back in her little trance. Remembering the fire when she was young, remembering her parents dying, remembering her sister.)

Reo: "There's no crime, again. Why are villains not doing anything anymore? It's pissing me off. Selene, stop being quite damn it. Use your wind to fly up and look for crime or something."

Selene: "Huh? Oh uh, ok."

(Selene then flies up in the air and looks around. She just kinda spins slowly looking, but then she sees another girl, right in front of her flying too. She had medium straight hair, and green eyes. She was wearing a shirt that said Tokyo on it, and jeans.)

???: "Hey sis."

Selene: "Ruri!"

(Selene flys over to Ruri and gives her a hug. Ruri has the same power as Selene, just doesn't have lighting.)

Reo: "Selene, what's taking you so long? Who the hell is that?"

Selene: "Sorry Reo. Here let's go down."

(They both fly down.)

Selene: "Guys, this is my sister, Ruri."

Ruri: "Hi."

Reo: "Awwww, I don't care. Is she helping us, because I really don't feel like splitting any more profit."

Selene: "No, she's not the hero type."

Ruri: "I actually have a job in Tokyo. I'm part of the team that helps out the people. Like if there's a battle between heroes and villains, and people are in the way, we have a team that goes save them."

Reo: "Oh I get it. You're part of the team that doesn't do anything."

Ruri: "Well we do stuff, but it's just helping the people."

Reo: "Oh, and after the few people that decided not to run away get saved. Do you help the hero?"

Ruri: "N-no. We then completed the job."

Reo: "Ooooh, so then you watch the hero get beat up, as you and your buddies get ice cream."

Ruri: "It's usually snow cones."

Reo: "So let's go back to what I said before. You do nothing. Okay let's go, we gotta find more crime."

Sara: "O-oh ok. Bye Selene. Bye Selene's sister."

(Reo walks off and Sara follows.)

Selene: "Well I guess I should go. He will leave me. You should come with us, I'd like to hang out with you more."

Ruri: "It's alright. I don't think your boss likes me."

Selene: "Well he's not really my boss, and he doesn't like anyone in general really."

Ruri: "Well, we should hang out later, around five."

Selene: "Ok, meet me at the coffee shop down the street from the bank."

Ruri: "Ok."

(Selene then runs after Reo and Sara. Ruri stands back waving and then she flys off.)

(Ruri flys for a little bit through the city looking around. She sees people walking, cars driving, nothing really out of the ordinary. It just looks like a normal boring day. It soon turns five, and Ruri is waiting at the coffee shop. Eventually Selene shows up. They both get a cup of coffee and sit next to a window and start talking.

Selene: "Hey, Ruri. So what's been going on with you."

Ruri: "Nothing much, just work really. How about you? I see you made some friends."

Selene: "Well I say friends, Reo says parasites, so yeah I'm doing good."

Ruri: "Yeah that Reo guy. He doesn't seem the nicest."

Selene: "He's not, but he means well."

Ruri: "Well if you like him, I like him."

Selene: "Well how's work going."

Ruri: "Alright, nothing exciting. How about your work Ms.hero."

Selene: "It's alright, not as cool as they make you think. Just a lot of looking for bad guys, and nowadays they're not that bad. Just some loser trying to rob a store or something."

Ruri: "What about that robbery you stopped. That wasn't enough action for you."

Selene: "Well...actually...Reo did most of the work. I just helped the hostages, so yeah not that exciting on my part.

Ruri: "It's always been your dream to be a hero. You always wanted to save kids around the world."

Selene: "Yeah, when I was like seven, and that was after mom and dad died, so I was really into saving people."

(Selene takes a sip of her coffee and looks down.)

Selene: "Hey, how come you came over?"

(Ruri looks at her funny.)

Ruri: "Am I not allowed to check on my little sis."

Selene: "I mean, you usually would give me some notice, but you didn't."

(Ruri takes a sip of her coffee and then looks out the window.)

Ruri: "I think you should move to Tokyo with me."

Selene: "What, why?"

Ruri: "When you left I thought I was ready for you to go. I thought I was over everything that happened, but when I saw you on the news, I immediately thought the worst. I know you were fine, but what if you weren't. I just don't like you being so far from me that I can't help you."

Selene: "I'm nine-teen. I can take care of myself."

Ruri: "I just don't like you living alone."

Selene: "Well technically I'm living with Reo, because I lost my place."

Ruri: "That's worst. You're not living here anymore, let's go."

Selene: "No!"

Ruri: "What?"

Selene: "You don't get to act like my mom now!"

Ruri: "Don't talk like that."

Selene: "Stop treating me like a child. I'm trying to grow up, and It's hard to with you always holding me back."

(Selene stood up and walked to the door. She opens it and then looks back to Ruri.)

Selene: "I'm gonna be the best hero. Then you'll see that I'm grown."

(Selene then closed the door and left.)

(Ruri sat there and put her hand on her face.)

Ruri: "Mom, dad, why'd you have to die in that fire."

(While Selene was gone, Reo and Sara patrolled the city.)

Sara: "Hey, Reo. Will there be a lot of crimes at this time? Like wouldn't criminals want to do crime at night?"

Reo: "You are right, but it doesn't hurt to still look. Now that those good for nothing sisters are gone, we get more money for each crime we stop."

Sara: "That's smart. You've always been the smart one, bro."

Reo: "You sure as hell aren't, now come on, we gotta keep looking."

(They both run around the city, but still can't find anything. They eventually walk past a convenient store with a bench and Sara sits down.)

Sara: "Uhhhh, my legs are killing me."

Reo: "Stop being a baby, come one let's go."

Sara: "Please let me rest, I'm so tired."

Reo: "Listen you can rest, once we have an official place to stay."

Sara: "PLLLLLEEEEAAAAAAASSSSSSEEEEEEE!!"

(Just then a man runs out of the store with a plastic bag of money. The man that owns the store runs out after him. He stops in front of Reo and Sara.)

Owner: "He stole my money from me. Please get him."

Reo: "Finally, some action!"

(He then goes full electric mode and chases the robber. Sara continues to sit on the bench.)

Sara: "Go get him big bro. I'll be here, waiting."

(Reo catches up immediately because of the electric speed. He tackles the robber to the ground.)

Robber: "Damn it. Get off me."

Reo: "No."

(Reo picks him up and grabs the money, then runs back to the store. He gives the owner the money.)

Owner: "Thank you. What is your name?"

Reo: "Reo."

Owner: "Ok, I'll spread the word about what you did here, Reo."

(The Owner then heads back to his store.)

Reo: "Come on you good for nothing sister. Let's go to the station."

Sara: "Ok."

(They arrive at the station, and hand over the robber to the cop)

Cop: "Thank you. This will be in the books. Take him in the back please."

Robber: "Please, let me go. I need to show my worth. Show I'm ready."

Reo: "To who?"

Robber: "The one that is gonna fix this world of it's flaws. The one that will fix all of your pride. The one named..."

(Just then a black blur came from the ground right next to Reo and disappeared. Reo looked at the robber, and his throat was slashed. Reo looked up and saw a man standing in front of a building. Reo couldn't make out any details, just that he was wearing a suit. The man turned around and started running. Reo went electric mode and ran after him. He jumped up the building, but once he got up to the top, he couldn't see where the man could've gone. He then looked over and saw a man laying on the ground, in a puddle of his own blood. Reo didn't realize it at first, but it was the guy that got away at the bank a few days ago. He looked over and in his blood was written something. It said 'YOUR OWN STRENGTH WILL BE YOUR WEAKNESS'. Reo didn't know what to do about this, so he grabbed the body and left.)

(They went back to the apartment, when they got there Selene was there on the couch asleep.)

Sara: "Ok well I guess I'm gonna go to bed. What happened to the bodies?"

Reo: "I gave them to the cops. They said they'll take it to the lab. We should get the report tomorrow."

Sara: "Oh, ok. Well goodnight big bro. See you tomorrow."

Reo: "Yeah."
