Chapter 10 *The Man In the Suit*

(Selene was chasing behind Reo and Sara right behind her. She didn't really know how Kaen got out without her hearing him, but she knew she had to get him or Reo will blame her for the whole thing. Reo got ahead some more and turned around the corner of the building before her. His core made him fast, but Sara was way behind. Selene used her wind to move Sara up some.)

Sara: "Thanks Selene."

Selene: "No problem. Now come on, we need to catch up."

(While she said this something caught her eye. It looked like a purple blur zoomed through the night, but she ignored it. She had bigger things to deal with. When she got around the corner with Sara, she saw a man in a black suit and a red tie. He had his arms behind his back, black slashes over his eyes, and black eyes with red pupils.)

Reo: "Selene, this guy's name is Kage. Apparently he's the ring leader of this whole thing."

Kage: "Well, I wouldn't say ring leader per say, but if you insist."

Selene: "What's his core?"

Reo: "I don't know. I don't think he's even used it yet."

Kage: "Well you two talk it out, while we carry on with what we're doing."

Reo: "We?"

(Just then a man landed right next to Kage. It was the shirtless man with the red and black messy spiky hair and the chained on face mask.)

Kage: "Is the doctor ok?"

(The man just nodded his head.)

Kage: "Good."

Reo: "You know this guy?"

Kage: "We're pretty much buddies. I call him The Destroyer because...well he destroys stuff."

Reo: "That's a pretty valid answer."

Kage: "He has multiple cores, but he wasn't born this way."

Selene: "Wait, are you-"

Kage: "Messing around with people's cores, no. I have people do that for me."

Reo: "What the hell?"

Selene: "Why?"

Kage: "Are we gonna talk, or are we gonna fight? Destroyer, take care of that doubled power cored chick, I got electro."

Selene: "How'd he know-?"

(Before she could finish Destroyer sprinted at Selene, but she used her wind to fly up in the air.)

Reo: "Sara, go get other heroes, we'll hold them off."

Sara: "Ok."

(Sara then ran off to go find help.)

Kage: "Ah, asking for help huh. Very unlike you Reo, have you finally discovered that you're just not quite as strong as you'd like to be."

Reo: "No, I'm really tough, but I'll have the other heroes do the stuff I don't wanna do, like scrape you off the floor."

Kage: "Funny, but I won't be the one being scraped."

(As he says this a shadow slowly comes up through the ground behind him. It's all black, except for he eyes which are bright blood red.)

Reo: "W-what the hell?"

Kage: "Yes, very weird huh? A shadow demon, what is my power you may ask. Well you'll find out soon."

(Before Reo could say anything the shadow flew right to Reo, but luckily Reo deflected so the shadow only hit the blade.)

Kage: "Very fast Reo, but how long can you keep that speed."

(Kage made an evil smirk and the shadow tried another hit, but Reo deflected that one too. The shadow kept coming in for hits and Reo kept blocking. While this was going on Selene was dealing with The Destroyer. She was in the air and shot lighting from her hand at him. It hit him in the shoulder, but he just looked at her like nothing happened.)

Selene: "How did-?"

(Before she could finish her sentence The Destroyer jumped in the air grabbing for her. Selene used her wind to push him back. The Destroyer got thrown to the ground cracking the road under him. He looked up without a scratch. A purple aura began to swarm around him.)

Selene: "What is that?"

(The Destroyer suddenly jumped right back at her. She used her wind again to push him, but it didn't faze him. He grabbed her by the leg and threw her down to the ground slamming hard. She laid there a moment as blood streamed slowly down her head. She didn't get to rest long though. She looked up and saw The Destroyer falling right above her. She used her wind to pull herself from under him. The Destroyer smashed the ground causing debris to fly up.)

Selene: "What are you?"

(Reo was still dealing with Kage. Reo had cuts all over his body from the shadow.)

Kage: "Tired yet, Reo. This has gone on for longer than I wanted."

Reo: "I'll never stop damn it!"

(Reo then charged at Kage and slashed his sword.)

Kage: "Too slow."

(The shadow went right in front of Kage blocking the swing.)

Reo: "Damn it!"

Kage: "Die you prideful scum."

(The shadow punched Reo pushing him back, making him stumble back.)

Kage: "Begone."

(The shadow picked up Reo and flew up into the air, then turned around and slammed him in the ground. Debris and pieces of the road flew up in the air. Reo laid there bleeding from his head. He coughed up some blood and it started dripping out of his mouth. Kage walked up to him and stood over him. He looked down at him with his hands behind his back.)

Kage: "I know your type. The bratty ones who feel like the strongest ones in the world, just because they have a nice core. Well wanna know my core. Shadow controlling. That means I can control shadows, and apparently shadow demons. If we ever met and you heard my core before this, you'd probably laugh. You'd probably think that you could beat me with one hand and blind-folded, but you can't even hit me with everything you got."

(Reo mumbled something under his breath. Kage leaned in closer.)

Kage: "What's that? I couldn't hear you over the sound of you dying."

Reo: "This is everything I got."

(Reo's fist went full electric mode and punched Kage in the face sending him flying in the air. The shadow grabbed Kage and set him down on the ground safely. Kage touched under is face and looked at his fingers. There was blood)

Kage: "You little-"

(Before he could finish, something flew up against the building next to Kage. He looked over to see The Destroyer picking himself up after being thrown through a building. Kage looked over and saw portals opening and people walking through them. A man with black hair and purple eyes. A girl with long light blue hair and blue eyes. Another girl with long black hair and purple streak, she had purple eyes. A man with short blond hair and glasses with blue eyes. Another man with shaggy blond hair and blue eyes. Finally a girl with medium straight black hair and green eyes.)

Kazu: "Hey Reo, your sister here said you needed some help. When did you start calling for help."

(Reo slowly started to pick himself up.)

Reo: "Shut up you number one bastard. Kill this creep."

(Selene flew over right next to Reo. He looked up at her and she looked at him. She smiled at him, but he just rolled his eyes and looked away, but he smirked a bit. Everyone started to stand next to Reo. They all looked at Kage and The Destroyer.)

Reo: "Now, ready to die you shadow core weirdo."

(The Destroyer started to get ready, but Kage stopped him.)

Kage: "Look."

(Kage pointed at his arm. The Destroyer looked down at it, it was bleeding.)

Kage: "You're done, we're done."

Reo: "What, outnumbered?"

Kage: "Very, maybe you would know if you listened in school."

Reo: "What you say?"

Kage: "Listen, I'm technically the bad guy in this situation. Bad guys don't win, at least not the first time. I wasn't planning to win this, this is all part of a bigger scheme."

Reo: "Sure, we'll have a long talk, after you're dead."

Kage: "Heh, you really are clueless."

Yui: "Can we fight?"

Dai: "Well it would be easier if he turned himself in."

Taku: "Come on, I wanna show off in front of her."

(Taku points at Sara.)

Sara: "Reo, I wanna see him show off."

Reo: "Shut up damn it, show off all you want, after I kill that bastard."

Kage: "You won't be killing anyone. Your injuries are too bad, I'm surprised you even did damage with that punch you threw. You are stronger than I thought."

Kazu: "Yeah, but there are still like, a lot of people. You don't stand a chance."

Kage: "I never said I did Mr.Portal. You might be able to catch me, if I go on foot."

(The shadow then started flying in a fast circle causing a red and black portal. The Destroyer walked up to it and jumped in.)

Kage: "I'd love to talk, but I don't. Goodbye Reo, you'll die for your sins one of these days."

(He waves and jumps in the portal, and then it disappears.)

Kazu: "What?"

Selene: "The?"

Reo: "Hell?"
