Inheritance : The Progenitor of DxD

Living my life as a normal teenager was more troublesome than I could have ever thought .Not only did something terrible happened to me one year ago, but after that incident I had to live in a town that was filled with the smell of fallen angel, devils and church slaves. And above all of those things, I had to keep a low profile so that I could keep my life intact and my bloody diet. * I don't own High School DxD or Strike the Blood Same thing with the cover. The only thing that I own are my OC and the changes that I would make. * Also this is a fan fiction aka an AU world so for the love of the God, don't start yelling that in the original that didn't happened or that it went completely different : I know and I don't care. Chapter 6 - Himeragi Yukina

"I'll listen to your excuse, Akatsuki Kojou-san."

"You see, I met this girl one night..."

I begin by reminiscing about the night when I met that weird girl and how she transformed me into what I'm today, a monster that is forced to consume human blood to survive.

In the begging, I didn't know what she did to me, since we just kissed and after that I felt her biting my neck, before everything went black. After that, I talked about how much I had to struggle with my new life and what my family had to do to keep me from dying a slow and painful death, or worse, turning into a monster, and in the end I've described everything that happen between me and that drunken guy and why I end up killing the poor man.

I saw a little shift in the girl's demeanor when she learned the reason for that guy's death and his transformation into a mindless thrall, but she quickly regained her composure when she realized I was looking at her waiting for her to tell me her verdict.

"Now that you know the truth about that incident, would you please tell me what you intend to do now with me, after I've have explained myself?"

She was silent for a few seconds before letting out a sigh and looked me in the eyes.

"I'll stop attacking you since you're not completely guilty .While it's true that you have killed a person and transformed him into a monster, I can't just end your life for doing something when you didn't even know what was happening with you, but as a member of the Church, I still have the divine obligation to ensure that the citizens of this town are secure from any type of harm that someone like you could inflict on them. Don't you even think that you will be left alone, I'll remain here and I will continue to observe you, Akatsuki Kojou."

I could only bitterly smile at her remark, even though I managed to prove that those accusations weren't what the church thought, that doesn't mean that I was still in the clear. These accusations will continue to remain a possible concern for the citizens of this town.

Now, I may be lazy and, without a doubt, someone who could simply show them my middle finger and then disappear from the picture for a few years, but how will I face my parents in the afterlife for doing such a thing? I may be seen as someone that doesn't care about the lives of those humans, but I'm a cold-blooded killer, I just want to be left alone ,yet that doesn't mean that I'm scared of getting my hands dirty. That night made me realized that ever since that fateful night when I've met Avrora, I have become something completely different from a human and that no matter how much I try to think about it, the fact I will have to drink blood to live didn't make me sick is the first sign that I may slowly learn to ignore the human life, but at the same time I couldn't become a creature that the only purpose in life was to bathe in blood.

Not only would it make me the target of the Vatican, but at the same I don't want to burden my aunt any more than I already do with all of my troubles.

My thoughts were disturbed when I felt the girl that I've brought home moving towards the edge of the bed. I looked at her and saw how the girl was about to get up and try to retrieve her spear. While I could just let her be, I didn't want to transform this apartment into a battle ground so I've decided to let get her weapon, but not before I tell her to behave if she wants to eat some dinner. Even though it won't make her like me, but it will hopefully improve her opinion of me.

"Say...now that I think about it, I'm not sure what your name is."

"My name is Himeragi Yukina. What do you want from me, Akatsuki Kojou-senpai?"

"First things first, would please lower your spear. Secondly, I was wondering if you wanted to eat before you depart. I made some food for my aunt and I, but knowing her, she won't be coming home anytime soon, so I thought you might enjoy some handmade dinner."

A rather loud sound came from her stomach just as I asked her. Yukina gave me an odd look before blushing for no apparent reason. What's the matter with this girl? She is too naïve for her own good but she tried to appear professional one moment, and then she was acting like a middle school girl...oh wait, she is one.

Yukina didn't say anything, and I was pretty sure she'd try to gut me if I even mentioned this incident to her or anyone to be fair, so I dragged the hungry girl to the kitchen, where I had already prepared an easy fish dish for us to eat.

I told her to take a seat and asked if she wanted juice or water. She initially refused my offer, but after I continue to pester her with the same question over and over again, as a result of her stubbornness, she finally accepted my offer and asked for a glass of juice. After I poured her some juice, I tried to pour myself a little bit of blood in one of the cups, when I felt a sharp thing near my neck.

"Akatsuki Kojou what do you think you are doing?"

"Pouring myself a little bit of blood?"

"Why are you drinking blood right now? I should have known that you weren't a good person! Tell me did you put poison in my food?!"

"I presume you know that a vampire has to drink blood from time to time, right? And what nonsense is that? How could I poison your food when you were with me the whole time, and even if I poised it you would have been already out, use your head for God's sake girl."

"Of course, I know, but that still doesn't explain why you are drinking blood right now."

"While I'm a vampire, I didn't drink more than half a glass of blood in one goes. Since I don't know what will happen if I somehow end drunk on the blood and, I'm scared of what I may do if I lose my sanity, again…"

Hearing my words, Yukina lowered her weapon, before returning back to her seat.

Now, whatever she believes me or not it's another problem, but once again, Yukina decided to give me the benefit of doubt which I'm more than thankful for.

We didn't talk at all while we eating, but on contrary to what most people will believe, it didn't make the whole atmosphere awkward and while I would have liked to know my watch dog a little bit more, I thought that it will be smart to get to know her in time.

When we both finished our dinner, Yukina surprised me by thanking me for the food and complimenting me for being a decent chef. After that, she told me that she would leave, but not before she threatens me that if I'm going to do something bad she would end me.

As was she approached the door, I've realized that if she leaves, then how would she watch me? And if she was tasked to observe me ,then she would have to live somewhere close enough so that she could see what I'm doing or to quickly follow me if I leave to go somewhere. Now, I probably should have just let her leave, but at the same time, if what she told me was true, then maybe it would be a dumb decision to get on the bad side of the Church.

Before she could open the door, I called her, which thankfully stopped her.

"Himeragi-san, I know that it isn't my place to ask, but do you have a place to stay?"

She blushed and turned towards the door, ready to leave in a hurry. As much as I would have liked to let her leave, I knew that I would not be able to forgive myself if something happened to her due to me being her mission and for the nth time, my training made me regret talking once again.

"Why don't you stay here for the night, of course, we will have to talk to my aunt and explain to her why there's a middle school girl here and why I offered to let you sleep here, but I'm sure that she wouldn't send you away after we properly explain our situation, so what do you say ?"

Yukina stood frozen for a few seconds before she shyly nodded at me, not wanting to admit that she didn't have a place to sleep and that her belongings would take a day or two arrived from Italy.

Until my aunt returns, Yukina could stay in the living room, while I'll go to my room and finish my homework. Not only a day and the teacher's already killing us with some boring homework, not that I won't finish it, as I would rather hear the boring lessons than my aunt lecture about how important learning and doing my homework is for my future.

The first half an hour after I've invited Yukina to remain, I constantly sense a pair of eyes glaring at me, and even though it didn't really bother me that much, it still seemed weird to know who the person was. So after a few more minutes, I've decided to end this whole spying charade and call her.

"Himeragi-san, if you want, you could come inside my room and stay there if you really want to observe me. I don't want to sound rude, but it's kind of unsettling knowing who's spying on me in such a manner, so I would rather know that you are behind me rather than on the hallway looking through the opened door."

"Very well, Akatsuki Kojou. I'll observe you from your room."

"By the way, are you perhaps attending the same school as me?"

"Of course, I am going to attend the same school as my target. Even though I was taught the basics of every year until university, my superior suggested that I should attend the same school as you, as it will make my job easier."

"Well, it's nice to see that your superior want what's best for you."

"Why do think she wanted what's best for me? She just gave me some tips on how to easily observe my target."

"She wouldn't have told you to attend a school as a normal student if they weren't thinking about your future, maybe she wanted to let experience how a normal girl lives her school years, or maybe it was just the fact that it would be way easier to stay at a safe distance and observe rather than somehow approaching me in another strange way like earlier. Another thing that suggests what I've just said, is that you're superior didn't forbid you from making friends and experiencing a normal life. "

Yukina stood silent after she heard what I've just said, but then she smiled at me.

"I guess you are right, Kojou-senpai. Griselda-san does indeed care about all of us, even though she doesn't show it."

We continue to talk every now and then and before we knew it, the door of the apartment was opened and both of us were surprised to hear the voice of my aunt.

"Kojou-kun, I'm home!"

She didn't wait for me to respond and she just barged into my room, but as soon as she saw me on the chair and Yukina on the bed reading one of my novels, she looked at me as if I was some sort of kidnapper.

"Who's the girl, Kojou-kun?"

"Oh, well you see Chisato-nee, Himeragi-san doesn't have a place to stay so I thought that maybe she could stay with us for a few days before her mother manages to get her an apartment to live."

"Kojou-kun, you are going to be the death of me,you know? Himeragi, right? I don't know what your relationship with my nephew is, he may be an idiot that has a big heart and does things that could put him in danger, but please take care of him."

Both, I and Yukina looked at each other and we blushed at the same time. While I have to admit that she was really beautiful and quite cute, neither one of us have yet to develop any kind of romantic feelings for each other, yet my aunt's teasing still made us embarrassed.

But as soon as she saw us embarrassed faces, the usually teasing aunt of mine disappear and in her place appeared someone else, or at least that's what I believe, since no matter how much I try to understand I couldn't recognize this side of my aunt.

"Kojou, you stay away from this discussion, as for you girl, tell me, why's a shaman doing in my house and especially near my dear nephew? Did that M send you or maybe it was Griselda?"

For the first time since I've met Himeragi, I saw her shivering in fear, not even when we fought or when she found herself caught did she react in such a way and as much as I would like to know how does my aunt known about Yukina's real identity, I couldn't let her pressure the poor girl like that.

I walked in front of my aunt and blocked her from doing whatever she was trying to do to Yukina. She managed to regain control over her body, but she was still shaking behind me, hiding from my aunt.

Looking at my aunt, I could see that she was concerned about me, but at the same time, she was both angry and disappoint in me for practically bringing the enemy home.

"Give me a good reason or I swear to her God that I'll throw her out."

"Chisato-nee, I don't know how you knew Yukina's real identity, but she's just doing her job and as much as it's annoying to me, I can't hate her for doing her job. She also promised to teach me how to control myself, right Himeragi-san?"

Yukina look at me for a second before she nodded at my aunt.

My aunt let out a long sigh before she turned around giving me a VIP class view of her butt. No matter how I try to deny it, I can't deny the fact that I'm attracted by my aunt.

After my aunt left the room, I turned my gaze towards Yukina and I saw the girl trying to calm down after she saw her own death, or at least that's what I presume happened.

I approached her and sat close to her.

"Are you feeling ok?"

Yukina just looked at me as if I grow another head, but she still managed to mutter a soft yes.

Seeing that she was still a little bit scared after what happened, I've deiced to put my mother's teaching in practice and try to calm the girl a little, because, one of the reasons which made her so scared is me.

I gently embraced the girl and before I knew it, Yukina was sobbing in my embrace.

Meanwhile, my aunt was on her phone. As soon as she found whoever she searched for, she dialed that number.

Not even a few seconds later, someone responded.

"What can I do for you, mam?"

"Why's there one of your little agents in my house? And more importantly near my nephew!"

"Mam, please calm down. We are sorry for not informing you about this, but as you may already know, your nephew's situation is quite complicated and the higher-ups have decided to send someone to observe him, just in case."

Chisato didn't even bother to respond to whatever the other party told her over the phone as she just close her phone and poured herself some wine that she had just bought.
