Chapter 4 Part 3

Codarius went to the nearest water station. There were buckets at the water stations that kids used to mess around with and play with. Codarius got two buckets of water, and went to the fire. Everyone gasped and looked at Codarius with shock, as he threw the water bucket straight into the fire. The water completely extinguished the moment of impact, including the bucket. In Codarius' eyes were flames as great as the flame burning the poor person to death.

The guards then ran towards Codarius, and then tackled him down. However, the moment they attacked Codarius, Lux withdrew his Rapier, and then immediately knocked the guards away from Codarius. It all happened in a flash of a second, and Codarius was surprised. Rick then began running to the burning fire, and then jumped straight into it. Codarius and Lux saw that, and screamed, "What are you doing?!" Rick jumped straight into the fire, and upon impact of landing, the fire seemed to have extinguished where he stood.

Lux questioned, 'How the hell is he not getting burnt to death, what is going on?' But Lux didn't have much time to think, as the rest of the guards were now attacking Lux and Codarius. Codarius also withdrew his sword, attempting to maintain balance. A guard attacked Codarius, and Codarius managed to block the attack with his sword. However, the moment he blocked the attack, he fell straight on his back, he then saw the guard attempting to attack Codarius as he was on the floor, however, Lux threw the small knife that Codarius had bought for Lux, and it hit the sword that was about to slice Codarius in half.

Before Codarius knew it, Lux was next to the guard that was attacking Codarius with the small knife, and stabbed the guard. Codarius stood back up, and then told the remaining crowd that was just limply standing there watching the fight, "You dumbasses, get the hell out of here!" Everyone shrieked and ran away. Codarius looked, and realized that most of the guards were single handedly taken out by Lux, and Rick was on the podium untying the poor demi-human from the stake.

He really didn't understand how Rick wasn't burning to death, but it was definitely working. But then, the mage flew up, and casted a spell that seemed to be launching a compact ball of fire. Lux immediately yelled, "Stay down Codarius!" and immediately flew to the trajectory of the attack, and then sliced it with his rapier. Codarius stood down, and understood why. The moment of impact with the ball of fire, it exploded, causing the entire area to be filled with shockwaves that destroyed everything in its path.
