Chapter 10: A doctor/ Enlisting in the military

Holden said to Anik after saying goodbye by to his friends.

"Sure, Holden, so who leads the camp."

"The leader is general Liam. Well, he is the most capable."

Holden said to Anik.

After reaching the medical center, one of the doctor who looked like a 24-year-old woman.

"Hello what is your problem sir."

The doctor said to Anik.

"I am feeling a little pain in my right hand. Can you if it has any implication I have to worry about."

Anik said to the doctor and the doctor asking what caused the injury while looking at the hand.

"I was in a fight and the other guy hit my had with the metal rod."

Anik said to the doctor.

"Did you kill them or runway?"

The doctor asked him while looking serious.

"I killed him. I didn't have any choose, it was him or me."

Anik said to the doctor, also looking serious.

"Well it's ok to defend yourself."

The doctor said to Anik while giving him some medicine and bandaging his right hand and telling him to rest some few days, and it will be ok.

"Thank you, doctor, may I have a chance to know your name?"

Anik asked the doctor after thanking her.

"My name is Sophie, and what is yours?"

Sophia said to Anik amusingly.

"Anik, Dr. Sophia"

Anik said to her. After he left the area with Holden.

"Man you talk to her so casually. I was sweating buckets earlier."

Holden said to Anik while taking him to his assigned room.

"Is she important and related to someone important, well, she is important because of her profession?"

Anik asked him curiously.

"She's the only daughter of the general, Liam. So be careful around her and try not to find problems with her."

Holden said to Anik as well as talking to the guard patrolling the outside of the rooms.

After taking Anik to his assigned room, Holden also left Anik in his room and said to him to collect his belongings in the military side of the camp and also told him the timetable of the ration distribution.

"Thanks Holden "

Anik said to Holden, and Holden laughingly said it's his duty while saluting.

"Sure Why not."

Anik nodded to him and also laughed.

After Holden left, Anik started to think about the future.

[Anik,do you plan to live here?]

Aafia asked to Anik

'Well, yeah, I will until I get the upgrade and the gear I want. After that, I will think about it later. I still have a month to think about, plus I have to be in the scavenging team to get other useful.

I can't get in here and I have to first to the mutated zombies to get their essence. Afterward, I can make it infinite to get infinite essence. What is the essence state?'

Anik said to Aafia while asking about essence.

[The essence will be found in the head, but you can only take 20 essences.]

"Why, do they have some kind of side effects?"

Anik asked Aafia.

[Well, you can only take 20 because thereafter, it will lose its effect on. But you can use it as a healing agent.Don't worry, stronger than mutated creatures will also appear to make you more stronger through essence.]

'What!!stronger than that of mutated zombies. Goddammit! Now there is even a bigger danger. I have to be stronger fast.

Now I have to find how to get into the scavenging team and be familiar with guns and dangers to be ready for anything.'

Anik said to himself.

Subsequently ,he first checked his room, which was a class and there was no furniture beside bed mattresses and some blankets.

Following that, he lay on the bed mattress and started to think about the uncertainty of the future. He didn't think he would be in a post zombie apocalyptic world. He has to find out what the higher being want and why choose him.

[You don't think you were chosen by luck, do you?]

'Like hell, I believe that.'

Anik said to Aafia.

'Well, I am the only one who is staying in this room for a while then, until there are more survivors. Let's rest for a while, and then I will go outside the room for knowing how to get in scavenging team.'

Anik said to himself.

TIME:-02:34PM/CAMP

Anik after taking a power nap, gets up from the mattress and starts walking outside.

He first went to the military looking like tent and asked a soldier standing there where can he get his stuff back? The soldier told him to go beside the tent, where he will find a soldier.

There he had given his name, age, talent, etc. for getting his stuff back.

After following the soldier's direction, he found the other soldier, and he first told him his name, age, and he also said he knows how to shoot a handgun.

Next, the soldier wrote down Anik's information and gave him his bag and water bottle.

"No weapon for ordinary people, huh!!"

Anik said to the soldier, and the soldier also nodded indifferently.

After having his not so much stuff, he first put his bag and water bottle in his room.Then,he went to the area where there was a line of men only. The soldiers were checking them and making them run around in the camp.

Some were falling down, some were nearly holding on. Anik asked a near soldier want was happening there. The soldier said that they were trying to get selected to be a soldier like them and the more fit and in fighting they are the more chances they have in getting in, following that, the soldier left.

Next, Anik went to the training group and asked a soldier station there told him to go walk to the 45 years looking man there whose name is Michael and is a colonel.

Following that, he first met the colonel and told him to let him join in the selection process. The colonel asked him why.

"I want to survive in this world, and a normal citizen will not survive for long in this world."

Anik said to the colonel. The colonel gave a closer look at Anik and wrote his name and his room number on the selection paper and said Anik to run until he couldn't run anymore and if he .....
