CHAPTER 3: ROOMMATES

Alicia and Clara were so lost in admiring the place that they didn't even realize their mum was talking to them until she tapped them. Mrs Melissa was quite surprised at how Alicia was behaving right now,she could accept Clara's behavior because she hadn't been here before but then Alicia had been here a couple of times for her admission process and clearance stuff, Mrs Melissa later took it to heart that perhaps it was because she hadn't come this far into the school.

"Ok honey I think it's time for you to check in before this place gets crowded" Mrs Melissa said as she looked at the crowd ahead of them.

Alicia swallowed hard before nodding her head vigorously in excitement.

"I'll come with you" Clara offered and Alicia didn't hesitate to agree since she felt really nervous

Alicia picked up her bag containing her documents before the two girls headed inside the building. Mrs Melissa then took her seat in the car as she and the driver engaged in a conversation.

Inside,due to the small crowd, Alicia had to wait for about 30 minutes before it reached her turn with Clara who although sitted afar having her eyes on her younger sister like CCTV cameras. As soon as she was done,her thumb prints were taken before she was finally given her hostel room number and some other stuffs.

The two sisters finally headed out of the place,and it seemed their Mom was right,the crowd outside had actually thripled in less than 30 minutes and now there was a huge line outside. Alicia and Clara finally Walked over to their mom after asking for the location of Hostel Hall 3 girls and it seemed they still had to go further.

They all got back into the cab and as they drove further,they followed the descriptions and also asked questions until they finally arrived at the beautiful gates of Hostel Hall 3 girls,a prestigious 8 storey with fancy railings and a terrace.

After admiring the place,they soon started to offload Alicia's things after being told cars weren't allowed beyond that gate level. Alicia watched as they took her things out of the car. In no time,they were done and Alicia knew it was time to say goodbye,her eyes welled up as the realization dawned on her that her mom or sisters weren't going to be here with her,she was gonna be by herself.

Alicia teared up as she crashed into her mother's arms,she'd always been a mummy's girl till date whose do's and don't were set up by her and apart from the market,church and school Alicia had been nowhere else so she found it hard to believe that her mom wasn't going to be here with her.

They hugged for a while before Mrs Melissa gave her daughter a few tips and a little words of wisdom. After that she and Clara hugged and talked a little before they finally said their temporary good byes .

Alicia stood outside,her tears flowing non stop as she watched her family get into the car and zoom of heading back to the main gate. She stood there for a while before she cleaned her eyes and picked up her hand bag,she stood looking at the three big luggages on the floor wondering how she was gonna carry them all at once, she was still on that when a young security man dressed on uniform approached her.

"Good day to you miss" he beamed obviously taken aback by Alicia's eyes and beauty

"G-good day to you too sir" Alicia replied wondering where he came out from

"What's your room number if I may ask"

"Uhmmmm". Alicia glanced at the card in her hand. " Room number 64 "

"That would be on the third floor miss,shall we" he offered taking the two biggest luggages and rolling them before leading the way inside the huge gates

"Oh,t-thank you sir" she expressed her gratitude

"No need for that miss, that's what I'm being paid for" he replied cheerfully. Alicia only smiled and trailed behind him as they climbed the stairs

As they walked Alicia began to admire the place, looking at other students who were also going up.

In no time, Alicia found herself on the third floor standing in front of room No 64

"Okay this is where you're headed" the young man said as he placed her bags down "all you have to do is go inside and meet your roommates". It appeared he was not allowed to go into the rooms.

Alicia swallowed as she looked around the lit hallway and the room doors opposite with Few students in some of them arranging their stuffs,the hallway wasn't that busy yet and looking around, Alicia could easily tell that each floor contained about 25 rooms because she'd seen a sign on the very first floor which said room 1-25 and the second 25- 50. Alicia was still lost staring around forgetting that the security man was still standing there until he cleared his throat which earned him a look from Alicia.

The man wasn't going to lie to himself,he was smitten and deeply attracted to Alicia's beauty but then knowing the rules of his job and the fact that he was old enough to be her elder most brother,he could only bury his stupid awakening feelings.

" Ok then miss...."

"Alicia" she replied helping him out

"Ok Miss Alicia,you have a nice day"

" Yeah you too Mr, and thanks once again"

"You're welcome" he replied before he finally turned around to go back to his duty post 'what a well mannered girl ' he thought

Alicia stood in front of the door thinking about wether to knock or not when the door suddenly opened causing her head to whip up and meet with that of a tall slender girl with blonde hair.

As soon as their eyes met,the girls face and eyes shone with something indescribable

"H-hi" the girl said looking enthusiastic. " Are you the fresher for this room

"Y-yeah" Alicia meekly replied glancing at her card number again to make sure

"Oh wow" the girl exclaimed "come on in then" she ushered as she quickly handled two of Alicia's bags and rolled them in while Alicia took the last one before she stepped in.
