CHAPTER 17: HIDDEN TRUTH

Back in the hostel

Alicia was still shivering from the fear as she narrated what had happened to Tammy and Sophie

" ohhhh" they both exclaimed

"You should never do such a thing baby girl" Tammy adviced as she held onto Alicia's shoulders like an elder sister would do " you should have just let go of the pain okay it wasn't that important anyways don't you know that dark places are dangerous for any girl especially in Montgomery"

"Yeah" Sophie chipped in equally worried as well " you should know that you are in the university and not your high school wherein the culprit would be caught immediately, what if that person had actually gotten a hold of you huh"

"I I didn't know" Alicia said as her body shivered even more at the thoy of those hands getting her " and I also thought because of the security cameras nearby I'll be fine"

"You don't expect security cameras to be at every corner of the school,it's such a huge school Alicia we have over 80,000 students schooling here and let's say perhaps the camera caught the scene but it might not have been able to catch the culprit"

"we know you must have heard Montgomery is a good well-cultured school, well yeah it is but you just don't expect all students of over 80,000 to be good,of course they are bad boys and girls in campus but the authorities are doing your best in eradicating them from the school and that's why the moment they are caught they are expelled , no bargains but then for the time being you should try to protect yourself and the number one rule to survive in Montgomery as a girl is to avoid dark places, everyone knows that" Sophie said.

"And oh I'll advise you get yourself a pepper spray it's a lucky thing for you that you remembered you had teeth today hahaha," she laughed trying to lift the mood "tomorrow might not be the same so just try to get armed to be ready at times okay " Tammy said and gladly Alicia shoulders stopped trembling a bit.

All the while, Tammy was fighting strongly against the urge to spill out who she had seen at the hallway and the guys whom Alicia had burmped into but for some reasons best known to her she decided to stay quiet.

Tammy and Sophie in their ways tried to cheer Alicia up but still she wasn't feeling herself until Tammy told her that it might have just been a prank by someone to scare her and that the person actually meant no harm and since Alicia was quite the gullible type she bought the story and she calmed down a little.

Alicia was although feeling quite hungry but her appetite was lost so she just took out an energy drink from her provision box and drank it after which she decided to sleep for a while, perhaps maybe by the time she woke up she'll be all right, she looked at the time which was few minutes to 11, she opened her bedside window wide as the fan right above her didn't seem to be doing anything even though it was quite high.

As soon as Alicia lay on her bed she immediately dozed off but Tammy and Sophie remained in the room as the duo continually glanced at themselves and then back at Alicia in fear, they couldn't believe that they were already after her only on the second day of her resumption.

Montgomery University was famed to be one of the best schools in the country because of its size, its lecturers and great philanthropist who had once schooled there,it was claimed to be a good school void of any bad activities but then in real life, the school authorities had purposely covered up and hidden so many dirty things from the public such that it would only be if you attended the school that you would know what was going on in there.

The school was a big and famous one but the hidden truth about it was that it was actually the survivor of the fittest, most good girls who came into Montgomery University hardly remained good in their second year,they were either raped,forced to become lesbians or forced to have multiple sex partners or to join cultism or even become provisions thieves.

And also,the level in which girls were raped was something to be looked at even though it had drastically reduced because of the new heads .

These things were usually associated with every University but Montgomery's own seemed to be over the top because of its former negligent authorities who were only money-minded and did nothing to curb the growing illegal activities happening on campus despite being written to several times by several victims, having no choice some of the good students had to go on a campaign which finally reached the ears of the owner of Montgomery itself and to avoid the news leaking out,immediate actions were taken to keep the good name of the school, the heads were all removed and replaced and that was over a year and seven months ago and since then there had been visible changes in the School.

And although these bad things still happened but they were now at a minimal rate because the moment any student was found doing such activities prohibited by the school ,they were immediately expelled without any pardon.

The new authorities were no nonsense and strict and ever since the new heads were assigned, most of them started to stay low while performing their activities but at times cult clashes happened but then they were always advised to stay in doors whenever they heard the sounds of guns outside their hostels either in the day or at night.

By the time Alicia was deeply asleep that was when Tammy left the room leaving Sophie as she headed upstairs to the utility room with some noodles and eggs to make breakfast for the both of them.
