In the Multiverse with an Epic System

This is a fanfic where the MC will go into movies, books, anime, and manga that I like and think are cool. I don't really have a concrete plan right now, but the MC will just be going to other worlds and explore while getting more powerful. No Harem btw. First World: Percy Jackson

Figuring out my Powers

Even though I planned to enjoy my time as a normal human for a while before starting my adventure by heading to Camp Half-Blood I still needed to figure out a few things. Most importantly my powers that came from Hades being my father. I knew what powers Nico and Hazel possessed in the books, but I wasn't sure if I would get one power set or the other. From what I could tell Hades/Pluto gave different powers to his children depending on his form when he impregnated a woman.

My best guess is that I would probably just get the Hades set of powers like Nico, but it was also possible that I would get both due to me being from outside this world. I ran my hand through my pitch-black hair that matched my dark eyes. My hair came from my father, Hades I guessed because other than that I looked like a complete replica of my mother.

I messed with my hair as I thought about my powers. Then I remembered the simple solution to figuring out my powers that I had been missing, the system. I had read enough to know what to do next as I said "Status," quietly to myself. As I watched a screen popped up in front of my eyes.

[Name: Nito

Age: 4

Current World: Percy Jackson

Skills: (Grandmaster Rank): Merge, Multiuniversal Travel

(Master Rank): None

(Advanced Rank): None

(Intermediate Rank): None

(Beginner Rank): Hades Powers, Pluto Powers

Items: None

Missions: Summer Camp]

"Well that's handy," I said to myself as I looked through my status window. The status window itself is pretty bare-bones, but I prefer it that way. There were no stats like in a video game, but I guessed that it might be difficult to quantify things like luck and wisdom as numerical values. Looking at my skills was much more interesting though.

It was obvious that each rank-up would boost the power of my skills, but I wondered if there are any special requirements to rank them up or if it's just through practice. I also noticed that I indeed did have powers from both of my father's aspects. Looking at them I felt like this was a perfect time to test my skill [Merge] on them. I wasn't quite sure what to do to activate the skill, but I just imagined two pistons pushing the two skills together in my mind and watched as the two formed into one. Looking back to my status screen I quickly saw the results of [Merge].

[(Beginner Rank): Hades Powers, Pluto Powers] had turned into [(Beginner Rank): Lord of the Underworld]. I also felt like each skill had gotten a slight boost in power, but I wasn't sure due to never testing them out before. I knew that with this skill I could use necromancy, manipulate bones, shadow travel, summon precious metals from the earth, manipulate dirt and rock to form tunnels, as well as never being able to get lost underground and sensing where things like tunnels are. Overall it is a pretty good set of skills to have so early on, but I would need to rank up the skill for it to be more useful.

It was at this moment I recognized the most powerful feature of my system. If I can rank up skills just from using them, then merging skills together means that with less practice I can rank up more abilities. For example: Before I would have had to train with both Pluto's and Hades's powers to rank them both up, but now even if I only use the Hades side of the power I am also working to rank up the Pluto side at the same time because they are the same skill after the merging.

With that in mind, I started to get to work leveling up my skill. I am 4 years old now, which gives me around 8 years till the start of the story. I hope that that's enough time to get the skill up to (Master Rank) at least. I started by looking at the shadow in the corner of the room. I tried to feel a connection with the shadow while I started to walk toward it. I imagined the shadow as a pitch-black door that could take me to any other black door. As I stepped into the shadow I pictured opening the door and seeing my room on the other side.

The next moment I was in a shadowed corner of my room, but the next second I fell to the ground gasping for air. Traveling through the shadow had been like getting a bucket of ice-cold water dumped on my head. It was shocking more than anything, but I could also feel some of the heat drained from my body as well as a majority of my strength. I didn't have much time to think before I collapsed into unconsciousness, though I did manage to stumble to my bed.

The next morning I woke up, still half collapsed on my bed and half on the floor. I managed to stumble to the bathroom where I saw my mom. I said good morning to her before heading downstairs to get some breakfast. As it turns out shadow travel also makes me very hungry on top of the other side effects. I assumed that the side effects would lessen as the skill ranked up, but for now, they are still pretty brutal.

After eating a full breakfast I decided to go outside to see if I could pull any precious metals from the ground. I concentrated on the earth around the house as I walked outside. Since [Lord of the Underworld] is on (Beginner Rank) I couldn't send my senses too deep yet, but despite that, I was still able to feel something. As I used my power to raise it up out of the ground I could feel myself getting drained, but in the end, I was able to pull it up out of the ground.

I stood there silently looking at the broken lead pipe in my hands. "At least it's a start" I said to myself as I sighed.
