Mr. Negative, possessed by the symbiote, was completely unable to resist Russell. He could only watch helplessly as Russell in his Serum form grabbed his neck and lifted him off the ground.
After lifting Mr. Negative, Russell released the symbiote possession on him and returned control of his body to Mr. Negative.
However, before Mr. Negative could feel relieved, he sensed an indescribable force.
The Negative energy within him rapidly dissipated under the suppression of this inexplicable power.
Upon realizing this, Mr. Negative's face turned to one of horror.
He started struggling desperately, attempting to free himself from Russell's grip.
But unfortunately, his struggles were entirely futile in the face of such a massive power difference.
At first, he resisted fiercely.
However, before long, his complexion turned pale.
It's gone!
His prideful superpower had vanished!
Although he didn't know how Russell had accomplished this, he knew that without his superpower, he would lose everything he currently possessed.
Martin Li, Mr. Negative, was originally a low-level member of the smuggling organization. If it weren't for the accident during that smuggling operation, he would still be an inconsequential individual.
While his superpower had emerged after the accident, there was no denying that if the smuggling operation had gone smoothly, he wouldn't have been captured by Hammerhead's Maggia, let alone become a test subject for those inhumane drug experiments.
Russell paid no attention to the lifeless Martin Li.
Having used the extraordinary healing ability of Serum to cure Martin Li's superpower and revert him to a regular person, Russell wasted no time. He twisted his right hand lightly.
Crack!
A crisp bone-breaking sound echoed.
The renowned Mr. Negative, Martin Li, was killed just like that.
He dared to kill even superheroes, let alone supervillains. He certainly didn't carry any psychological burden.
Healing and killing were two different matters.
Healing Martin Li was to test the extraordinary healing ability of Serum.
As for killing him, there were several reasons for that.
First, it was to maintain secrecy and prevent other symbiotic entities from evolving due to Negative energy.
Although true Venom hadn't appeared yet and entities like Carnage hadn't emerged either, who knew when such symbiotic entities might emerge?
Perhaps they didn't know that Martin Li's Negative energy could aid symbiote mutations, but keeping him alive was still a potential hazard.
For safety's sake, it was better to eliminate him.
Of course, besides Martin Li's Negative energy, there was another way to have Venom evolve into Serum, such as Alchemax Corporation's development of the Synthetic Serum 2.0.
But there was no need to worry about that. Synthetic Serum 2.0 was nowhere to be seen.
To be precise, whether Alchemax Corporation would develop Synthetic Serum 2.0 was still a question.
Second, killing Martin Li could be considered protecting the public.
Martin Li, Mr. Negative, had a public identity as a philanthropist who built the FEAST homeless shelter. But ultimately, this was just a means he used to whitewash himself.
Russell wasn't going to view him as a good person just because he built a homeless shelter.
If that qualified as being a good person, then Kingpin was even more of one than he was.
After all, Kingpin spent much more money on charity work each year.
Once Russell was certain Martin Li was truly dead, he released his right hand, letting the body fall onto the cold floor.
Glancing at the lifeless Martin Li, who had once donned a well-tailored suit, Russell turned toward the direction of a water tank and said slowly, "Since you're here, there's no need to hide, right?"
When he had twisted Martin Li's neck, he sensed an uninvited guest arriving on the rooftop.
Although the person's movements were light, they didn't escape his ears.
After he spoke, a figure emerged from behind the large water tank—a superhero familiar to the people of New York.
To be precise, a female superhero.
Her form-fitting black and white uniform perfectly outlined her well-defined curves.
With the black upper part and white lower part, the tight-fitting uniform not only provided a strong visual contrast but also made her long, straight legs particularly striking.
Although the uniform was form-fitting, unlike other heroes' skintight suits, it had a hood.
Spider-Gwen!
At the first glimpse of this figure, Russell recognized her identity.
Of course, in the eyes of New York citizens and the media, she was Spider-Woman, not Spider-Gwen.
Because of his long and flexible tongue, when he assessed Gwen, his tongue unconsciously licked his lips.
Seeing Russell, a creature resembling a monster, staring intently at her, Gwen beneath the uniform slightly furrowed her eyebrows.
She didn't know Russell, but she disliked the look in his eyes as he assessed her.
As a superhero who had been active for four years, she was no longer the naive high school girl she used to be.
Although Russell's current appearance wasn't that of a regular human, Gwen sensed the true intention in his eyes.
It was an unhealthy look!
When striking down criminals or swiftly navigating between tall buildings using her webbing, she had seen this kind of look in the eyes of many men.
It was different from a normal gaze.
When men looked at her with that kind of gaze, they usually focused on certain key areas.
Now, just like those men, Russell was examining certain key areas of her body with an unhealthy gaze.
Moreover, when Russell looked at her this way, her spider-sense went off like an alarm clock.
Emerging from behind the water tank, Gwen didn't speak. She looked down at Russell from a higher vantage point.
Russell also remained silent at this moment, silently appreciating Gwen's perfect curves.
Although Gwen wasn't short, she was slightly shorter than Diana. She seemed to be around 5 feet 7 inches tall.
Apart from being shorter than Diana, she didn't possess Diana's excellent figure.
Whether in terms of bust, curves, or leg length, she fell a bit short compared to Diana.
Of course, considering the age difference between her and Diana, this was normal.
Diana had already undergone full development, and there wouldn't be a second opportunity for growth.
However, Gwen was different. As someone who hadn't yet graduated from college, she obviously still had room for improvement.
The extent to which she could improve, though, was hard to say.
After several minutes of staring at each other, Russell finally broke the silence.
"What's your name?"
Gwen didn't inquire why he had killed Mr. Negative; instead, she asked for Russell's name directly.
"Serum!"
Without hesitation, Russell came up with a new alias for himself.
Although Gwen currently appeared friendly, he wasn't foolish enough to reveal his true name to her.
As for whether Gwen might discover his true identity in the future, that was a concern for later.
Upon hearing his reply, Gwen glanced at Mr. Negative's lifeless body and said once again, "You better deal with his body."
Gwen knew who Mr. Negative was.
Although she rarely beats up criminals like that, she wasn't the type of superhero who only thought in terms of political correctness.
If a situation arose where a criminal died in front of her, especially a supervillain like Mr. Negative, she wouldn't entertain thoughts of seeking justice for him.
