Russell's Gratitude and Repayment

Upon hearing Russell's words, a faint blush appeared on Kara's delicate and fair face.

Although they had done many things in the past month that couples typically do, Kara was still a young girl with little romantic experience. 

After a shy silence of a few seconds, Kara finally asked Russell, "Is there something wrong?"

"No, there's no problem at all," Russell replied helplessly.

Seeing his expression, Kara immediately understood.

"Are you saying that your superpowers can't activate the new abilities?"

"It's not that they can't activate; they haven't activated," Russell corrected.

"So, what do you plan to do now?"

In the past, Kara might not have cared whether Russell could gain Kryptonian powers like hers. But now, she cared deeply.

Ever since Russell had seen through her innermost thoughts, her view and attitude toward him had changed completely.

Although she used to want to prove that she was just as charming as Diana, that was all in the past now.

Her current perspective was that if Russell could awaken the same Kryptonian powers as her, then they would both be Kryptonians. If everyone was a Kryptonian, there would be no such thing as racial differences.

"Well..." Russell suddenly felt a bit awkward to continue.

"What's wrong with you today? Why are you acting so indecisive, like a woman?" Kara's eyebrows furrowed as she scrutinized Russell with her eyes.

She didn't know what Russell was thinking, but she was certain that he was not the kind of person who would be embarrassed like this. If he looked embarrassed, there must be something wrong.

"Regarding gaining Kryptonian powers, I also attach great importance to it."

"But if awakening them is impossible, I can't do anything about it. After all, this matter is beyond my control."

"To address this issue and ensure that I can obtain Kryptonian powers, I've thought of two methods."

Russell took a deep breath and continued slowly.

"What are the two methods?" Kara asked directly.

"The first is that we don't need to continue our time-limited relationship, and I will obtain your Kryptonian powers through another means."

Russell then raised his right hand, and a few white tendrils emerged.

"It's similar to when I healed your injuries earlier. I can use Serum's ability to replicate your Kryptonian powers. I've used this method to replicate others' superpowers before, but I'm not sure how long it will take to replicate your Kryptonian powers."

After listening to Russell's explanation, Kara furrowed her brow slightly.

After thinking for a few seconds, she continued, "What about the second method?"

"Um... well, the second method is... maybe it's because we haven't done some of the things that couples typically do."

Russell hesitated again, perhaps because he was familiar with the situation, or maybe he was feeling unusually shy.

"What's wrong with you today? You're acting all timid like a woman," Kara couldn't help but notice that Russell was acting strangely today.

Russell's behavior today was completely different from usual.

"Like a woman?"

Russell hadn't expected Kara to describe him like that.

"Never mind, let's just forget it. You've known all along that I'm not a good person!" Russell put aside all his concerns and looked at Kara seriously. He continued, "The second method is that we do some of the things that couples typically do."

"Haven't we been doing those things for the past month?" Kara obviously didn't understand Russell's true meaning.

"I mean, doing the things that Diana and I do at night," Russell said directly.

"You..."

Kara's face turned even redder.

Seeing Kara's blushing face, Russell continued, "Apart from that, we've done almost everything that couples typically do. This is the only thing we haven't done."

"Of course, I'm not sure if this is the reason I haven't gained Kryptonian powers. I just think it's a possibility."

"If you're not willing, I won't force you. We can just use the first method."

After speaking, Russell picked up his teacup and finished the tea inside.

He now had a deeper understanding of the saying "Being too familiar can make one embarrassed." When he used to have fast food, he never had such concerns.

But now, facing Kara, who lived next door and was also a member of the Justice League, he was experiencing this kind of concern.

Kara remained silent, her face red, and her head lowered as she contemplated something.

Russell didn't rush her and patiently waited for her response.

The choice was no longer in his hands; how things would develop depended on Kara's decision.

If Kara was willing to try the second plan with him, as a normal man, he certainly wouldn't have any objections. If Kara wasn't willing, as a man with principles, he wouldn't force her.

He might not be a good man, at least not the kind of good man who met public moral standards, but he had principles.

Even for fast food, it was only under the circumstances of mutual consent.

After several minutes of silence, Kara slowly raised her head and looked at him with her face still blushing.

"Since there's a possibility that we haven't done certain things that couples typically do is the reason you haven't gained Kryptonian powers, then let's do those things!"

"We're a couple now, and if other couples can do them, so can we!"

Although Kara pretended not to care, her tone and her flushed cheeks gave her away.

Russell couldn't help but smile at Kara's words. He appreciated her willingness to go along with his suggestion, even though she might not fully understand the situation.
