Beatrice bowed respectfully. "Yes, Your Majesty," she said with a smile. "I will make my way to the Golden Rose Palace now to greet the Queen."
As she turned to leave, the King spoke up again. "And Beatrice," he added, "do not worry about your future engagement. You have my blessing to choose your own path and follow your heart."
Beatrice couldn't believe her ears. She turned back to the King, tears welling up in her eyes. "Thank you, Your Majesty," she said, her voice trembling with emotion. "I am forever grateful for your kindness and generosity."
The King just smiled at her, his eyes warm and kind. "Go now, my dear," he said gently. "The Queen is waiting for you."
However, Richard's expression remained rigid and displeased, clearly not satisfied with the King's decision. He took a deep breath, but remained silent, knowing that there was nothing he could do to change the King's mind.
