Selene began to laugh and said, "Oh, Adonis, we just want to make sure you're okay. After all, it's not every day you witness such a scandalous affair," she said with a sneer.
"Oh, I see," replied Adonis, rolling her eyes. "Well, I appreciate your concern, but I'm sure I can handle my own life without your input. Can you say the same about your own affairs?"
"How kind of you to worry about us," Selene said with a fake smile.
Eos leaned back in her chair, a sly grin spreading across her lips. "Oh darling, if only you knew how to satisfy your man, perhaps your own mother wouldn't have snatched him away," she taunted, waving her hand dismissively.
"But then again, if you couldn't even keep hold of a mere fiance, I can only imagine what kind of fate awaits your future husband," she added, chuckling to herself as she fanned her face with exaggerated drama.
