Beatrice's eyes snapped open as she gasped for air, her body drenched in sweat. She couldn't believe the vividness of the dream she had just experienced. Slowly, she sat up in her bed, feeling the soft sheets beneath her.
As she took in her surroundings, the reality of her room calmed her racing heart. The high ivory ceiling and the light blue accents to the room brought her a sense of peace. She noticed her maids bustling around, preparing for her day ahead.
Despite the comforting familiarity of her surroundings, her mind was still consumed with the Devil's touch. She could almost feel his fingertips trailing over her skin, leaving goosebumps in their wake. The scent of wine and cigars lingered in the air, almost tangible.
