Attempted Escape

Rod and Tobias had gotten their hands handcuffed onto the back of the chair they were sitting on and their feet tied to it. Tobias and Rod were still getting tortured so they could give out information about themself or the unit. Tobias and Rod were trained to be patient and wait until the opportunity was presented to capture their enemies. However, the enemies did not expect Rod and Tobias to disjoint their bones as they were already broken. As Rod and Tobias started to disjoint their bones, they got rid of the handcuff cuffed to the back of the chair, and by doing so, they freed their hands and feet. Rod and Tobias pretended to have their hands still cuffed to the back of the chair and their feet tied to the chair because once the enemy approached them, they would disarm them.

Rod and Tobias knew that using the element of surprise can be used to achieve success. Rod and Tobias allowed themselves to get caught on purpose and to be stabbed by the enemies. Rod and Tobias were in pain, but they needed to find a way to distract the enemy so they could be approached to knock them out.

Rod and Tobias prayed that they could escape quickly from the terrorists. Rod and Tobias noticed that every guard was heavily armed, and every escape point was also heavily guarded. Rod knew their only way to flee was to become aggressive and kill. Rod and Tobias knew that they could die either from fighting back or from trying to escape a heavily guarded fortress. Tobias was looking for a pacifist approach that did not require unnecessary killing.

Tobias tried to analyze his enemies to know the best approach since his specialty is kinesics and psychology. Tobias also understood that The Syndicate of Invisibility forced some individuals to join them by threatening them or a loved one. From what Tobias and Rod discovered about The Syndicate of Invisibility, they did not take no for an answer; you either die or join, and they are an organization that lived up to their stature. The organization is known to do horrendous and vile things, and nothing is off the table for them, whether killing or forcing themselves on others sexually. Rod and Tobias decided they would play rock, paper, and scissors, and the winner would decide what approach they would take, such as if they would kill or find a pacifist approach to escape.

Rod and Tobias decided it was a good time to stop pretending their hands were still handcuffed behind the chair and their feet tied up. Rod and Tobias took off the handcuffs and took off the rope. Since they were not being watched anymore, they took this opportunity to try to escape. Since Rod and Tobias could not decide the best course of action, they played rock, paper, and scissors. Rod and Tobias got tied with a score of two-two, and the winner of the final round would be the one to decide on what approach to follow, whether to be aggressive or a negotiator. The last game was interrupted by bullets coming toward them, so they did not find out who would have won if they had continued.

Rod and Tobias received their answer not from their game of rock, paper, scissors but from their enemies who were shooting at them so they could kill them. Tobias and Rod managed to avoid the bullets but needed to strategize a plan to knock out their enemies by surprise. Once Rod and Tobias saw some enemies approach them, they knocked them out with their military combat training martial arts. Rod and Tobias retrieved the weapons the enemies had on them, whether guns, knives, or grenades. Then, Tobias and Rod started shooting at their enemies, killing them with a clean headshot or shooting them in the body's center mass. The body's center mass is the chest area since it's the most significant part of the body. Each time they saw the enemy's body go down, they approached their body and picked up their ammo, guns, and other available weapons on their person.

Tobias started praying. Tobias began to quote the Bible book of Deuteronomy chapter 31, verse 6, which states, "Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you." – New King James Version.

Rod and Tobias were in ample pain because they allowed the enemy to stab them to where they lost a lot of blood. Rod and Tobias's pain could have sent other individuals' bodies into shock to the point where they would collapse to the ground or cause them to hyperventilate. Rod and Tobias were trained on enduring pain that could have killed them, made them faint, or caused their bodies to go into shock because of the amount of blood they lost or hyperventilate. Even though Rod and Tobias risked getting stabbed intentionally to surprise their enemy, they still need to

find a first aid kit to treat themselves. Rod and Tobias ripped their shirts to create a tight tourniquet to stop bleeding.

Rod and Tobias tried escaping the enemy's hideout and got pinned down by the adversary's fire. No matter how many adversaries Rod and Tobias have shot and killed, they kept coming and shooting at Rod and Tobias. Rod and Tobias were becoming desperate to escape the enemy fortress with their life intact. Which one of us is going to be the sacrifice? That was the question Rod and Tobias were deciding on, which was difficult because it was their life, and they knew one of them would perish.

Rod was willing to be the sacrifice so Tobias could run with his life. Rod wanted to be the sacrifice to use it as an atonement. Rod knew this would give him comfort for how he behaved in his adolescent years. Meanwhile, Tobias was trying to figure out how they could escape without having one of them perish but being under duress was challenging in thinking of a way out. Tobias and Rod wanted to die for one another, but they wanted to see a future where they were married and with their own family. So, Tobias and Rod thought of a risky strategy because it involved minimum protection, but it was the only way they would survive.

Rod and Tobias used the buddy rush strategy to run and shoot at the adversary. Rod and Tobias had more injuries from the enemy from a bullet grazing their hands and legs, but they were not life-threatening. Rod was getting annoyed because no matter how many enemies he had shot and killed, stabbed, or brutally beaten to death, it seemed like they were multiplying. Rod can be very insensitive and enjoys seeing people perish and bleed to their deaths when frustrated.

Tobias had to calm Rod down because they would die if they did not continue thinking with clarity. Tobias devised another plan because more enemies started to appear to kill them no matter what they did. Tobias aimed to shoot everyone and find a bomb to blow up the adversaries' hideout. Even though Tobias was thinking realistically about bombing the terrorist lair, it would be difficult without them getting blown up into pieces.

Even though Rod agrees with Tobias's opinion of blowing up the adversary's lair, he does not have any way of finding a bomb that will cause a big explosion. If Rod and Tobias are careful, it could save them their life. Rod and Tobias will have to kill or put their enemy to sleep by choking them out to find a map of the hideout to find a way out. Rod and Tobias were tired of running and killing the enemy because they still viewed them as human beings who needed psychological help. Tobias and Rod considered finding a map to the enemy's lair since they needed to return to their base to report to their commanding officer.

Rod and Tobias have yet to learn how long it has been since their capture, if it's been a day or two or weeks since their adversary took their watches. Rod and Tobias's options are to keep battling until they get killed or become depleted from running around trying to find an exit. Tobias hopes someone from their unit will come and investigate why they have yet to report their findings. They usually have twenty-four through forty-eight hours to report back before the rest of the special force members come to help.

Tobias remembers when he, Rod, and another unit member named Albert Dwayne Love were assigned to protect a family of four. Tobias remembers this day because it was his first and only mission he failed. Tobias could not forgive himself for a while because he let Albert die under his watch. However, Albert respected Tobias and Rod. Tobias and Rod oversaw the protection of both the family and Albert. Albert was a new member of the until who recently passed the test of becoming a special force member because he never gave up no matter how many times he failed the physical aspect of the training.

Tobias and Rod viewed Albert as a younger brother. Tobias and Rod were confident that Albert was ready for this mission. However, it turns out that Albert was not prepared for this mission because he died. At the time, Tobias, Rod, and Albert were unaware that the assigned family they protected worked for the terrorist. Tobias and Rod made the mistake of not searching the family home for weapons because they seemed innocent people who would not cause harm to others. One of the lessons taught to Rod and Tobias is not to get overconfident and not assume all people are good or evil due to their appearance since looks can be deceiving.
